This was such a great experience. Spillways is an absolute banger and I fell in love with it from the very first note. I cannot wait to hear this whole album in full.
I absolutely love the live singing because of the amazing background vocals the nameless ghouls/ghoulettes provide. I wish we could hear more of that in the official albums, but I love it nonetheless
The ghoulettes voices are just pure bliss to listen too. Wish it was like that on the album 🤘 they need to release this live performance on album, CD etc
It's just four songs lol. I think they're due for a legit live album though. Especially with all the bangers they could play off of Prequelle and Impera.
I saw these guys live on their tour this year, and they put on a fantastic show. They performed Mummy Dust, and one of the goulettes was shredding the keyboard guitar. It was sick!
Suuuch a powerful performance! All the instrumental solos were so satisfying, I really really love hearing all the components of Call Me Little Sunshine coming together. The layering of the deep and operatic "call me" and the light echo is just so satisfying. All the songs are so atmospheric, and I love how each one has a unique tone in singing, like they each have a completely different person narrating them. It's so fun to pick up on the contrast while they're being performed constitutively
Especially during the second verse of Spillways. The lead vocals are really quite demanding and I'm sure Papa was just resting his voice momentarily but when the ghouls carry the human decay/corpus dei line it really emphasizes and elevates that little moment lyrically and musically. In hindsight it feels almost empty not seeing backup vocals in previous live shows, particularly pre-dating Prequelle. First time I heard them in that leaked acoustic performance of Cirice I was immediately enamored and I only grow fonder of them with time.
@@panicnow14 Yeah! The ghouls backing in that section almost make it sound like a summoning, like Papa has a pack of demons joining the sermon. I totally agree that pre-Prequelle songs would be awesome to hear with the backing ghouls, I hope that in the future they might do a medley of older songs in this kind of format. I'd really really love Stand By Him, Depth of Satan's Eyes, Majesty, Deus in Absentia, and Absolution to be performed in a studio live 🙌🏻

@@kategwynne4658 Absolutely. The only other artists to reach out to me emotionally like this were The Weeknd and Katy Perry (still love them). I mean at minimum there are 4 killer singles off this record… They started the shows the last tour with Kaisarion for a reason, and this is an amazing song… along with Hunters moon and Sunshine… makes this album an extremely solid effort and I haven’t really digested the deep tracks yet.
New fan here and you can tell that Tobias inside the studio and live only demands perfection. They sound so great live and now I wish that I knew about them back when they toured with Volbeat. I like Volbeat and they played at an arena that is only 30 minutes away! I will see Ghost live next time.
Call Me Little Sunshine performance is freaking awesome here!
I will say this again.. again, again and again... I love that he has left the backing tracks behind and has taken it LIVE... full band and live.... Sounds great...
0:14 Kaisarion
5:18 Call Me Little Sunshine
9:58 Hunters Moon
13:13 Spillways
god!!!
Thank uuu
Interesting lack of Twenties.
call me little sunshine drew me to his band. i've known them for years but haven't really listened to them until earlier this year. i've never looked back since. i love this band!
Same. I've had it stuck in my brain for weeks. I don't understand why so many people have so much hate for them. I guess haters gotta have a reason to hate.
@@CheetahLoversMI it's because of some bs that happened between him and some earlier band members.
glad to have you on the team. :)
@@renealbrechtsen9743 Well, that's just stupid.. then there's the twue metal heads saying that's not metal.. bitch, it's more metal than stupid James and Lars show..
"Call me dododo dododoDOO little sunshine..." he muttered to himself as he checked the mailbox
Another absolutely amazing Ghost album! Musically , vocally , and in presentation! The ghoullettes back up vocals are F’ing phenomenal!!! I’d LOVE to try out to be a Ghoullette and sing with papa every night!
Backing singers pure joy to listen too.
im at a loss for words this is a beautiful album i can’t even begin to express how awesome this is. I believe they all did a great job and the music is ahhhhh beautiful
That fucking growl at 10:48 (and at 15:26) , making me go FERAL. 🖤🖤
Yess!! Me too, I can't tell you how many times I re watched that part
Same sister same
This was such a great experience. Spillways is an absolute banger and I fell in love with it from the very first note. I cannot wait to hear this whole album in full.
When I hear this song I want to go catch some pokemon... just me? ok.
Toto hold the line!
@@lathanasamna 🥺 yes! Haha
@@smokiesparrow I hear so much in that opening section. I hear pokemon, toto, bon jovi and journey. Its kinda crazy
The ghoulettes background vocals are a 10/10
Several listens in now and I’m leaning towards “this is the greatest rock album ever recorded” territory. Simply amazing.
TRUTH!!
Nah most overrated band in history
Taking my 8 and 6 year old to watch Ghost next month. Their first ever gig. They're massive Ghost fans!
Ghost is the only band that could make me watch NASCAR just to see how theirs places.
Wow Spillways literally made my day. It is absolutely amazing, how a good song can make you feel better no matter what ❤
When he says "ways" at 15:26 omggggg is amazing it i make remember when he was member of Repugnant
Ghoulettes voices on little sunshine have me goosebumps! New one has a phenomenal voice! Can’t wait for London! 😍😍
I absolutely love the live singing because of the amazing background vocals the nameless ghouls/ghoulettes provide. I wish we could hear more of that in the official albums, but I love it nonetheless
I don't know how to say how much I love this, Ghost is one of the best live band I ever heard and the songs are beautiful
Setlist:
00:16 01. Kaisarion
05:17 02. Call Me Little Sunshine (Live Premiere)
09:59 03. Hunter's Moon
13:13 04. Spillways (Live Premiere)
KÖSZÖNÖM ÉDES HONFITÁRS (épp le akartam írni, így tényleg köszönöm szépen, találkozunk Májusban a koncerten)
If you have Ghost, you have EVERYTHING.
The way this is filmed is like Secular Haze on steroids and I am all for it! Also these backing vocals are on fucking fire! Ghost never disappoints!
Dear Ghost, Thank you so much for bringing these amazing songs!
I love how Tobias Forge does the 80s theme, in his music, videos, moves and looks 🖤🖤🤙👌❤️❤️
Ik reminds of judas priests so much
I saw these guys live on their tour this year, and they put on a fantastic show. They performed Mummy Dust, and one of the goulettes was shredding the keyboard guitar. It was sick!
The Keytar solo was dope af
Saw them in Phoenix, front row!!! And your right goulette fucking killed it!
She kicks that keytar solo's ass live! Amazing!
Love her, she's the best keytar player
Wow! The Ghoulette’s backing vocals on Little Sunshine starting at 8:37 are beyond spectacular!
8:53 is even better.
Ghoulettes are amazing, Female backing vocal just adds that extra touch
i think its a male vocalist who has that old style 80s rock band voice but not sure...either way they sounds amazing af
@@Anakalia13 Two background vocalist male and female. Was hoping the vocals would be more this tour and it was. Makes a massive difference.
I pre-ordered Impera on iTunes, guys, before it came out. I love you guys way too much, so i had to.
You guys have seriously changed my life for the better. You truly saved me from a very dark place.
ALL HAIL GHOST.
We are all family here. Glad to have you here and I’m so happy you’re in a better place now. ❤️
Yes, Hail Ghost!!. Music has always saved me from dark places too. You're not alone. xx
@@zvendiearschficker6664 You guys are seriously the best. I’ve never felt more accepted in a community like this. ❤️
@@kategwynne4658 Absolutely. The only other artists to reach out to me emotionally like this were The Weeknd and Katy Perry (still love them). Ghost is one of a kind to me, because they managed to help me deal with really traumatic and horrible stuff in my life, and I never really was used to metal music as a little kid. I grew up to Shania Twain, mainstream pop and electronic dance of the 2000’s. They will always be my safe haven when I need a friend in this dark, cold, unforgiving world. ❤️
@@CorridorOfMirrorsRemixes That is a good thing. I grew up on metal and it has always been my tribe so whatever it speaks, I always relate. It's good to have eclectic music tastes though and I also do, particularly with lot of 1980's stuff and classical too. Always a song or piece for every mood and eventuality!! Sending you a hardcore music hug. xx
Its so crazy to see the rise of this band over the years. I found ritual when I was a sophomore in high school and to think that they are one of the best acts in music atm is so wild, yet well deserved. As much as I love their previous work (meliora is still my fave era) I think the band is now beginning to sound how Tobias has always envisioned it to be. Much love to the band and everyone in here appreciating great art!
This is honestly my favourite recording of them, especially with the ghoulettes’ audio mixing
Back-up vocals are just beautiful.
13:13 just gonna leave this here for everyone repeatedly listening to Spillways like myself 🙌
Wow! Ghost never disappoint. Amazing performance and love that the clergy has expanded with the backing vocalists. An amazing thing to wake up to and has made my day 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Just ordered the album and gold cassette, doing what I can- keep the faith Brothers and Sisters.
This felt like watching an early 90’s BBC special and I’m here for it!
And man do I love Spillways!
Yeah, its like they filmed it with a potato on purpose. It felt to me like early 90's MTV- Headbanger's Ball or 120 Minutes. I half expected Matt Pinfield to stroll in and start interviewing the band! 😆
I wondered what it reminded me. Spot on mate
@@jennifer9047 it was definitely filmed with an old video camera, not a filter, this was cool as hell.
@@WoodrowSkillson yeah they totally did this thing legit, all the way down to the 1991 MTV nonstop flying camera
Spillways is a completely legit 80s AOR song. This entire album is nothing short of jaw dropping.
Yes! Tobias is a genius. Vinyl is ordered and on the way. Hope to catch a show this year.
You ABSOLUTELY have to see them in person. The energy, sound quality, and stage presence is unreal - their show in Anaheim is the best I've ever been to.
This was soooo cool! I was fortunate enough to see the guys on tour, the whole crew behind Tobias are true master class musicians and I love the way they all come together to make this music happen, you can tell there’s lots of passion for what’s going on and I’m loving it ❤️
One of the few bands that gets better with every album! Can’t wait for Impera’s release!
