It's unprecedented for an actress to ever come forward, _after_ a film's been released, about their discomfort with intimate scenes, regardless of how inappropriately they were treated or how much criticism the film received as a result. All criticism also falls squarely on female talent. It always has, always will. Knowing this industry, she very likely would've been laughed out of getting any serious roles had Baldoni's cut seen the light of day. Arbitrary and excessive nudity of female talent in anything that's not high art, destroys their reputation, and "cheapens" them in the eyes of the most male dominated industry in the world.

Love the part where you talked about the PR team. It is like saying someone is guilty because they ask for a lawyer. Guilty or innocent, having a PR team makes sense.
Actually, it’s pretty uncommon for a person who’s not super duper famous to have a crisis pr team lol, it’s not a common place thing. Dude was worried and he based on what I’m reading in her complaint, I can see why.
Literally so true, most celebrities even have PR people as permanent parts of their teams, specially when they're out there on social media and all that.
In some of the commentaries online, it was said that Sony picked the main actress for the movie so wayfarer had to agree if they wanted to work with Sony to get this movie done. This would explain the tight relationship between Sony and BL and why they always agreed to all her demands.
Plot twist: It was Sony all along. They realized how doomed the movie was because it was a Colleen Hoover adaptation, so they pitted JB and BL against each other to draw more people to the movie. And Ryan was thrown in there too for some reason I guess idk.
Colleen Hoover pushed JB to cast BL as the role for Lily. She stated, “She’s who she envisioned playing Lily”. She is also a huge fan since BL’s GG days
Not that this matters in the grand scheme of things, but this complaint has a bunch of little typos. Like at 28:07 it says "Ms. Baldoni" instead of Ms. Lively. Like personally, I know my grammar isn't great but I'm not a lawyer representing a client. This entire thing is so messy.
How many twists are gonna be in this fricking story?? In a few weeks we'll have "Lively vs Baldoni Pt. 52" 💀💀💀 (Absolutely love your content though, thanks for keeping me up to date 💕💕)
She did it backwards. She just refused to read the NYT article (she outright said it in the pro-Baldoni vid) or the initial lawsuit, then made an entire video the day Baldoni filed his Depp-esque anti-free speech & journalism lawsuit against the NYT... Taking his side because it's lucrative to dogpile and sensationalize on YT. And people love to hate women, as Baldoni's publicist stated outright at the shocking success of her low effort smear campaign of Lively.
I'm confused as to why the intimacy coordinator would not be scheduled to be present during the filming and would only be available for meetings prior to filming. There should have been no need for Baldoni to tell Lively what the intimacy coordinator said if they were available on set during shooting.
@tayinabyss yes, but her requests that they agreed to says to have the intimacy coordinator on-set, not just available for meetings. Her reply to Baldoni's message reads that she would meet with the coordinator when they started filming instead of before. Why wouldn't the intimacy coordinator be available during filming?
THIS also why be this sensitive about weight? it should be common knowledge that people can weigh more but still be "fit" due to bone density, height, and muscle mass. i don't get the obsession with this point. it's not like he's calling a pregnant woman fat or something untoward like that
@@jakobm1291I think it’s wild too bc she’s an actor which in a lot of circumstances it absolutely matters what they look like so why be sensitive or offended when asked what you weigh? And isn’t it usually standard for actors to have their dimensions along with their headshots? I get she’s a little past the point of needing those to be cast but come on.
A lot of the things alleged should have a paper trail (how which cut that ended being used was picked, meetings with intimacy coordinator, crew members getting fired etc) so I hope discovery will bring some clarity about that.
@@kyramoonrise9064 it's crazy, right? Going through discovery will be damaging for both I assume. And all this mess made the chances of a successful sequel literally 0
Starting each one with "NO MORE" is because Blake and Ryan think it's funny to keep ridiculing and degrading the NO MORE charity that Justin supports, because they are sick and without a moral compass. No More is a women's charity against abuse that Justin made a deal, a certain percentage of the movie proceeds would go to. You can see why Blake and Ryan went with abuse allegations to try to hurt Justin. He has spent long years involved in this stuff and they knew if they hit him there and made fun of his hippy dippy ways, they could sink him while Blake played the victim. Oh my, looks like the public aren't as dumb as you think we are.
That explains something that didn't make sense to me. Also explains why Baldoni's side said that they hadn't seen that list before it showed up in the complaint.
8:53 Thank you! 👏 i was SHOCKED when Sloan said that Baldoni should just apologize instead of defend himself. Especially because the video was trying to be both sides about the situation (and that's fine) but like you said it doesnt make sense to treat it like a "gotcha" moment
I don't believe a word BL says after she claimed they showed porn on set, then it was actually a birth video that related to the scene she was shooting in the movie. Or the fact she claimed he came into her trailer unwelcomed while she was breast feeding or pumping, when text messages prove she wanted him to come and rehearse while she was pumping. She blows things way out of context for her own self-interests. Either that or she might suffer from some kind of strange paranoia. The fact is some of these things she is complaining about will more than likely be edited out film that was used while shooting the movie.
Agreed. She joined dozens of other celebrities online to promote public breastfeeding and pumping. Yet, in her complaint, she feels "exposed" and "vulnerable with her newborn" if viewed breastfeeding and goes to "private spaces" in which she apparently doesn't use the locks throughout filming.
@@Living_Dead_Girrl A bot account often has a recent creation date. That's not the case with the people to whom you are responding here. In Baldoni's NYT lawsuit, there's a text in which he forbids any astroturfing from his PR staff.

My biggest question: Was the intimacy coordinator on set the days they shot the intimate scenes? If not, that’s weird and I’d like to know why. If they were present, why was Blake not communicating to them?
I think Blake saw an easy target in JB. I mean what was he ever going to do, argue with his female star on the DV movie? He painted himself into a powerless corner, and she exploited that imo.
He was just being himself. She just undermined his considerate ways. Thats why theres a complaint in california. There was never gonna be a lawsuit. She just wanted to tarnish him. When she actually filed it was reactive and not even in california. That speakes for itself
@ yeah definitely agree. I actually hate it when people exploit people trying to do the right thing, like this. It may have ended with them, but it started with Colleen Hoover, exploiting trauma, sexism and abuse so terribly in the first place. I’m just sorry that JB was so misguided into claiming this book as his movie, when there are so many real stories far more inspiring and moving he could have fought for. That being said i would love to watch his edit. I wonder if it all ties up in a nice little bow like this one did? I mean Blake even turned lily into a privileged grown woman, when she was supposed to be a younger, vulnerable and powerless in her situation Sorry for the rant lol the whole thing is just the worst kind of representation people who have experienced DV need… second to Katy Perry i guess 😅
I love your videos Giulia! You're one of my favorite TH-camrs. You are very insightful and you speak so intentionally. I feel like I get smarter every time I watch one of your videos. You speak better English than I do and I'm from North Carolina! Thank you for being you!
She claimed that Justin Baldoni was harassing a minor during the making of the movie but in reality the actress who played young lilly is 23 ... there's no need to distorted facts when you are telling the truth 🤥🐍
In one of her interviews where the video of her pulling him in is mentioned, she said that there WAS an intimacy coordinator, and it shouldnt have been her.
And the way she was SOOO obviously shaken by HOW the reporter “knew that”. And her face when the Coleen H. sitting next to her, tells her that she saw that in TikTok too. This situation gets more obvious each day.
@@kyramoonrise9064 Do you think she felt caught red handed or....? It was an interesting moment as if she lost control for a sec. And Coleen obliviously confirming with smile...I loved that segment!
Honestly BL’s complaints seem suss to me. Like the dialogue she says Baldoni and friends used and the actions they took sounds like a poorly written script. Like she tried to figure out what things will get people riled up the most. Like Baldoni trying to send her to a weight loss specialist under the guise of a health and wellness for her strep throat. Like did he not think she would notice that the person was trying to get her to lose weight. It just doesn’t make sense from the point of view of a) baldoni’s track record is extensive and well documented and no one - either coworkers, staff or fans have ever said anything negative about him - they’ve actually gone out of their way to say how positive their interactions have been and b) it paints he and his friends to be like stereotypical grapey frat boys who came in swinging their weight and power. But this is literally the first major film deal Baldoni and his company had ever done. Previously all his other movies were small indie ones. It truly makes no sense that they would jeopardise this moment and piss off Sony just so they can make gross and sexual comments to the female lead who just so happens to be Ryan Reynolds wife. And seeing as from the get go she was able to throw her weight around to take over the wardrobe, it meant she had power on set. I’ll be waiting for depositions of the alleged multiple witnesses BL says she has to these numerous incidents.
It’s much more likely that he in fact recommended the doctor for the thing she asked. Even if a doctor is known to specialize in one thing doesn’t mean they didn’t go to medical school and have the ability to handle simple things like strep throat. She’s not getting any thinner in two weeks, so the idea he was trying to do that was absurd. I think she was negatively fixated on her own weight and filtered a bunch of things through that.
There is a video of them filming on the street and BL forcefully grabs JB and pulls him and presses him against her body (as in to demonstrate how she wants a scene to look like). HOW is that not SH???
Whatever is true or ficticious, to me this situation proves one way it all could have been avoided: Stay in your role and maintain professional boundaries.
People dont know that ryan renolds has his own PR company. They are pissed at baldoni for hiring crisis management when they have had people for that for years. Ryan even gave an interview about his late dad to deflect criticism from Blake
I remember when that interview came out and how out of place it seemed. Specially since his dad had passed away 9 years prior. It was PR. They both used PR to control their image. That's Hollywood. So when the complaint came out I was baffled.
Thank you for making this video. I really dislike her, but it's so important to show both sides, especially since everything has been he-said-she-said.
Thank you anybody that’s lived through some type of abuse in any capacity can recognize her behaviors and words and know in their soul. The thing is all violence is about power and control and it sounds like Justin had none of that. He gave it all up to Blake so that’s what’s so confusing.
I just hate that people are equating this case with Depp vs Heard and claiming still that Amber Heard is a victim after all the proof we had that she was lying about a lot of the facts. Nobody is saying Depp is completely innocent but 2 years later presenting Amber as some innocent victim is just ridiculous.
I don't think anyone is presenting her as an innocent victim- if anything they're saying she was far from perfect. Depp's demarcation case swayed public opinion from facts that he was a bigger abuser than he let on
I hate that people are still claiming that Johnny Depp is a victim after all the documented cases of him lying and changing his story. Nobody is saying that Amber is an innocent saint and a perfect victim, but presenting Johnny as a saint and a good-hearted guy is ridiculous.
😔 this is all a mess. The last part about Blake losing money is the part that really has me questioning the most. That part was all on her. She is so tone def and has no respect for the people see deems beneath her. The trailer thing was day 2 according to the complaint. She had nothing to say until she used a movie about DV sell over priced hair care products and booze. The women that were helped by this book were the fans most upset. I didn’t see the movie are read the book. I will say before the movie was released, there were women all over talking about showing them an abusive relationship. I only had to see her stupid “wear your florals” idiocy, I became confused. I had been told the book takes the subject more serious. Without any info from anyone else, I was shocked. If I was triggered by DV scenes and went to see a romcom, I’d be so upset. This is a mess. No victim is perfect, but her likability is all on her. People didn’t buy her stupid brands because her marketing tactic was awful IMO. Let’s go on and name a cocktail after the violent abuse while we wear are florals. 😒 okay.
Blake was getting slammed by the public and she assumed he started it and this was her revenge. Now it has completely back fired on her and she’s going to owe him tons of money
Ngl the list comes off as very...basically why tf is she going to be an actress in a movie about DV including sa if these things being even discussed in relation to the film make her seemingly super uncomfortable? Why didn't she just say "hire an actress okay with these things" instead of understanding that some of this stuff is more or less part of the story itself? Blake comes off as wanting to be in every position but her own and then makes the issues things that literally revolve around things happening to her character-- I may be completely misreading into the whole thing but it feels like a majority of this would've been resolved if they just fired Blake and replaced here with a more seasoned actress that was willing to be in the same room as the intimacy coordinator.
Had Blake just agreed to do the live scenes as written and not demanded in her contract that she be allowed to help write them the none of that sexual conversation would have ever had to be had. I have no idea what Blake imagined conversations about personalizing love scenes entails besides talking about sex lol.
I blame my ADHD for crying when my hands are sticky, taking instructions too literal, and my craft supply hoarding.. not for asking inappropriate questions. That’s a “shit Mira, YOU KNOW BETTER” and change my way of thinking/acting after learning better.
It does create some social issues though and I think oversharing is a common issue. I often get pelle assuming I am meaning something I am not at all, sometimes they think I mean the exact opposite!!
As a fellow ADHDer, I was straight-up confused and offended by both his ridiculous weaponization of ADHD & his inappropriate and inaccurate ASD-appropriated terminology he tried to attribute to ADHD. This just further stigmatizes our already extremely stigmatized diagnosis. We aren't "neurodivergent" or inept to social cues, if anything we're extremely sensitive to social cues and have higher than avg social intelligence, which can cause more anxiety when you get too much in your own head. And as the commenter above brought-up, it's really the over sharing and lack of impulse control that can cause issues when it comes to socializing and maintaining friendships. And to clarify for those who don't have ADHD, over sharing means talking too much about things that are either, perhaps, too personal too soon, or are random tangentially-related topics we get too passionate about (or distract ourselves into). Over sharing has nothing to do with being inappropriate, or physically "sharing" content of a personal nature like that weird birthing video. We're not monsters. And while we are weird (seriously, who isn't?), we're the good kind of weird. The kind of weird that's given society some of its favorite songs, music genres, movies, performances, comedy, etc. Kurt Cobain y'all, and so, so many more brilliant artists with 80HD. And yus on the craft supplies hoarding 🙌🏻 I'm just proud of my extensive organizing of it all (for me it's jewelry making supplies), when the rest of my life and apt very much aren't lol.
@@NotAnotherKuromiThere’s a reason the process for dealing with issues of this kind in the workplace is to file a complaint and give someone a chance to clear up the issue and not to have your husband scream at them, extort the company then make the issue public. Many of these things sound like misunderstandings easily cleared up by going through the piper channels and Blake signed off that after she confronted him and hid business partner about these issues they stopped doing all the things listed and the filming completed without issue.
Also my question - is it preferable for her to have a friend of the director in that role where she is apparently feeling so vulnerable, or would she had preferred a total stranger?
Not to mention the alcoholic beverages too!!! With one drink named after the abusive character’s name?? I mean, in what world can JB be blamed for these type of horrid decisions? Ultimately, that’s part of what really cost her all those losses she’s trying to sue him for. It infuriates me how she assumes we, the public are THAT stupid not to rationalize that.
@@kyramoonrise9064 Exactly! Blake has buried her own career, but being the narcissistic she is, it must be someone else's fault and Justin is her convenient scapegoat.
Here's the thing no one made Blake look bad except for Blake and maybe calling because most people didn't like her either. Can I have a beef with baldoni for supporting Colleen too. But Blake supported Woody Allen I called him empowering way before this. So she already put that Target on her head
I don’t fully believe either of them, so the commentators who have been leaning too much one way or another are very off putting to me. Especially the ones framing it as “if you don’t believe Blake Lively you’re not a feminist.” Like, F off 😂
Emily D. Baker did a 6h reading of all 3 court cases. The text messages are a joke 😂😂😂. I think everything would be much easier if Baldoni would kick her out if she was acting like a diva, just bc of him letting Blake get over his head with all the editing, clothing, all the sh1tshow. The fuck she's editing the movie? Both are clowns clowning, one being creepy and opening their mouth too much, and the other trying to manipulate everything because her hubby is who he is. I think the only ones that know the truth are the crew and stuff that was with them in that moment. Is easy to hate on Blake because of her previous actions and diva acting? Sure. Is Justin a lil creep oversharing and apparently crossing boundaries? If the allegations are true, then yep.
It was Sony who insisted on Blake, and there were distributing the film and providing much of the funding. He didn’t have the choice of getting rid of her, and had he done that after she made any kind of complaint that could be considered sexual harassment, he the risk of being sued for retaliation. Already she’s suing him for retaliation and he didn’t even fire her. She called a meeting while breastfeeding and accused Heath of trying to cop a peek on the second day of filming.
I think it’s possible that more than one thing can be true at once. Justin is a creepy guy and Blake is a difficult person to work with… wow what a crazy concept.
Okay, but him trying to show her his wife's birth feels very mansplain-y to me. BL is a mother... she has given birth. He doesn't need to show her someone else's, and it feels like the only reason to do that is because he thinks his wife's was better than BLs and somehow her own experience must be wrong. As someone who is pregnant, that just really gives me the misogynist ick.
Lively having given birth means that she knows how giving birth feels to her. Doesn't mean that she knows what it looks like though. Also there are many different ways to give birth, the video Heath had was of a water birth and it appears that that isn't a way that Lively gave birth. Using your logic the birth scene should have looked exactly like Lively gave birth as that is what her experience is.
@@amandamandamands 1. Has the woman in the video, who was giving birth, given consent for the video to be shown to anybody? And even if: 2. Has Blake consented to seeing the video? Only then move onto thinking about other things. People don't have to see others naked, if they don't wish to see them. It's highly inappropriate in a work place. You have also assumed that BL has no idea what birth looks like, as opposed to being the one birthing. How do you know she doesn't know?
@@InsoIence Yes the person in the video gave permission, the showing of the video was in context of talking about a birth scene so it is relevant. Also I didn't say that she definitely hadn't seen a birth, just that people were saying that she gave birth so therefore she knew what was happening. Again there are many different ways to give birth, everyone seems to assume that because Blake has given birth then she knows everything to do with every way to give birth and what all of them look like.
They're discussing intimate scenes during creative input discussions. Is this harassment? As well, the director has creative freedom to add changes to a scene -- and that includes changing dialogue and adding new elements to the scene. Lively literally stifles his role when she has them sign off on a document preventing them from doing anything that isn't in the original script.
I don't know who's right and who's wrong about what, but I feel like there were several times when Lively could've just said "No," but she didn't on purpose just because she knew she could use it to accuse Baldoni of being inappropriate later. She wasn't exactly timid about anything else, so although I get that a lot of women have a hard time saying no, I can't IMAGINE that she did, at least not in every one of these instances. So it's sort of like entrapment. However, if even a few of the things alleged against Baldoni are true, he is DISGUSTING. Should be an interesting trial.
My question is how often does this type behavior and conduct occur on movie sets where the actors involved never report or speak of the offers actions, due in large part out of fear of retaliation, job loss, negatively impacting the promotion of the film, etc, etc. and had this targeted pr strategy/ takedown of Blake lively never occurred, would she have gone public with these allegations?
"Nobody is a good guy here" can... Can we *please* just say sexually harassing your coworkers is WAY worse than being annoying or tone deaf? Like it's not even close and the fact that so many people are equating them is EXACTLY why this kind of thing keeps happening.
💯 female misogyny is disgusting- & far more common. I almost unsubbed last vid. First it was Heard. Then Jolie. Now Blake. All the same players. Like let's be FR
sexual harassment is such a vague term that can reference varying degrees of harassment, and to say that's "way worse" (without knowing the details) than being "annoying" (understating the accusations against her). How do you take a nuanced statement and twist it like that. They both suck balls, hope that helps
Yep, very Hollywood, both not in a good way. Although, I believe Baldoni, just a tad more than Lively, because I have seen him in many TH-cam videos and interviews, talking about his worldview. And it’s closer to mine. Except, I don’t fully agree with him on everything. Plus, I do believe Lively lied more. Hers is just too plain to see, money, controlling others and superficial things. Her biggest claim to fame is been good friends with Taylor Swift, currently. She has a good husband and four children, those may be the only parts of her I really respect, and also, actually, liked her non alcoholic, carbonated drinks brand. Except, Reynolds bias for her was a mayor disappointment, although understandable. And since Lively came to fame in the tv series and Baldoni did, in less obvious ways, for me mostly his interviews. Hers mayor. His minor fame. Overall, I am more of a fan of Baldoni. Used to like Reynolds. Especially, because of the Deadpool & Wolverine movie. But now, not so much. Only will follow Baldoni’s efforts to make filmed storytelling that does good in the world like he hopes to do. In his interviews with Rainn Wilson, is where I grew to respect he is a good human, flawed, but good.
Damn, and I thought the Johnny and Amber situation was exhausting. I knew something like this was going to escalate even further. Justin Baldoni seems to be providing evidence (correct me if I'm wrong). Blake Lively seems to be getting more heat than Justin
Her marketing of that film was egregious. I'm not even a DV survivor and I can't imagine how taken aback I would be if I thought I was going to see a cute romcom (based on what Lively said) and I'm actually watching something about DV. Now imagine you are a survivor. So irresponsible to not make that clear.
I dont believe her, you do the best research on this out of everyone ive watched on this subject, Blake Lively had way to much power shes gaslighting, Blake Lively seems very sensitive about her weight
I think you're way too much on the fence. Overall Baldoni has simply admitted to a lot of the claims Blake has made. I'm also worried how the 'both are not angels' narrative implicitly equals SA to 'being mean'. If it is apparantly fair game to SA a woman who behaves like a 'mean girl', where are we going?
"These people seem very Hollywood and not in a good way" does sum up what I feel about this. Not about the actual accusations, but the way this is handled. I don't like either actor much... but I am curious to see what turns out to be the truth at the end - if we ever find out.
It's weird that there are no witnesses though. I mean, movie set is packed with people, it's not just two of them. There has to be people who have seen or heard whatever BL said happened. There is no way that he forced some sex scenes or told her some creepy things on set and no one heard it or seen it or thought that was inappropriate or weird. It's hard to say who is lying here, but if BL tells the truth, she must have a lot of people who heard and saw things. And what I really don't get... these people have everything! They have loads of money, fame, they even look great, why would actor/director risk all that to mistreat an actress in his movie? How stupid he would have to be? And why not enjoy super-privileged lives they have, instead they are always petty and miserable, and fighting, and rude and even mean... What's wrong with these people? Saying as someone who literally has no bed. Is it so hard to be decent?
Rolling Stone interviewed crew members who said they saw zero drama. They said Baldoni was a "super nice guy" who tried to create a warm environment and always came in positive and who took the time to chat with crew members. They said Baldoni and Lively had very different styles, his more artistic and laissez-faire and hers more business-like with her hands on everything. Crew members said it was apparent they didn't like each other, but they were always amicable. After photos of Lively on set were made public, they noticed that she seemed to lose motivation and they rarely saw her on set after that.
@@biljam972 Sorry for the length .... IMO, photos/videos of Lively on the set with Baldoni were leaked and RR was triggered. If you google "RR's depression and anxiety", you'll see he has a history. He and is wife were also postpartum (she'd recently had a baby, so both or either one could exhibit signs of some depression, jealousy, etc). I think RR felt very threatened by Baldoni (a guy who's very open, 6'2", younger, hotter and who was going to be in intimate scenes with RR's wife in which Baldoni would direct how they went, which means Baldoni could deviate from script to pursue his vision), and RR wanted to use his clout in the industry to take Baldoni down a few notches. He became obsessive -- convincing his wife Baldoni was disrespecting her by fat shaming her and sexually harassing her, manipulating the cast members and the author to "choose sides", etc etc etc until the point where RR and BL have Baldoni's image and "A Film By" movie credit off movie posters and the separation at the premiere where RR and Jackman and Wolverine cast were featured with the cast of "IEWU" while Baldoni and his guests were forced to be elsewhere entirely separate. The lawsuit is just more "hostile takeover", and RR is after the rights to the sequel. There are a couple of things that brought me to checking on RR's mental health history ... 1) the despicable Nicepool stuff where the Reynolds' characters assassinate the character used to troll Baldoni in the movie (there's no question that's what they were doing when one sees the outtake as well about Nicepool stating his calling is to "start a podcast and monetize the women's movement") and 2) the FB video "Jealous Ryan Reynolds interrogates Brandon Sklenar" where RR and Jackman make light of it with Sklenar, but I think Baldoni was in RR's mind when they made that clip. Jackman just enables his friend rather than sit him down and tell him he's going off the deep end with this stuff.
@@mrsmagoo5710 possibly. But why be jealous when they have like 3 children? I mean, they are married for some time, have children, jealousy is kind of sick and destroys lives. "Mr Baldoni was doing shit that had nothing to do with his role". Did it really have nothing to do with it or was she so hell bent on changing shit from the go that she didn't even know what the original script and story were?
When BL was doing press i got a little funny feeling that she was avoiding DV questions like someone who is right in the thick of it. I was genuinely concerned for her, and i still wonder if this is the case and she is lashing out on someone else by potentially narrating her alleged abusers opinions? Ie: she says “come on in I’m just pumping” her husband hears about this and pulls rank. Just something to think about.
I mean maybe but she has a long history of uncomfortable issues with costars who are known to be easy to work with in the industry. I can that be a possibility as well
Nah, she claims she was asked to avoid DV questions in the press tour by higher ups. I think she just isn't charismatic or socially adept enough to make it smooth and not sound/look awkward.
@@NotAnotherKuromiI think she just tends to pass the buck. When the studio wanted her to west something she didn’t want to wear she pulled rank. When Justin’s cut of the film scored higher with audiences she threatened to refuse to promote the film and got her way. I'm curious how come you dont watch the movie when covering this topic. You seem great at describing everything and I appreciate the video, but "I havent seen the movie" sounds a bit unserious, I think.
Couldn’t Baldoni just say “I can’t lift anything over X amount of lbs” instead of asking a woman who was four months post partum what their weight is? I know he didn’t directly ask her but it’s freaking weird and yeah… I think he wanted to know what her weight was for other reasons aside from his back.
I'm guessing Baldoni had no idea what she looked like under all those Carhartt farmer jackets and voluminous clothing choices, and he probably wasn't sure what to expect for the intimate and birthing scenes.
I read that it wasn't due to a weight limit but having to prepare/ train his muscles for a certain weight :) And considering he would be lifting Lively he would have to know her weight so he could train for it! Though we don't know how it was handled behind the scenes and it is possible he approached it in a bad way. Asking people's weight should always be done w caution and only when needed :p
Chapter 22: "Ryle walks over to her without responding. He kisses Lily and lifts her up onto the counter." In Chapter 23 of the book, Atlas picks Lily up when he's getting her to the hospital.
The refilming the kiss over and over bit. Didn't Kubrick make poor Shelley walk up those stairs like 150+ times? Directors being a bit neurotic about getting the take perfect, is not new.
I totally agree that no one in this situation is in the right. It also feels like a lot more consequential Don't Worry Darling with all the drama that came from the movie and sets
I don't know if I'd subscribe to the no-right-side argument. Baldoni is an off-putting dude and I'd probably have an awful time if I happened to share a table with him at a wedding party. Lively and her husband, on the other hand, not only have been utterly despicable throughout the whole ordeal, but the fact that she's disclosing her behind-the-scenes stories just now has me believe she's gaming the principle of believing the victims in cases of this nature. And their reaction to these very serious allegations at the time was to include a whimsical character in the Deadpool movie? Come on.
How did she let all this slide during production?? if someone has already committed multiple violations of privacy and has committed SA while filming why didn’t she take legal action?… for the sake of a mediocre film that was bigger deal in to her then what it ended up being. It’s questionable at best that she didn’t legally step in especially since she claims that other crew members were also harassed she has way more power then them and allowed it to occur when it was convenient for her all for the sake of profit and a director’s credit. All I’m saying is that she wasn’t powerless on set in front of these two men they couldn’t just make her do whatever they wanted, her husband is Ryan Reynolds she could have dealt with anyone putting her in a vulnerable position. I just find it hard to believe she wouldn’t have done anything about the SA she accused them of if things went according to her plan in terms of the movie release.
@ that’s my point she wasn’t in constant threat or conditioned by long standing abuse or had limited resources she’s a well positioned millionaire within the industry who has all the support to do something had she wanted to just like she is now you can’t say that she had the same limitations as any other person enduring serious abuse also like stated in the video most of the things she’s clumping together aren’t serious at all or are things that just describe something that happened leaving ppl to draw their conclusions in her favour
@@maddie5131 "well positioned millionaires" are still humans. a woman who is experiencing patterns of male behavior that make her uncomfortable may not speak out at all, or in the ways you personally approve of, no matter how much money she does or doesn't have.
That is just wrong and anti-intersectional. You cannot ignore her wealth, power, and the other alleged victims who would not have that power. it's almost the entire point that baldoni had more power over his crew, so why is that relevant, but not that she was an actress with enough power to overtake the entire production? You're telling me she had enough sense to do a hostile takeover, but not get justice for any of the people victimized by the man she's targeting? @@alyssa9871
@@alyssa9871asking "why didn't she leave if she was being abused?" is victim blaming. Asking "why did she have her husband yell at baldoni, steal his entire production, and keep his name attached to the film despite apparently sexually harassing multiple women on set?" Is not. me being a victim doesn't give me an excuse to ignore and silence other victims, which she would allegedly be doing since she did so much publicity for the movie and her own brand. Money > justice, unless it comes to her public image.
The tricky part is both people are wrong in different ways. Baldoni is a creep and Lively is a mean person. So Lively is clearly less wrong but still hard to empathize with
Taking all of this with a grain of salt because everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law but the kiss that had to be re recorded over and over again that Blake lively reported was recorded way too many times. That couldn't have had to be re-recorded several times over and over to get it right because she didn't show up to the rehearsal with the intimacy coordinator? Intimacy in a movie is the same as dancing. There's choreography involved. If a person didn't learn the choreography then they probably would have to do it over and over and over again until they got it right.
I will say that of course some things like her weight being a topic seems tedious but some details in Cassie’s allegations were tedious as well as Amber heard but it paints the picture of casual insult and tactless business practices that are ultimately all part of an underlying patriarchal control issue on Baldoni’s part that he either is not aware he is doing because he is so convinced he is a feminist or he intentionally cultivates a feminist persona to get away with being frankly a dick
I would like to believe BL but after seeing hers and JB’s claims I feel like his sticks more to facts and has proof while hers is more abstract and feels a bit more in bad faith with all the extra commentary that has nothing to do with his current alleged behavior… I honestly don’t know who to believe because there’s little proof of anything, but this is my initial impression based on what’s being said.
I believed Baldoni because of the proof he provided. However, the fact that they signed on her demands list is puzzling. If he didn't do anything, why would they legally agree to a list that implies he did terrible things? It does seem like they are all just terrible. Hard to draw conclusions, but the amount of smoke on both sides makes me believe they both did bad things. The problem is that we don't know what exactly they did or did not do, and given the seriousness of the claims, that information would change everything.
His side said that they hadn't seen the list of demands that was in the complaint before they saw it in the complaint. They did say that they signed a list of demands but that they didn't see an issue with it at the time because most of the things were already happening and the couple that weren't were easy to do. It didn't occur to them that it would be weaponised like this. There were representatives from Wayfair and Sony there so it should be easy to factcheck what was actually agreed to if it goes to court.
I read her whole complaint. The real list of 17 that Jamey signed seemed reasonable and didn't admit to guilt, just that those protections would be best for all parties moving forward. The fake 30 "No More" list is stuff she never mentioned until the NYT article designed to deceive the reader, just like the altered text messages. Her team is now claiming the list was discussed in the meeting. I call BS. If that 30-point list was shown and agreed to, it would have been signed, like the 17 point list. People confusing the two is exactly what her lawyer and PR firm wanted though.
I generally agree with you on most things but you've been defending this guy way too hard, at this point he's clearly a creep... does not absolve BL from being a catty snob. Both can be true at the same time.
@ @ they were actors working on their characters in a movie about romance turn into DV. Actors use their own experience to deepen their characters you know. How else could they create believable intimate scenes????So it should have been normal discussion given the circumstances.
i'm honestly starting to wonder if this is turning into a depp/head type of situation, i've watched a video by the amazing Bryony Claire on the matter the other day (it was made before Baldoni's came out with receipts tho) on the matter and the general dynamic in these types of scandals, i feel like it is a great complementary video to your reporting so just in case you're interested : th-cam.com/video/Z-I2yZyQcx0/w-d-xo.html
Blake Lively's (potential) behavior aside, I still get a creepy vibe from Baldoni. I can't put my finger on it but he just seems manipulative and predatory.
@@SonderDAzeX I've never seen any films he's been in, I'm simply going on the interviews I've seen with him. I dunno... I just get a weird vibe from him.
We know that baldoni went through the me-too movement and that his experience in his career has been awful. He is what I would consider a survivor. He has a unique perspective on what would sell this movie. I don't think it was wrong of him to decide to use that to promote work that he felt was important in that field. I also don't begrudge him getting a PR team to get out ahead of someone who's trying to say he's doing the things that were done to him. We'll see all of this in court if we get that far so I'm not going to sit here and say I'm on his side. I'm just saying that I can understand if a survivor is being blamed for abusive behavior that they would want to tell the world that they're not abusing people. A survivor of abuse has a specific right to be louder than everyone else on this subject.
i understand what ur saying about the weight thingy being less serious but i think for blake it seriously hurt her bc for women in hollywood the societal pressures to look good are so intense
Sure you can be insecure about your weight but she should have been more of an adult in that situation because it is part of her work. She acted like a child and threw a tantrum with Reynolds acting like a parent.
But it is also part of her Job to fit the characteristics of the role she signed up for, similar to athletes. The whole problem IMO is that she didn’t know her character and the concept of the movie well.
Sure which might have caused her to overreact at first but she should have calmed down and apologized. Even talked to a therapist about it to help gain a more level view of the situation. However she seems to have escalated and blown it way out of proportion.
The thing is she is 5'10", even if someone doesn't have a back injury if they haven't been training for it there is a possibility that they wouldn't be able to lift her.
To comment on the price quotes from the pr team. This is what they do. This wasn't a decision by baldoni to specifically take down anyone. This was the woman who owns this company describing what their company does in certain situations. Price quotes and packages are not plans of attack.
first of all it's not your job to side with anyone secondly if you chosing who to believe based on agency you are really dumb. agencies don't change what really happened on set. also Blake Lively publicist is the same person that represented and worked for Harvey Weinstein and went after Weinstein victims. Blake Lively has also always been big supporter of Woody Allen, who is an ACTUAL abuser and ped*phile, so what... you don't have a problem with that???? but his agency is the issue??? gods people are so utterly st*pid today!
@@KandyRenee agreed. This is his livelihood possibly being destroyed. It was/is a crisis. Victims shouldn't feel frightened to take drastic measures in order to avoid seeming guilty. Whether or not JB is guilty, I don't understand how his choice of PR shows he leans closer to being guilty
Okay but I'm old and I don't do tick tock. I honestly didn't need to see a tick tock to understand how terrible her promotion of this movie was. Maybe he did have a role in pushing this forward to other viewers but I would argue that it didn't need to happen so it's insignificant that it was pushed anywhere.
This movie should never have been made. The book alone should never have been written.
Justin's vision for the movie was the one that should have been released but she blackmailed her version into existence and that is what we got.
Idk I think if we start saying things shouldn't exist because we don't like them, it leads to a slippery slope and crosses so many rights. You're like one of the people that say violent video games cause real violence

If this film, as actualized by Baldoni, was truly about DV whatsoever, why add and change nearly every scene to intensify the male gaze and sexualize the victim??? These scenes serve to glamorize, glorify, and eroticize DV to the viewer.
Given how the Industry (and the world) works, Lively very likely would've been humiliated into silence, had the removed graphic scenes remained.

Disinfo.
Colleen Hoover pushed JB to cast BL as the role for Lily. She stated, “She’s who she envisioned playing Lily”. She is also a huge fan since BL’s GG days

And people love to hate women, as Baldoni's publicist stated outright at the shocking success of her low effort smear campaign of Lively.
theres the Publicists lawsuit too.
I'm confused as to why the intimacy coordinator would not be scheduled to be present during the filming and would only be available for meetings prior to filming. There should have been no need for Baldoni to tell Lively what the intimacy coordinator said if they were available on set during shooting.
Lively refused, on record, to meet w the intimacy coordinator before filming and multiple times during 😊
@tayinabyss yes, but her requests that they agreed to says to have the intimacy coordinator on-set, not just available for meetings. Her reply to Baldoni's message reads that she would meet with the coordinator when they started filming instead of before. Why wouldn't the intimacy coordinator be available during filming?
In one interview BL mentioned, she (BL) was the intimacy coordinator.
Blake refused to meet with the coordinator prior
Yeah he should have had them there, even just to cover his back, but also she clearly didn't demand they be there either.
why isn't it a non issue that he asked how much she weighed in that context? he has back problems, how is that wrong?
THIS also why be this sensitive about weight? it should be common knowledge that people can weigh more but still be "fit" due to bone density, height, and muscle mass. i don't get the obsession with this point. it's not like he's calling a pregnant woman fat or something untoward like that

@@jakobm1291I think it’s wild too bc she’s an actor which in a lot of circumstances it absolutely matters what they look like so why be sensitive or offended when asked what you weigh? Hard agree. It's not something personal thing, it's legit to do with their job.
The issue is whether or not the reason was actually for a lift scene
A lot of the things alleged should have a paper trail (how which cut that ended being used was picked, meetings with intimacy coordinator, crew members getting fired etc) so I hope discovery will bring some clarity about that.

She also framed people seeing her breastfeed as her being "naked" which imo is misleading.

My biggest question: Was the intimacy coordinator on set the days they shot the intimate scenes? If not, that’s weird and I’d like to know why. If they were present, why was Blake not communicating to them?
I can't wait for the Netflix documentary Blake vs. Baldoni.

Who's going to play Blake?
I think Blake saw an easy target in JB. I mean what was he ever going to do, argue with his female star on the DV movie? He painted himself into a powerless corner, and she exploited that imo.
The Reynolds. I imagine Mr. Reynolds was rattled by how hot Baldoni was in that movie.
I mean Blake even turned lily into a privileged grown woman, when she was supposed to be a younger, vulnerable and powerless in her situation
Sorry for the rant lol the whole thing is just the worst kind of representation people who have experienced DV need… second to Katy Perry i guess 😅

Whatever is true or ficticious, to me this situation proves one way it all could have been avoided:
Stay in your role and maintain professional boundaries.
She’s giving manipulative and imo this response is a bunch of word salad.
Thank you anybody that’s lived through some type of abuse in any capacity can recognize her behaviors and words and know in their soul. The thing is all violence is about power and control and it sounds like Justin had none of that. He gave it all up to Blake so that’s what’s so confusing.
I think word salad is too kind, it's deliberately exaggerations and manipulation that is said over and over in a very calculated way.
yup, she is a narcissist and it shows on interviews, also she said things that proven to be lies, at this point it's just two plus two
I just hate that people are equating this case with Depp vs Heard and claiming still that Amber Heard is a victim after all the proof we had that she was lying about a lot of the facts. Nobody is saying Depp is completely innocent but 2 years later presenting Amber as some innocent victim is just ridiculous.
I don't think anyone is presenting her as an innocent victim- if anything they're saying she was far from perfect. Depp's demarcation case swayed public opinion from facts that he was a bigger abuser than he let on
depp is an abuser.
Plus that wasn’t a workplace thing so it’s not same at all
I hate that people are still claiming that Johnny Depp is a victim after all the documented cases of him lying and changing his story. Nobody is saying that Amber is an innocent saint and a perfect victim, but presenting Johnny as a saint and a good-hearted guy is ridiculous.
Inform yourself, there are videos by Medusone and Tortoise podcast... Amber was indeed the victim. Depp's team manipulated everyone
😒 okay.
every time they say wayfarer i say every style every home in my head
😂 Wayfarer Studios.
Me too!
Blake was getting slammed by the public and she assumed he started it and this was her revenge. Now it has completely back fired on her and she’s going to owe him tons of money
Exactly
And hopefully a public apology

In the Baldoni video there seem to be a lot of evidence for their claims, while this one has zero...
An hour?! Girrrrrrl we need more of this
The"friend" is an actor though... Not some random Joe.
Also my question - is it preferable for her to have a friend of the director in that role where she is apparently feeling so vulnerable, or would she had preferred a total stranger?
An hour long video from you?! What a treat
5:22 that and the hair care line she was promoting 😅 totally forgot about that until another youtuber brought it up recently.

Here's the thing no one made Blake look bad except for Blake and maybe calling because most people didn't like her either. Can I have a beef with baldoni for supporting Colleen too. But Blake supported Woody Allen I called him empowering way before this. So she already put that Target on her head

He didn't have the power to kick her out.
The crew sides with JB. The supporting actors with Blake. Do with that info what you must.
Yes it would have been very different if he had of shut her down at the beginning when she wanted to change wardrobe.

THIS.
And even if:
@@amandamandamands You, very conveniently, missed one there and moved on. Again:
2. Has Blake consented to seeing the video?
Consent. Were conversations consensual. Also- Blake requested to appear “sexier”- her words.

LYING about workplace sexual harassment (which is what Blake Lively has done) is sociopathic and unhinged.
sexual harassment is such a vague term that can reference varying degrees of harassment, and to say that's "way worse" (without knowing the details) than being "annoying" (understating the accusations against her). How do you take a nuanced statement and twist it like that. They both suck balls, hope that helps
@@The-Doctor6969exactly, dumbed it down so hard to make that point make sense.
Hey! What happened to your channel intro? It always set the mood, I miss it.

People in the comments throwing all the shade on Blake makes me want to believe her even more.
Never clicked so fast ❤
@@mrsmagoo5710 that's quite strange. why even start a fight? TO just loose money on trials?
Words that baldoni said words that Blake lively said I don't see a way to bring that in as anything but hearsay.
💯
Oh my god thank you, I was so BORRRED
omg I love that coat/vest that's awesome
I don't know if I'd subscribe to the no-right-side argument. Baldoni is an off-putting dude and I'd probably have an awful time if I happened to share a table with him at a wedding party. Lively and her husband, on the other hand, not only have been utterly despicable throughout the whole ordeal, but the fact that she's disclosing her behind-the-scenes stories just now has me believe she's gaming the principle of believing the victims in cases of this nature. And their reaction to these very serious allegations at the time was to include a whimsical character in the Deadpool movie? Come on.
im exhausted
I just find it hard to believe she wouldn’t have done anything about the SA she accused them of if things went according to her plan in terms of the movie release.
do you have any understanding of how abuse works? what is wrong with you?
@ that’s my point she wasn’t in constant threat or conditioned by long standing abuse or had limited resources she’s a well positioned millionaire within the industry who has all the support to do something had she wanted to just like she is now you can’t say that she had the same limitations as any other person enduring serious abuse also like stated in the video most of the things she’s clumping together aren’t serious at all or are things that just describe something that happened leaving ppl to draw their conclusions in her favour

Thank you. Sanity is a breath of fresh air.

She acted like a child and threw a tantrum with Reynolds acting like a parent.
so what?? because she is insecure and her feeling are hurt she has the right to destroy a mans life and career and reputation and everything??
But it is also part of her Job to fit the characteristics of the role she signed up for, similar to athletes. The whole problem IMO is that she didn’t know her character and the concept of the movie well.
Sure which might have caused her to overreact at first but she should have calmed down and apologized. Even talked to a therapist about it to help gain a more level view of the situation. However she seems to have escalated and blown it way out of proportion.
The thing is she is 5'10", even if someone doesn't have a back injury if they haven't been training for it there is a possibility that they wouldn't be able to lift her.
