  • University of Detroit Mercy Professor Gregory Sumner returns to talk about the Motor City during its days as the capital of the "Arsenal of Democracy" against fascism in the 1940s. Bomber plants, trolley cars, rationing and scrap drives, Joe Louis, Hank Greenberg, and the real-life "Rose the Riveters" were all part of the panorama that made Detroit such a uniquely exciting place to live during the Second World War, and such a key to victory in our nation.
