    A lot of action for new lights when the factory lights already look good

      Factory lights look good, but the output from them kind of sucks. Check out my comparison video for why we made the switch.

    I mean, you never show the lights on the truck without the headlights on. I just wanted to see the DRLs. I guess they are clear, or can they be configured amber...

    They look awesome. Just to confirm, will the final version simply plug into the factory harness or do you still have to run all that wiring under the hood to the battery and fusebox?

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Simon Johnson the wiring under the hood is a DRL harness. It’s not required but it does make the DRL planks brighter during the day. I would highly recommend installing the DRL harness for a better look.

    I have a question i have the nova led set for the f-150 (not raptor) they work great but since I have the automatic lights but when I drive only one side of my low beams works but when I switch the lights just to on they work great I wonder if you have any ideas for what’s happening with that?

  • @cenzo9434

    I have the alpharex pro series with sequential headlight assembly for my 2018 f150 xlt. Im having issues with the passenger side led plank keeps going out when unlock sequence or remote start is activated. Illuminates when key is in the ignition. I have thr raptor style grille lights on ny truck. That's what everyone keeps saying is the issue including alpharex techs. Is there a harness or a way around working properly during unlock sequential sequence?

    How much $$$ does Nelson charge to install them. I would be willing to drive my Raptor to the factory location. To get these installed. Great lights and always a great video from you guys.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Hobbs they don’t do installs at the factory man. The process is relatively easy. hardest part is tuning the lights.

  • @fernandosotomayor9568
    @fernandosotomayor9568 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You should color match the grill.... I colored match the raptor grill to my f150 and it makes it look 1000 times better

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Color matching is not for me man. I like the stock black look. And Since I'm on the trail all the time hitting bushes and what not it would go to waste quick.

    Can’t you upgrade the bulb and smoke the lens? Boom same thing?

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      jesse mccown not sure I understand your question. These lights when compared to the Black series have a few differences. The whole housing is black. The lens is smoked, the turn signal is clear, and the plank LEDs are much brighter. Only thing they share with the black lights is the LED pods and the rear housing.

    Help. I recently installed the alpharex Nova series on my 2018 Ford F-150. Absolutely love them. Fit and finish, and light output is awesome. The only concern I have is no matter what position I have the lights onto the main headlights always stay on except when in park. Even when the headlights is in off mode, the headlights still come on. Is this normal.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, that’s is not normal. May be they are wired wrong. Check your cabling and if that don’t work, give their support number a call. They are very helpful with things like this

      @@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Thank you for the info. Turns out the truck is Canadian. They have a law were the day time running lights never turn off. Alpharex gave me a step by step to turn them off. If that does not work I will have to use forscan. Awesome lights though.

    They sure look nice but for people that live in the salt-belt area where on winter time there is more salt then snow on the roads I would stay away from those aftermarket lights ... chemicals and salt thrown on the roads here it eats thru those aftermarket connections like hot knife thru butter.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      possibly yeah. But these aftermarket headlights are more popular in the salt belt than here in So Cal.

      @@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I have an 18 f150.xlt. just got the alpharex pro series with sequential headlight assembly. Everything is wired up correctly except maybe the ground wire from the drl harness. I have it connected to the battery neg terminal. That being said, when unlocking the truck, or remote start, the amber sequential display stops workimg on the passenger side. I also have raptor style grille lights. Works fine once key is in the ignition. Just hate walking up to my truck while in remote start and the one side is out. What could be the issue?

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cenzo9434 check the connections. There is that small plug to make the DRL planks a little brighter that could be disconnected. If that does not work, call AlphaRex. They have really great customer service

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Scott Lewis 🤣🤣 it is compared to some cheaper manufacturers. The DRL harness is optional and gives you brighter planks during the day. Some cheaper headlights require coding to fix turn signals from hyper flashing.

      Keep It Dirty Off-Road do you recommend I invest in new leaf springs and a bump stop kit? I don’t off-road a lot but when I do it’s just to the dunes never any rocky trails.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      adrian lopez if you offroad at all, your first mod should be a bump stop in the back. The stock bumps are useless and don’t protect anything. Then once you’ve played with her a while and want better performance out of the back look at leaf springs

    • @adrianlopez7474
      @adrianlopez7474 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keep It Dirty Off-Road I’ve been looking at the SVC bump kit so I might go with that. What do you recommend for the front? I have eibach springs install already

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      adrian lopez I don’t recommend the SVC Kit. It’s great for light off-roading, but serious off-roading needs a stronger kit. I highly recommend the Icon kit.
      As for the front, check out my Eibach spring review video. They are great, but to a point.

    These headlights look beautiful, but all that money and you still have to run an additional wire for the DRL's? That's not truly "plug and play". I really wish aftermarket companies would be a little more up front, and not use terms like "plug and play" when that clearly doesn't apply in this case. Granted, it's only one wire, and the headlights would still function without it, but these headlights should come with an "additional modifications may be required" disclaimer. That being said, I'm still considering these for my 2020 F150. The stock halogens suck, and these Nova midnights look 110% legit.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So the extra wire for DRLs is optional. It’s only needed to make the DRL planks brighter. You could go without it, but would not look good.

    • @Sagittarius-88
      @Sagittarius-88 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KeepItDirtyOffRoad If I purchased these headlights, which I'm leaning towards, I'd definitely go the extra distance and install the DRL wire. Of all the aftermarket headlights on the market for the F150s, the Nova series midnight editions are the best I've seen. Not only are they a huge upgrade in light output, but they are absolutely beautiful.

    Made in China ?

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everything electronic these days is made in china man. Even some of the companies that say US made, if you look closely it says Assembled in the US because they're using Chinese components. The difference is in the quality control to make sure quality components are being used and corners are not being cut. AlphaRex makes a quality product man. We've beat them up on the last truck and had no issues. and the Light out is far superior than anything out there.
