Nice idea for this model. Did that model some years ago but skipped the idea on animating the lasercanons. Implemented some other ideas instead. Great idea though 😁👍
Not sure if the yellow hues in the paint is maybe due to age, as most of the photos we see of the studio models are from the star wars exhibition tours. Most photos I've seen from the actual filming model taken at the time they were actually shooting it, shows an overall pale grey paint with minimal weathering. That said I do think your paint job works better for a model of this scale than an overall coat of flat light grey would have.
Your a true professional Boyd,it's always a pleasure watching you. When will you be finishing off the 1/350 USS RELIANT Boyd that model is a real work of art.
Great model, I have this so be watching what you do with this one. I am a fan of the colour your bringing to this one, different to the others I have seen built. Happy New Year to you :)
Hi Boyd, Awesome job on this kit. I am just starting the zvezda version of it with all the kits from Greenstrawberry as well, I am also getting a mini Tantive IV that goes in the hanger bay. One question I have so far, where did you get the movie model photos from?
hallo. ich bin gehörlos. ich habe da revell star destroyer 1/2700 ich frag wie Led Revell "Star Destroyer" (1/2700) ich Achnung wie Led oder Mikrocontroller led ??? viel grüß sven reiter
You do nice work but let me express an opinion form years of experience building models from scratch along with kits. As a retired model maker in the film and entertainment industry you can sub out the photo etch and resin for evergreen plastics coupled with an acquired skill set. Furthermore, coupled with the skill of "artistic" painting, it will look as good as any subbed-out resin part model. The amount of clean up work and price of resin is appalling. In addition, the "greasy" texture" of resin is horrible to work with. This also includes all the other details like the engine detail, etc, etc. This way you can stick to styrene adhesive (chemical bond) all the way instead of the horrible CA (mechanical bond) which falls apart after several years of oxidization. I can remember the days of museum modelling and the policy was no models accepted which use CA (mechanical bond) for the former reason. Unless you pin every resin part they break away eventually. Keep up the good work.
Got this kit for Christmas. Hope I can do it as much justice as yourself.
Hats off!
Your paint job was daring dangerous and risky..YOU TOTALLY PULLED IT OFF! 100% EYE CANDY! THE EMPIRE IS PLEASED!
