    I would recommend giving the whole saw a good cleaning with an compressed air hose before taking anything apart.

    Hey thanks alot for posting this video. I got an NWP big bore kit for my makita/dolmar 6401. i've never put a piston or cylinder on anything before, but after watching your video it took me 1.5 hours from start to finish. I've run two tanks of gas through it and it's running great, so i guess you taught me the right way to do things.

    Dumb question, why wouldn't you at least blow off the crap before you expose any internal parts of the saw ?

    I have to do this for my Echo CS-530 that seized when a friend didn't add oil to the gas. Where do I buy less expensive parts than OEM? I'm hoping my disassembly won't be too different from your Husqvarna. Have you, by any chance, uploaded a video of this kind of repair for Echo cs-530? Many thanks for your clear presentation!

    Say don I have a Husqvarna 61, bought it used. I need a new clutch, looks like the last owner tightened the clutch to tight and broke the center out of the nut that acts as a stop on the end of the crankshaft to keep the drum from impacting the oil pump and crankshaft seal. Any idea where I could find one that does not cost allot? Looked on EBay, all I can find is a clutch that does not have the center stop built into the nut.

  • @daand12
    @daand12 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @donyboy73 I gonna take out the piston pin tomorrow, because for new rings i need go to the dealer. And i want that they insert the piston into the Cylinder ( before i break more rings ) Installing the Clips back is easy. I dont know if thats possible with an screwdriver. Taking out that is possible, I also can see some scoring on the piston and Cylinder, but i cant feel that by fingers. I used sandpaper to remove Carbon on the top of the piston. But dont forgot the engine is 17 years old.

    I have acquired a Husqvarna 55 that I'm having trouble adjusting the carb. I've replaced all the lines and rebuilt the carb, mostly by watching your vids, thx! I have replaced the seal on the crank side but am unsure about tearing into the sprocket side to replace that seal. Do you have any videos on doing this? Great videos, very good instructions.

  • @daand12
    @daand12 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @donyboy73 The moped is running again. First start was ofcourse without exhaust + new piston rings. My dealer saw that the old was worn. Just as normal a bit oil in the Cylinder and piston and a bit to much on the crank so there was a little bit to much oil in the crankcase. Now only i had to put the old exhaust gasket, because i wasn't able to screw the bolt in with new gasket.

    I inherited a Husqvarna 55 from my grandfather. I started to clean it up last weekend and found it to be in great shape overall, except the area inside the chainbrake cover was scorched. The brake would not disengage. After taking the handle apart I saw there was a spring that had broken. I went ahead and ordered a used brake assembly I found on ebay due to the overall burn damage around the brake ring. Cost me $40. Now I have a good brake and the old one full of good parts should I ever need them. To replace the spring would have cost me 5 or 6 bucks, but the cover was so burnt up I didn't want to chance it causing more problems down the road. Only thing I can figure is that he ran it without chain oil at some point or let the area get too clogged with sawdust. Any ideas what else could have caused this area to burn?
