27:44 Looking at those colored crystals has a chance to unlock the corresponding mental class. Key word there is chance, you just got unlucky using that one. 28:50 The reason the primes went away so quickly is probably because they where having conflicting results. Every time you mutate it consumes a bit of primer, so repeatedly gaining and loosing the thin-skinned mutation would have wasted a lot of both primers while accomplishing very little. 29:12 There was a massive overhaul to how much power batteries store recently. The short version is they hold A LOT less than they used to. For reference, a light battery which used to hold 100 charge now holds only 22. This has also come with some changes making devices consume a bit less charge, though those only lessen the impact a bit and won't be implemented for everything. 48:00 As with a lot of the random teleport spells/powers, it only warps you to 'safe' locations. This means you won't go into a wall, but depending on this situation it might be able to send you off a ledge/into fire/into deep water/right next to a zombie so be careful when using it around hazards (still, pretty useful for escaping dangerous situations and getting into places you aren't supposed to). Calorie wise it might be worth while looking into mutation paths that would make things easier. A few different methods spring to mind -Size: having a lower body size can DRASTICALLY lower calorie needs. Obviously the best line for this would be mouse (which has the added benefit of quick stamina regen, perfect for a psychic), though if you want a less extreme size change rabbit is also an option. -Metabolism: Light eater (Fish/Bird/Troglobite/Chiropteran/Gastropod/Cephalopod/Raptor) reduces calorie consumption. -Diet: Obviously the herbivore mutation gets canceled by the carnivore mutation (Lizard/Spider/Chimera/Raptor/Feline/Batrachian/Beast/Lupine). It's also canceled by sapiovore (which can be obtaion by post-thresh ursine w/out needing carnivore) and eater of the dead (obtained by post-threshold rad and crustacean w/out needing carnivore). -Extra calorie sources / special considerations: -Sapiovore (beast/raptor/chimera/ursine/lizard/spider): eat human flesh -Saprovore (trog/chimera/gastropod/mouse): Eat rotting food -Eater of the dead (post-thresh rat/crustacean) allows eating zombie flesh -Ruminant (eat underbrush and shrubs(this may or may not work in winter)): cattle, rabbit. Upgrades to grazer post-threshold on both with also allows eating grass. -Alchohol metabolism (trog): Not entirely sure how this one works, isn't alcohols calorie-dense anyways? Anyways, probably VERY good for someone with an endless flask of vodka. -Leaves (plant/elf-a) / lush leaves (post-thresh plant): Supposedly provides a small amount of calories while in sunlight. I've seen several PRs changing this back and forth, so I'm not sure if it will actually work anymore. Also probably not an amazing option for dusk anyways for obvious reasons. -rooter (plant) / Chloromorphosis (post-thresh plant): gain nutrients while on diggable terrain -hibernation (ursine): sleep through the winter IMO your two best options are trog and mouse. -trogolobite (light eater + alcohol metabolism + saprovore) Overall trog has the lower impact (since you pretty much have all of it's downsides anyways) but what it does have left to offer (full night vision, regeneration, venomous, etc.) could be quite nice for dusk. -mouse (little + saprovore) Mouse is a much higher impact overall both positive and negative. Little, along with making calorie needs a joke, also lessens carry weight, max hp and makes clothing need to be refitted. But mouse also has massive stamina benefits (which could make dusk a very deadly psychic), a big increase to movement speed, significantly improved dodging, and the ability to ignore thirst needs entirely. Both increase night vision (though trog gets the better full night vision trait) and stealth (though mouse's is better and less situational) making them a great fit for Dusks night raiding game plan. If you can find it the expanded digestive system CBM removes all stomach/diet mutations (both positive and negative, though this does not include metabolism changes) and gives you more calories when eating.
Maintaining concentration on Psychic power absolutely does consume calories, along with using them initially. Worse, the calorie tracker doesn't track this, the powers delete the calories directly.
I don't think it's bad, just helpful to know when trying to maintain weight. How would a fitness band know that you are burning calories with magic mind mojo? If you could manage to track it, it should probably be matrix tech from one of the MoM labs.
That Lesser Quantum Tunnel saved me from falling from a tower...cast it in mid air and it put me back inside the tower on the floor I got shoved out of.
You probably have to take the hydration pack out of whatever it's stored in. If it's inside a small container, that is inside something else it doesn't get pulled out automatically and can't expand??
I would not suggest updating any more until the batteries and ui are sorted out. The Spells no longer list the components needed, the domination spell uses three Animist runes for every cast. That said it's an absolutely great spell to have and as you level it up it hits in an aoe, it saved my life when three hulks and a horde of other zombies crashed into the basement i was hiding in and i was able to catch two of the hulks and a caustic soldier with it. Loki's staff is the most over powered weapon in the game, not only is it a decent melee weapon but it also allows you to cast etheral grasp at level 10 infinitely for free, that's a massive aoe that damages and slows. Once I got it I could just walk into cities in broad daylight and I only had to draw my sword for the more heavily armored ones, the rest just die at no resource cost.
11:14 burning down the forest would probably also make Dusk happy if they still have the pyromaniac trait just need to make sure you don't burn yourself or get swarmed by undead drawn to the fire
It could be a good idea to shift to magic and weapons more and only use your most tactically helpful psychic powers to save on calories while needing so many (particularly while you have feeding restrictions) like for example mindhammer is great and all, but attacking through solid objects such as walls seems like its strength, while just using it as a normal attack when you could use a firearm, melee weapon, magic or unarmed will probably add up to calories that you didn't need to spend in the first place (you force shove the feral radiant as I write this, probably another draw on your energy) This isn't a world where NPCs survive long, I get you might want a home for them to stay at instead of while living nomadically, but I wish Dusk would've tried to reach out to a certain Bone Seer, I don't know if she's even alive anymore but furthermore don't forget that Dusk has been incredibly lonely to the point of minus 99% happiness, if everyone is gonna die anyway maybe talk to them beforehand so Dusk isn't so sad in between lol
