@@FreakyTallReviews This is hands down the best chair I’ve ever had. The only chair I’ve ever had where the back goes all the way up to my head, I can actually use the pillow!
Love hearing it!! The only complaint I have is the firm seat, but it fits a big back super well and feels so sturdy when I plop 370lbs on it. Thank you for following up and I hope you continue to enjoy it!
I’m 6’5 and 360 pounds and my wife has told me to look into buying a gaming chair and so I did. I’ve dabbled into looking into one that’s specifically my size and my height too so I ran into secret labs and just got it for a Christmas present from my wife. Normally for us big men it’s hard to find one that’s around our height and weight but I do have to say I truly do appreciate this review. I cannot wait to assemble this myself and take my gaming to the next level
We have a few of these chairs at work. I'm 6'5" and 215 lbs and we have several other big guys at work who weigh more than I do and sit in these chairs. My job is shift work, so somebody is in these chairs 24 hours a day. They've held up incredibly well considering that. The only negative thing I can say about them is that they are a bit firmer than I would like, but I still find them pretty comfortable overall. They're also way better than a Hermann Miller Aeron chair, which is what we used to have at my job. Those chairs cost over twice as much!
6'11" 260 here. I got the 2022 version but from what I can tell there is not much of a difference from the 2020. Its an Amazing Chair! I went from Chronic lower back pain to almost zero. What was big for me was the Floor to base height. Most chairs maxed out at 17-18 inches even the ones that claimed big and tall. With the one i used to have, it felt like my knees were in my chest, but with this one the floor to base is like 22"? My legs are now at an even 90 degrees! Its so nice. The head rest is at it max for me, with not much room to spare so you 7 footers might not be as comfortable there. Hefty price but sooooooooo worth it in the end. very happy.
totally agree! I've noticed a lot of folks unhappy with the seat depth on the Titan, but I don't mind it as much since the seat is so much higher. From my video you can see that it sits higher already, and that's on 2" office wheels. I added the 3" office chair replacement wheels from a few videos back and that extra inch higher is even better! I like this chair a lot and glad to hear someone echo the opinion!
This is a great video, It is perfect for my brother and I. I don't even consider us freaky tall at 6'3"/6'4 but, it is still difficult to find products and reviews for those products at our height. Subscribing right now. Thanks 👍
6'10" 375 here, I've had this chair for about a year, the build quality is great and definitely holds up to my height and weight, but the seat cushion is not comfortable at all. After about an hour it starts to feel like you're sitting on a metal bar right where the sun don't shine. I added a Purple Mattress seat cushion and it was perfect. Very strong, lots of adjustments.
Oh I've been planning to review one of those Purple seat cushions! That's disappointing to hear on the cushion. I definitely noticed that it's dense, but was hoping it would break in over time. Sounds like it doesn't and a cushion is necessary. At least, like you said, the build quality is good!
Hey man, I'm 6'5" & 350 Lbs! I'm Super glad I came across this channel looking for my 1st chair and this is the first review I found for big guys. Great job on the review; you were straight to the point. The editing and presentation of your video is fantastic! You said you would make an updated video, but I did not see it on your page. Curious as to how the chair held up and would love to hear your thoughts.
I'm only 6-7, 250, but I'd love to see your review after a year or so. I can't seem to find it. Thanks Cory! I was about to give up on finding a decent chair.
Sucks having to spend more on stuff like this, "being they guy that helps you move" lol oh well, time to start saving. Thanks again for the review, very helpful and informative.
6'8" 295 here, and I've been looking at chairs for about a week with this very one in my cart for the past several days. Originally I was considering the more recent 2022 model, but that seems to have a bevy of QA issues. Out of curiosity, would the replacement wheels you reviewed a couple months back work on this as well?
ABSOLUTELY!! Immediately following this video, I put those replacement wheels on this chair and it makes it even better. It increased the height by an inch because the stock wheels it comes with are 2", and the replacement wheels really add to the experience. I highly recommend them on any chair!
Question on stability. I seen this and the other big and tall chair you reviewed: When sitting in them, does either chair wobble side to side or front to back when in the locked position? I just bought a "big and tall" gaming chair, and after getting it together, it wobbles on the pivot pin to rock back and fourth, and sided to side where the release bar goes into "lock" the chair in place from rocking.
im 2.05 in meters i guess thats around 6,3 in feet? but im also 120-125 at the moments at kilos dont know the comparison to lbs, is the xl gonna keep me steady for resting back while watching a movie? also move easily around? like few cm without lot of power to apply?
Looks great and a very straight forward review. Now, how high up does it raise to account for long legs? I'm only 6'4" but need a bar-height desk so I'm not slumped over and have been looking for a chair to fit this use case.
I appreciate it! So my inseam is 38" (which I now realize I should have included into the video, lol) and the floor to seat base is 22.8" total. Also, I added 3" caster wheels that I will show on the followup video that increase the height by another inch, so for me it's 23.8" from floor to seat height. At max height I can sit with my legs at 90 degree angles which is nice!
Two Questions Corey, do you prefer this over the AKRacing chair now? Does it feel weird not having the area under your knees supported? It looks like the seat does not have enough depth for you. Thank you for helping us tall folk out, though I'm only 6'6.
Hi Glenntuttle thanks for watching! So I've been using the Secret Lab chair for only a few days, but I can say that I already prefer it over the AKRacing chair. Mainly it is because this chair feels superior with quality of material and overall build. It feels more sturdy and strong, however I will say that since my AKRacing chair is several years old, it's tough to give a fair comparison as the original chair is well worn in, and this one is not. the Titan XL is very stiff with the cushions, but I feel like it has to be dense padding in order to last a long time for heavier folks like myself. For leg depth, it's definitely not as deep, however I haven't felt uncomfortable with the Titan because the height of the chair is so nice. Hope this helps!
6'6 355 here, do the bars on the seat itself(beneth the cushion) dig into the back of your thighs at all or is the seat wide enough to form around your legs? Thats one of my biggest issues
Not at all! The seat is actually my only complaint because it's TOO dense actually. I have had trouble breaking it in, and I sit in it 8 hours a day. but I also put a cushion on top of it to help with it, so I haven't been able to wear down to the bars below, if it even would. I don't think your concern is something this chair is going to have issues with!
I notice the seat depth looks a little short, whereas you mentioned the AKRacing chair almost reached out to the back of your knees. Would you recommend this or the AKRacing Pro?
So now that I've been using the Titan for a few weeks (and I'll definitely be doing a followup on it, with some comparisons included to the AKRacing) I have definitely noticed the lack of seat depth. However, I find that for me personally I really like the Titan's seat depth versus the AKRacing chair. A lot of people prefer to sit farther back into the chair, but it's really up to personal preference so tough to recommend one over the other in that regard. I will say that overall build quality definitely goes to the Secretlab chair. The materials are just better in every way. However, it also has an extremely dense seat that has been uncomfortable to sit on for long periods of time. So there are pros and cons to each chair. If you'd like me to dive into more detail on anything else please let me know!
I'm not really freaky tall, being 6'2, but I AM a larger person. I've been eyeballing this chair, and your review on the seat width was the main thing I wanted to hear. My main concern is the capacity. This chair is rated for 395, and I'm 405. I'm not sure how exact the weight limits are on these chairs. Do you have any suggestion?
I have the "KILLABEE" gaming chair rated at 400 lbs. I'm 270lbs and the chair has broken twice on me. Once the reclining mechanism which I rarely fully recline in. The other was the wooden part of the seat broke in half. I wouldn't recommend this chair to anyone.
Do the flanges up by the shoulder push your shoulders forward? I'm 6' 4" and most gaming chairs with the racing seats make my shoulders roll forward its very uncomfortable.
For mer personally they don't bother me much. They are angled in a way that supports the natural curve of my back around the shoulders, but don't keep them hunched forward.
How are you finding the chair now after a month of use? I'm also curious if you have tried any ergonomic chairs such as Herman Miller or steelcase gesture?
I haven't yet, but I would really like to! It's really been just because of budget that I can't try more chairs. But it's been great! I plan to do a followup video soon. The biggest complaint I have with it is how firm the seat is. I have to use a cushion as it just refuses to break in. So, great quality, but can be tough on the tailbone.
for what it's worth, i'm 6'10" 250lbs, and tried sitting in the Gesture, Leap, Embody and Aeron all this weekend. It could be that i'm just unexperienced in the world of chairs however I wasn't impressed with any of them really. i'm about to order the SL Chair here today now. Embody & Leap were just to small still. The Gesture had a nice back but didn't feel "heavy duty" enough. The Aeron (size C) was nice but the the top of the frame made it halfway up my back. I just don't see what the big deal is about with these expensive chairs at the moment!
I am! I use it daily for 7-8 hours a day and it’s still a beast and is fantastic. I actually started liking it more. I will say that the cushion has yet to wear in, but I also use a seat pad on top of it so I’m not really breaking it as much as I could. I plan to do a follow up video on it, but I still highly recommend it for the price point.
A couple years ago I reviewed and AKRacer chair that seems to be available more internationally. I just had a viewer in Australia purchase one and is very happy with it! Link below: AK Racer Review: th-cam.com/video/01MPPryasbo/w-d-xo.html
But doesn't the AK Racing Max have much longer SEAT DEPTH than the Titan XL? I'm 6'7" 255, and went with the AK chair. Added a few things: 4D armrest pads, a lower back support pillow (hated the concave 'racing posture'), and a neck rest. Oh yeah, a taller cylinder. Couldn't be more comfortable. Maybe it's just me and some peculiarity with my long legs. Even though inseam is only 36", it's all in my hips/thighs. So I'm particularly sensitive to seat depth (in cars, office chairs, etc.). From the stats, the AK Racing Max has at least 2" longer *usable* seat pan depth vs. the Titan XL, and to me that makes a world of difference.
So you're totally right; the seat depth on the AKRacing chair is definitely deeper and excels in a couple areas. Some of the things you mentioned I plan to touch on with the followup video in a few weeks. On the seat depth specifically though, I haven't found it to be an issue with the Titan personally. However, that is something that's totally dependent upon the person using and their preference. All in all, I don't think either chair is a bad choice, it just depends on what you're looking for in a chair. I appreciate the feedback as it will help when comparing the two and for future chair videos!
Currently hunting for a new chair after I had the Tilt/Support mechanism on my Vertagear PL6000 break yet again (no idea why as its rated for 400lbs). At 6'5" sub 300lbs Ive been looking at the Secret Lab Titan XL but considering I work from home using this chair 10+ hours a day easy as my work machine is also my gaming computer Im worried if the value is real for the high cost as I have heard differing reviews but given the short return period and return costs I am concerned about being $500+ in the hole with nothing to show for it.
I understand you might not want to wait for it, but I'm doing a followup video in the next couple months that'll be a review on my thoughts after over a year with it. I use it everyday for working from home, and then into the evening for gaming. Personally, I still love it and use it 90% of the time over my other gaming chair. This thing has held up well and is a beast. But look for the next video and hopefully it'll help you lean one way or the other!
@@FreakyTallReviews still contemplating at this point, hoping the xl chairs hit Amazon and somewhat worried about return shipping costs if needed. Would likely eat a large chunk of any refund.
I'm 6'6 210 pounds, I have a gaming chair from office max, and just the size of me sitting in it kinda leans the chair to one side, i'm only 210 pounds, so i would like to get a nice chair that can support me, i see your 350 pounds and that chair does not have any problems with it, if you use it for a while, i'd like to know if the chair starts leaning to one side.
That's something I've run into issues with on a lot of chairs so I will definitely be looking out for it! I always tend to lean left in my chairs and over time it permanently leans like that. I'll touch on that in the update video in a few weeks!
They might be a great chair I don't know, what I do know is, if something goes wrong with your order you are on your own. 20 emails backward and forwards and still no chair, if I knew where these people were I would go and see the MD and take it out with them.
I'm 11'6" and 2600 stones here. I've been sitting on a milker stool my grandfather used in the barn to milk cows. It's made out of wood he got from the virgin forests of northern mn. hand hewn tamarack. So far I've been really impressed with the lumbar support and the tilt has come in handy so I avoid conking my head on the air lines. I'm still smarting from the emotional thrashing meted out by the "normal" size kids at school....
Yes! It's definitely a very dense seat, but for me being 350lbs I don't mind it because I feel that it'll give me a better lifespan because it'll be tougher to wear out. There's definitely a break-in period, but I'm not sure what it is just yet. I'll be sure to provide an update on my followup video in a few weeks to see how it's doing!
There is no way your waist is a 42... TAPE MESSURE you waist, its not what your jeans say. Im 6'3 240lbs and my waist is 40-42 and its all hip bone. Looking at your gut, its MUCH larger than that. no offense, just being honest.
I have zero reason to misrepresent this, as the larger my build the more authentic my reviews become. I shared what I wear, and all body types are different with unique fits. If you feel this is inaccurate that’s totally cool and your opinion, but I have nothing to prove by saying I have a smaller waist size.
A review is a critique. Imo If you say literally 0 things that the company could've done better in your review, then it's an advertisement, sponsored or not
This review is also my opinion, and I found the chair great. A review is an examination of an object with the possibility or intent to institute change, “if necessary.” And I did not find anything necessary to change.
@@FreakyTallReviews I find it really hard to believe that in a 5 minute review you could not find a single thing you would change about a purchase. I will say that the cushion has yet to wear in, but I also use a seat pad on top of it so I’m not really breaking it as much as I could. I plan to do a follow up video on it, but I still highly recommend it for the price point.
@@FreakyTallReviews which seat pad did you go with?
What other chairs are good for tall people thats not Secret Lab? since that brand is not available in my country.
A couple years ago I reviewed and AKRacer chair that seems to be available more internationally. I just had a viewer in Australia purchase one and is very happy with it! Link below:

@@FreakyTallReviews Thank you for the advice, will check it out, cheers!
@@FreakyTallReviews Well it was your review from about a year ago that turned me on to the AK Racing Max - so thank you and subscribed!
Damn brother.... I thought I was tall at 6'-8"
Currently hunting for a new chair after I had the Tilt/Support mechanism on my Vertagear PL6000 break yet again (no idea why as its rated for 400lbs).
Just ordered a 2022 XL Evo 5 minutes ago, I'll let you know how it goes if you would like me to. I'm 6'5 245 lbs.
@@FreakyTallReviews Okay thank you
They might be a great chair I don't know, what I do know is, if something goes wrong with your order you are on your own.
I would like to know where your grandfather purchased said milk stool so that I may include it on the channel!
Hey man, been researching these chairs a ton. Something I've heard is they're really stiff and hard. Do you find the same?
I hate how this chair is made 600km from me in canada yet is cheaper stateside lol

I wish it had a foot rest
shiiii u can get this chair for 62$ now
There is no way your waist is a 42...
Imo
If you say literally 0 things that the company could've done better in your review, then it's an advertisement, sponsored or not
This review is also my opinion, and I found the chair great. A review is an examination of an object with the possibility or intent to institute change, “if necessary.” And I did not find anything necessary to change.
@@FreakyTallReviews I find it really hard to believe that in a 5 minute review you could not find a single thing you would change about a purchase. It's impossible There's always some niggling detail, and you should mention it, don't spare feelings. There's too much damn fake positivity in the world these days. Handing out perfect reviews doesn't help a company get better. I hope this review of your video helps improve videos in the future
500 bucks for a fucking chair. Jesus christ. I'll just sit on the floor.
Chair still looks small on this giant to be honest
