Hey Alex! I think it's time for you to watch the Vinland Saga 🫂, because the message it is conveyed to the audience that 'You Have No Enemies, The Truth Is Nobody Has Any, Nobody In This Entire World Deserves To Get Hurt' is simply astounding ❤️🩹.

I'm not a fan of your negative reviews, (that's not a judgement on you, more a personal preference) But man, when you give a positive review I could listen on repeat for HOURS, your love and affection for the art of story telling and character studies is so freaking infectious! I love the Extended Unleashed Cut of The Wolverine. It’s what I wanted this film to be initially. The added blood and language felt like a bridge to Deadpool and Logan’s willingness to to be more mature.
Mangold's Wolverine Duology is great. Honestly the best characterizations of Wolverine in film. I just wish he could've directed a sequel before Logan that had a good mix between the heroics and the brutality.
Right? It would''ve been perfect if we got a middle film that had him in the costume, fully back as the hero, only to flash forward and see that he has fallen and is broken.
The reason for the 2 Yukio’s, no matter what anyone else will say about timeline shenanigans, is literally just the fact that both characters are based on the same obscure comic character that appears in like 1 or 2 issues that doesn’t even have a surname and so they both just ran with it to make two completely different characters for two completely different purposes. Since comic Yukio doesn’t have a surname, they could always just say that they’re two different characters… because they are.
It's kinda odd to me though since the DP Yukio, at least abilities wise, seems more in line with Surge (who I know because of that one Avenger Anime where they became Pokemon). But hey, I like DP Yukio so who cares?
exactly !! this was always my problem with the film. i loved the first 80% of the film. but they absolutely blew it with the ending. such a great film ruined by the crappy/weird ending
@@spawncampeThat logic doesn’t work though because even the X-Men movies themselves don’t follow any rules. Angel was a young man in 2007 and then in X-men Apocalypse he is a young man in the 1980s. The Wolverine is a movie I also really love. I never agreed with the hate for it. I loved everything about it, including that third act. It deserves far more recognition. Thank you for this video.

I’ve always enjoyed your channel and how your script and voice show how passionate you are about these products. I wish people would learn to disagree respectfully. You always make it abundantly clear even during negative reviews that you still understand the work, creativity, and love that was put into these movies. You’re aware of the inherent arrogance and how you’re going against the majority. When people boil your takes down to “not a rami movie” I honesty feel for you. That doesn’t give people any right to shit on you, they could just disagree and explain why. But it’s the internet so I don’t know what I expect. Congrats on 400k.
Dude I love you. The thing that drew me to your channel was the fact that we have the same taste in movies but also that you give your voice to the voiceless movies. You apprericate the art that not a lot of people even like to look at. And even if I don’t agree 100% on your takes or on certain movies you like (Batman Forever) I still see the passion and the love you have for those movies and it’s just so nice to see that
Yep, his review on 2003 hulk is a good example. Also TASM. I can also add to that SM3 which wasn't perfect but had A LOT of deep layers and top tier cinematography, it deserved respect and HiTop was the only one to truly appreciate it. I'll always pick a flawed but ambitious movie over another mid MCU formulaic product. HiTop sees the vision of the creator and that's what most TH-camrs doesn't do, they stay superficial
I have loved and sung the praises of this movie for years and everytime I bring it up, I'm met with "which one was that again?" Im so happy to see it finally getting its much deserved flowers.
An admantium fueled recharged organic(more comic accurate)Silver Samurai as the final Boss would have been a better choice I believe. I think SS and Yashida fighting wolverine and Yukio together would have been a better finale. Great episode!

I love all the scenes with Jean in this film. James really understood the love Logan has for Jean and how he carries it throughout his tenure as Logan. Not only did he lose the woman he loves most but he’s also the one responsible for her death, which he carries the burden with him throughout this film. Love this film and James Mangold as a filmmaker

You know thinking about it i kind of love the difference between how Yukio is portrayed in The Wolverine and the Deadpool movies. In The Wolverine, she's been raised by Yashida, tries to suppress her powers and made to believe her mutation makes her one of God's mistakes, she has no one to talk to about her traumas and so she walks a darker path and becomes someone who could act as Wolverine's Robin. In Deadpool, Yukio is raised by Xavier, she learns to control her powers and always has people around she can turn to for help, even finding a relationship with Negasonic, and she ends up being the happiest most pure person going. Considering Deadpool 2 discusses abuse turning a child into a monster, Yukio's role is actually a very subtle foreshadow to how a happy upbringing can change someone.
Than you; I also loved this movie better than all the majority of the X-Men franchise. While not too fond of the end, the overall movie is a blast for old time Wolvster fans such as myself
Many people may not agree with you Alex, but you always make great points and you stand your ground. You've got integrity and you're a true artist. Stay true to yourself and never stop doing what you do best mate, cheers.
Wolverine is my favorite superhero. I've seen this movie way too many times. It's simple, it's incredible. Yet the ending leaves you unsatisfied. Logan is in my top 5 movies... ever. The Wolverine felt like Mangold's vision before the studio trusted him to tell the whole story. Logan was the studio letting him loose. Or Mangold had all of his ideas solidified by the time he made Logan.

I think what the DoP meant, was that previously, in the films, especially the most recent at the time, X-Origins and Last Stand, Logan was relegated to a more 2D archetype, and this was the movie that was trying to make him feel human again (like X1 and X2). But yeah, saying that the comics are always shallow and not human is funny considering a good many superhero movies lack the nuance and depth of the comics.

Tbh i dont find you negative. I find u passionate. With how many half assed reviews out there its refreshing. I really enjoyed this and the last video. Its nice to see aomeone remembers what wolverine is/could be in television.
I’d have to agree aha , when I first watched Logan I didn’t appreciate enough and I’ve grown to enjoy it more on every watch but this movie has a soft spot in my heart. I was 10 years old when I saw it in cinema and I was just blown away
I definitely really love the first 2 acts a lot, I'd say both films are both great companion pieces, but also so different that I can't really pick which one I enjoy more.
I'm only thirty seconds into your your intro... and i can already tell this is your best video. thx for inspiring me to create! hope you have a good one!
I didn’t see your Deadpool and Wolverine video but you always do your thing with these videos. The emotion in your voice, I feel that. I only saw The Wolverine twice in theaters back in 2013. Never saw it again , I liked it but now I HAVE to watch it. The extended/unrated cut specifically. Love the channel. I wish you much success and growth!
Fun fact: Majority of this film was actually shot in Australia!! Even a lot of the scenes that are in Japan, 60-70% of them were filmed in various locations in Sydney.
I saw the directors cut at a school movie night and immediately bought the 4 disc collectors set, still have it to this day honestly my favourite x-men movie with Logan being tied with it
This video is a pleasant surprise and I've every minute of you talking about these underrated cape flicks. The Wolverine truly is the Dark Horse of the X-Men Saga.
Something about this movie feels so nostalgic for me, when it came out in theaters I was 10 and I remember thinking it was so badass. Wolverine has always been in my top 3 favorite superheroes
I've always Preferred Your more Positive reviews not just you but for every TH-camr. Even though I might not always agree with your opinions, Your Videos are always very well made and written beautifully. This Movie is Definitely very Underrated and a Great lead up to Logan.
Thank you! That’s why I try to stick to mostly talking about the movies I love that are often overlooked (“forgotten”). Sucks that the negative ones are always the ones that get attention, but that’s our culture.
Man, I have been tuning into your channel for a few years now since I first saw your Spiderman 1 2002 and it has been awesome. Thank you for reflecting on the love and passion these movies do what they can to portray to make us appreciate them even more! continue the excellent content...
I thought I was the only one who really loved this Wolverine movie. When characters (heroes, gods, super beings…etc) become relatable to the audience, thats when a film is great. You can make the connection instead displaying these god like beings being invincible. It’s cool to see how much emotion and raw ness this film added
This movie made me fall in love with Logan as a character. It was my favorite superhero movie for a while. We need more people like mansgold making superhero movies
Fuck I wished this movie was rated R. Oh man it would have been…. Well what Logan was. We coulda had 2 Logans. Besides that it’s still one of my favorites. I love anything Wolverine and this movie was pretty badass.
absolutely loved this film on release and rewatched it prior to dp3 along with logan and by god its still so good.. i get frustrated when no one talks about this one. GOATED comic book movie, i get the vibes of early 2000 comic book movies with this one and its just so good.
Great video. I love The Wolverine (2013), and your video made me fall in love with it all over again. Hugh Jackman has been so dedicated to this role time after time.
This movie is probably one of favorite wolverine movies by far just cause of the themes. The character has been a staple in my life since i was a kid and this movie coupled with Logan felt like a really good end cap to my teenage years in all honesty.
I’m really glad you made a video about one of my favorite yet underrated Wolverine movies. Although we may not share the same opinions, I still appreciate your thoughts on film and I can’t wait for your Jason project.
I really appreciate your honesty in your videos. Yeah people may not always agree with it but who cares, it’s your content. This is one of my favorite movies and I’m glad people show love to it.
Defiantly a fun and underrated flick, that perfect balance between color and stylish and realistic and gritty. Plus, The Wolverine walked so Logan could run
I would’ve loved to have seen what Darren Aronofsky had planned for the movie, I feel like Mangold probably had a lot of ideas bleed over into the his and the finished film.
A Wolverine (2013) retrospect? In this economy?? But fr ive also always thought people forget about this classic. Ive even hailed it as the best of the trilogy, (at times even beating the masterpiece that is X-men Origins😂) and i think the main reason would be the synergy that the director mentioned in the video. I truly believe a good comic book movie must have a blend of reality with the fantastical. And this movie does it so well. It looks like its ripped from a comic at times but also has the heartfelt scenes that really hit the spot. I wish more people did focus on this movie because its genuinely a gem thats always in the shadow of it's younger brother.
I loved this film. I didn’t know people thought it was mid or bad till much later. I think they really did do what they aimed for. It has one of my favourite Wolverine scenes by a country mile.
Much love to you all. Hope you enjoy! ❤

Tbh i dont find you negative. I find u passionate. With how many half assed reviews out there its refreshing. I really enjoyed this and the last video. Its nice to see aomeone remembers what wolverine is/could be in television.
I like this film more than Logan.
There! I said it! Come at me!!
I’d have to agree aha , when I first watched Logan I didn’t appreciate enough and I’ve grown to enjoy it more on every watch but this movie has a soft spot in my heart. I was 10 years old when I saw it in cinema and I was just blown away
Ok
I definitely really love the first 2 acts a lot, I'd say both films are both great companion pieces, but also so different that I can't really pick which one I enjoy more.
I'm only thirty seconds into your your intro... and i can already tell this is your best video. thx for inspiring me to create! hope you have a good one!
Thank you for inspiring me to keep creating.
My favorite X-Men movie besides Logan. I have never once forgotten about this since seeing it
This man continues to consistently release great content, so excited for Jason!!
Can't wait for you to see it!
Might be the earliest I’ve ever been to a video- great channel, I’m excited to see what this vid has in store.
I remember seeing this in theaters and having a blast imo the extended cut is the definitive version incredibly underrated
Beautiful video man ♥
The directors cut for the Wolverine is even better one if the best fox X-Men movies
Wolverine is like venom u gotta add some edge or straight up villainy for his anti hero arc to work… can’t just make ‘em a hero right off the bat…
My favorite TH-cam Chanel. Keep the good work men. Thank you
Thank YOU. Really wouldn't be here without you.
I gotta say, for me, your Batman Forever video broke the internet 10/10. I Love it.
I just watched Logan for the first time and it’s my new favorite superhero movie. Would love to see you do a video on it!
Fun fact: Majority of this film was actually shot in Australia!! Even a lot of the scenes that are in Japan, 60-70% of them were filmed in various locations in Sydney.
Aka, almost every american movie taking place in Japan lol. Way cheaper and easier to recreate than to shoot on the actual location.
Thank you for making a video on this film. The Wolverine never gets talked about enough
Logan (2017) and Wolverine (2013) is Hugh Jackmans best movies as solo.
This movie has a deep place in my heart
There are two types of superhero directors.
B-movie action and S-tier film artists.
It's amazing what the latter can give you in a hero's journey.
Only watched The Wolverine this year. And it just so happened to be on the flight back from Japan... needless to say I found it very special!
loving these retrospectives of older, looked over comic book movies!
I absolutely love this movie. Saw it in theatres. Was my favorite Marvel movie. It felt forgotten when days of future past came out.
I never forgot this movie, in fact I rewatched it recently 3 times , along with logan , x men 1 and 2 and then x men origins
5:04 HiTop appearance in The Bear season 4 confirmed 👨🏻🍳
This movie made me fall in love with Logan as a character. It was my favorite superhero movie for a while. We need more people like mansgold making superhero movies
Really loved how you talked about my favorite Wolverine movie. This video was top notch. Thanks Alex.
Yukio: ☠️🥀🗡️
Also Yukio: 👋🏼☺️🌸✨
Tbh I am happy you made this video
Fuck I wished this movie was rated R. Oh man it would have been…. Well what Logan was. We coulda had 2 Logans. Besides that it’s still one of my favorites. I love anything Wolverine and this movie was pretty badass.
22:31 Hugh is Australian.... not American
absolutely loved this film on release and rewatched it prior to dp3 along with logan and by god its still so good.. i get frustrated when no one talks about this one. GOATED comic book movie, i get the vibes of early 2000 comic book movies with this one and its just so good.
Great video. I love The Wolverine (2013), and your video made me fall in love with it all over again. Hugh Jackman has been so dedicated to this role time after time.
I honestly think The Wolverine is my favorite performance of his. He's brilliant in Logan, but for some reasons this hits me so hard every watch.
Thank you :)
The fight with shingen should’ve been the final fight. Maybe give him some adamantium armor and it would’ve been a perfect final fight.
I JUST watched this film for the first time last night, and really enjoyed it
A Wolverine (2013) retrospect? In this economy??
But fr ive also always thought people forget about this classic. Ive even hailed it as the best of the trilogy, (at times even beating the masterpiece that is X-men Origins😂) and i think the main reason would be the synergy that the director mentioned in the video. I truly believe a good comic book movie must have a blend of reality with the fantastical. And this movie does it so well. It looks like its ripped from a comic at times but also has the heartfelt scenes that really hit the spot. I wish more people did focus on this movie because its genuinely a gem thats always in the shadow of it's younger brother.
Tbh this is my favorite Wolverine film it’s not perfect but it’s damn good
Needed something to moisturize my feet to, you’re the goat, hitop
📱🤨
🙁
🤨
I had impossible expactations for this movie at the time and hated it even more than the origins but maybe I should give it another try
I remember watching this movie late at night all by myself, my mom rented it for me on redbox, good times
I loved this film. I didn’t know people thought it was mid or bad till much later.
I think they really did do what they aimed for. It has one of my favourite Wolverine scenes by a country mile.
James Mangold would be a great choice for a hulk director and writer
holy shit thats a great idea. hope they pull of a hulk: gray or immortal hulk (2 of the only 3 hulk comics i read lol but i really enjoyed them)
@@aryan7767 yea it’d be great
