The lawyer should have been more clear, the original Snow White fairy tale is in the public domain, anyone can use Snow White for their own projects like movies and theater plays, but you can't use anything that was created specifically for the Disney version like the songs, there was an Universal movie that had 8 dwarves because the Disney version had the idea of being 7 dwarves, and there was a time the Oscars got in trouble for using Snow White with the same dress she had in the Disney movie. Copyright laws are annoying, but this wouldn't be a problem if they allowed the Disney version of Snow White to go into the public domain in 1995, but of course, Disney keeps extending the copyright deadline, wait until 2033.
