They've been drumming like this since at least the 70s, good stuff
You my good man are basically kicking everyone who sees this in the groin by not having the sheet music in the description
Nice video - capture more of the entire line.. far more than snares exist.
Thanks for posting - well filmed
They're honestly up there with The University of North Texas and RCC lol. Pretty hardcore stuff.
Matt Dougard I mean UNT is basically Santa Clara Vanguard lol. Besides the point, these kids are good.
Isn't Rennick UNT's guy also?
Yepp
Best NCAA marching band in the country
Luke Shaffer best band in the NCAA..... maybe. But definitely not the best Spartans in the country. Spartans vs Spartans Norfolk State University Spartan Legion drumline MILLION DOLLAR FUNK $QUAD VS MICHIGAN STATE DRUMLINE.
I know guys on MDF$, You can't compare the two lines, though if you did, MSU would probably win.
@@theonlyblackskreech Thats so not true but ok
Michigan is much better
@@andyraab6887 Michigan is not even close. MSU's drumline is DCI level.
I really wanna see ohio states drumline up against them. Thier drumline has improved so much ever since Mark reynolds brought a more contemporary approach instead of old military drumming
Man, I wish USM would get cool videos like this still
The Bell is a nice touch to the Tenors.
Finally, some of the northern schools playing with a little swag
Center Snare Marched Phantom 2014 and Bluecoats 2015
He was center for Phantom in both 2013 and 2014! He's amazing.
Devan haha.
It's Devon* I would know
Would love to see them and FSU
Awesome
i might want to go jesssss
do members of this Drumline have to time to march wgi also?
what sticks are the tenors using?
Snares and Tenors use Mike Jackson's I think
Or Ralph hardimon’s depends
Yeah the snares used Hardiomon's and tenors were using Murray Gusseck's 'M-Dawgs' last I knew...but I played tenors in 2010 and 2011, so things may have changed since then. The tenors used Thom Hannum's from around 2007-2009 and I think Sean Vega's before that. MTTs have been the constant for tenor mallets.
Spartans vs Spartans NSU's MDF$ vs MSU's drumline. what's the name of your drumline anyway?
I wish I had the sheet music for this!!!
Michael Murphy It's on Tapspace! It's called "X" by Jon Weber.
Thanks!!!
***** are there any free copies?
Only if you're auditioning for the MSU drumline. Fortunately, snare and tenor parts are only $6 individually, but if you want the bass and/or cymbal parts you have to buy the ensemble set.
Their shirts would look even cooler if only the M and S were in green
