    You dont have to thank me for watching your videos. i dont do it as a favor to you, and i dont watch for the entertainment value, although the joking doesnt hurt either. i watch because you are the best i have found to show me how you do what you do with normal tools at hand, in detail but without wasting my time watching you grind on things for hours. that is a great balance. thanks.

      Wow. Gees Louise Bob. I would love to and be super honoured to. This would be a first for me. Have been planning to fab some frame rails for some of my own RC trucks soon. First you would have to send me the dimensions of the frame rails of the 454 Recon. Then scale the dimensions down to 1/10th scale witch is easy. Just divide the dimensions by 10. Then make a paper templet of the frame rails then trace the temp onto some 1/8th inch steel plate and cut out with a plasma cuter. then clamp the two frame rails together and grind and file down to the scribed line of templet. Then while frame rails are still clamped together drill out the necessary holes needed to attach your cross members and hardware for suspension and drive train. You will need to order up some RC shocks, power plant and drive train parts along with a servo, ESC, battery, receiver and transmitter. For the drive train and rear end I recommend RC4WD.
      To be honest to you Bob I don't have the space or the tools to do this job. A friend of mine does but it's tricky to line up the time to go out to his shop although it is doable. Also I would say that you have way more skill, experience space and the tools to do this job quite easily. Probably be easier than building the 1/1 scale frame rails. However if it's a matter of having to many projects on your plate and not enough time I would still be interested and honoured in fabricating the frame rails for you Bob. Might be just the thing to put some fire under my ass. No cost. You would have to pay for the shipping though. I'm a very low income person. Here's my email 8967dbr@gmail.com so we can talk more about this project. :) Please delete this comment after you send me an email or you plan to do fab the frame rails your self.
      There are two youtube 1/10th scale Rat Rod builders that I can recommend watching to give some good info and inspiration. RC Everyday who's just learning as he goes and Cyanidetube who is pretty skilled and builds everything from scratch. Tell them you heard about them from Dirty D's RC. Hope this helps. Any questions alway s fell free to ask.
      Your a huge inspiration to me Bob. :)

      Got your comment on that. Gonna have to think about it .. probably could build the thing myself with tools in house .. just gotta find the time!

    • @dirtydsrc
      @dirtydsrc 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If i ever get to cutting out some frame rails out for myself I'll see if you haven't dabbed some out for yourself yet and get the measurements off you and fab some out for you too. But I have no idea when that will be so don't hold your breath. From now to end of fall I don't get many days off from work so hard for me to do projects like that. Sorry I couldn't help you out. I hope I haven't offended you.

    • @RatRodBobBuilds
      @RatRodBobBuilds  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you took an interest in it. So we're both short on time for something like this . Do you have any clue what the electronics and drive train would cost for a project like this? Tires and axles and stuff too. Pretty much the rest of the Truck can be fabricated like the full grown version!

    I’m digging the Rat Rod Bawb. Ol’ Red must be proud to share the dream. BTW is the purpose of drilling holes in the front axle to give it some flex or aesthetics or for lightening the weight or attaching other suspension components?? Sorry I am new to building Rods but an eager learner. Preciate the school of ratrod-ology fer dang shore!

    That is some beautiful work right there, will there be a sway bar of some sort ? Look forward to seeing how you perch the shocks... might look cool if they could be horizontal, but a ton of work and probably end up weak at the pivots. Look forward to all you share Bob : ]

    Excellent job Bob. Just got to ask, did someone say something about engine's and motor? Heard you correct yourself a couple of times there. You're Rocking Along!!!

    • @RatRodBobBuilds
      @RatRodBobBuilds  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea .. had a comment that a generator is a motor but an engine powers a car! So I guess when we said 'Rat Motor' and 'Mouse Motor' back in the day we were totally wrong! Who would have thunk it! LOL

      @rockerpat1085 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Rat Rod Bob Builds Well I'm on the engine side of the argument myself. I have never understood why an engine is called a motor, but a motor is never called an engine. Anyways keep the engine turning Bob!!!
