I tried this fix on my wife's Nitro just today. I've been fighting this vehicle since last summer and have replaced the front drive shaft because the C.V. joint was loose. Replaced everything in the front end and replaced tires and got an alignment too. Nothing worked. Now two tubes of this anti friction fluid and the vibration is gone! Thank you so much for this video. You're a life saver buddy!
But where is the firewall?? The only cap I found is near my engine oil dipstick- the thick black tube that this cap runs into says “a/c 5/8”. Im guessing this air conditioner line? Someone help because I don’t know where else to look and I’ve searched thoroughly.
I took a road trip yesterday and noticed on my way back my Nitro started hard shifting between 50 and 55. But since then it seems to have smoothed out again. I remembered seeing your video a while ago and decided to revisit it. Now I know what to try if it starts to act up again. Thanks for the info cuhz.
Thank you for this video. My 2008 is doing the same thing. I will try this today or tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes. Also thank you for your service in the USAF. I served as well.
I am on my second Nitro, I originally had a 2008 SXT I bought with 14K on it at 30K I started feeling an odd shudder and sometimes violent shift until one day on the highway, lost all power to the transmission, The dealer i bought it from looked at it and the splined shaft for the torque converter was machine slightly off and wore out wear it mounts to the converter. They also replaced the valve body and updated the software for the transmission and it was fine after that and I had it for 10 years and traded it in with 130K on it. I now have a 2011 Nitro Detonator with a slight shudder and almost seems delayed kickdown so maybe I'll try this shudder fix we sell it at my work.
My transmission on my 4.0L R/T shutters pretty bad as it picks up speed, at any gear. I was told to change the filter and fluid(which I will) but I will also do this fix to see how it performs
@@usafveteranmechanic2754 no it still shutters at around 50mph. But I'm having a issue with the a.c lines. The guy i goes to put dye in the system and said there is a clog some where but don't have time to figure it out.
@@ladytresa9255 ok if you don't need to use your a.c. don't . try another tube of then lubricant. and run that for another 10 miles or so, doing a stop start through the gears shifting at slow speeds, then get it up to 50 and see if it still shutters.
I don't have a shudder when I drive but my 09 Nitro seems to idle as though it wants to die out on me and it usually happens after I put it into gear. It just so happens my daughter heard the gear and said my tranny doesn't sound good. Any ideas? I just put $1000 for a new water filter and air compressor 🥴
Plugs? I am having sane issue as ^^ but it doesn't die.. just had someone do a tune e up and replaced my plugs.. so I'm wondering if its due cto the plugs they used?
2007 nitro only shudders at quick take off (0-25mph). Otherwise shifts fine. Doesn't do this all the time. High speeds no problem. Tried servicing trans but problem still there. 170k mi on truck, any ideas?

Just bought a Dodge nitro.. And love it and the transmission light came on..
what year is your nitro?
if you feel your tramission shudder at speeds.of 40 to 45 and 60 when it shifts to a lower gear. thats.what the lubricant is for

Solenoid pack
Can this be used as a preventative even if I'm not experiencing an issue.
I don't see why not. its only a few ounces and it won't hurt the trany.
I'll be buying this tomorrow see if this helps.
did it help?

My 2004 Jeep Liberty CRD shifts hard 2nd to 3rd. Would you recommend this for it?
can't hurt to try. use 4 oz. won't hurt it.
where can you get the transmission dipstick for the nitro since it doesn’t come with one
any parts store for an after market.
Rock on brother!

If it's the 3.7, every 30 k u need to replace the plugs. Only use ngk copper on 3.7.

used twice with a good amount of time between and still having issue. look like it could be something more serious.
