Unfortunately places like that won't be around for much longer Damien so it's a good thing that you make these vids. Thanks for the magical history tour. ATB
Great video of a remarkably preserved bunker. Thanks for keeping our heritage. I live in Europe now and I m looking into Operation Gladio and more specifically Code Bleu. I have explored parts of the old Maginot Ligne too. Maybe worth looking into if you’re ever on holiday on the continent. The French particularly were into underground fortifications. All the best, Ian
Thanks for your comment Ian, our history will be forgotten unless we investigate and document. There is a channel you should watch on TH-cam. WW2HistoryHunter, he is amazing check him out th-cam.com/channels/WaFLqinCCMRgnIyF_CuoaQ.html
The Auxiliary Units were the secret army waiting for Hitlers invasion to arrive, which thankfully didn't happen. There are bunkers yet to be discovered in my local area and I hope to find them, its a passion of mine. Thanks for watching.. ATB, Damian.
The bunkers are on private and public/government land so depends on the land owner to what happens to them. As far as I know they don't have listed building status so their future is unknown and I suspect most will be lost evenually. ATB, Damian.
Great video - live nearby and walk this area regularly but still not quite sure where it is exactly. Is there a way you are prepared to share the exact location ?
I am enjoying your videos. I am "experienced " at living in small places underground . At a later date I was involved in finding people hiding underground. It is rather amusing coming from me but I am a little concerned for your safety. Good adventuring Ray
Fascinating piece of history. I have just bought a book on the Nazi wherewolf organisation that was set up to do just the thing that these bunkers were for. Love these videos
Weren't the warewolves just children tho?. Young kids used to fight very young kids??. I might be wrong but that's what I read somewhere I think! I've not read said book so would be interested knowing a little more but time ect , I might get a copy of that book one day... Cheers J
Bunker spotting the new hobby are these protected as national places of interest ? if not they should be. Thanks for sharing . good luck in your quest to discover more great stuff atb
I don't think they are protected like a listed building would be, some are destroyed and others due to their remote location are in very good condition. Its important to document the ones that are intact though, ATB.
Very interesting Damien it's a shame some of the bunkers throughout GB haven't been restore, now that's an idea for ya you could set up a society, 'society of prevention of dilapidated auxiliary banker's lol atb Mark
Loving the frequency of uploads! Great video, good piece of history that I didn't know existed till your videos on them. Look like you're losing weight to! Did you walk to Selkirk 😂
Since I am and for the last few decades been deeply involved in military construction I found this a Very interesting video. Love the history. Great video Damian. TC - Stan
Hi Stan, they are fascinating places to visit, quite simple constructions which could be put together quite quickly. Its the history that surrounds them that is interesting to me, wouldn't like to sleep in one though. I've thought about doing a video and wild camp in one but they are dark and damp places, not very nice at all. Thanks for watching.. ATB, Damian.
my hometown n I've still not found it I live Down road from this mast I'm not giving the exact spot where you are but how did you hear of this place? brilliant channel I've subbed
There are others in the area, Newtown St Boswells was one I visited and made a video. this link will tell you more about where they are www.coleshillhouse.com/borders-auxiliary-units.php
Very interesting do you know if there is a record of how meny were actually built. it would be amazing to find one sort of compleate, i mean its not likely but you never know. keep them coming mate pure class.
Thanks Chris, I'm not sure how many bunkers there are but there is a map with the locations, they are only a few miles apart in places. www.coleshillhouse.com/northumberland-auxiliary-units-and-obs.php Have uploaded a new video and have been using the knife you made, let me know if you want a link to your channel on video and in description.
There are 21 patrols in the Northumberland area alone and there are more in other areas, mainly around the coast where there was a perceived threat of invasion. The nearest ones to us are Choppington, Morpeth (Gubeon/Ogle) and (Hebron), East Cramlington and Stobswood.
I gathered Churchill instructed for around 2,000 in total. I've been to this Bunker too, It was one of the first things I hunted for when I moved here. The sheep's skull was in the tunnel entrance when I went in, I moved it to where it is in the above video... didn't want to hold it long. There is lots of other interesting data around that spot. And across in those hills, a very very long trench line, runs dozens of miles. The history/archaeology in this area that has not been excavated or documented is huge. Time Team would have been busy for years.
Nice to see the mast featured. It was originally installed in the Airdrie area before being moved south to Selkirk. www.thebigtower.com/live/BlackHill/index.htm
Looks like the metal base of the bunk bed was dragged out and left there at the entrance. I think there were 6 bunk beds originally in the OB. Going off the holes in the walls to house the wooden frames. The cold water tank may have stood on the right side facing towards the exit door as there is no holes in the wall to house the bunk beds.
Correction, there may be bunk bed frame holes in the exit right hand corner, the lack of bunk bed holes on the left hand side facing the entrance means there were bunk frames on all other corners of the OB, my video didn't record this too well.
These bunkers where secrect radio communication posts. If you can find the one just north of alnwick which it still has the aerial up the huge beech tree. The one at alnwick has sleeping kitchen and radio room. Happy hunting 👍
The Auxiliary units had communication posts associated with them. I've been looking the Alnwick/Shipley patrol unit location so if you can point me in the right direction it will be much appreciated. Thanks for watching, ATB, Damian
Fell Wanderer Do quite a few ww2 and cold war bunkers mate Google maps 55.452624,-1.716014 ATB. Best ask at the big house and go through his garden. Old nice bloke 👍

Once again Damian thanks again for these vids. Fascinating stuff. Take care. Mick.

Well we meet again my old treasure hunter.....
Fantastic entrance brave man going through the cave spiders.
Good channel I came here because of two other channels similar to your content.... Keep up the great work and be safe out there!!
Why not try one of those freedom of information requests to find out the history of your location? Great videos, keep them coming!
Excellent bro and thanks for showing another side to your wandering.
Odd question: Are these on park lands/government protected? or could a person fix them up and put them to friendly use?
The bunkers are on private and public/government land so depends on the land owner to what happens to them. As far as I know they don't have listed building status so their future is unknown and I suspect most will be lost evenually. ATB, Damian.
That is a shame.
Correct. This one belongs to a local farmer.
Great video - live nearby and walk this area regularly but still not quite sure where it is exactly. Is there a way you are prepared to share the exact location ?

Do you have the GPS coordinates can’t find them anywhere I want to find this thanks
Hi, The secret bunker is in a small woodland about 300m NW of Lindean Reservoir, grid ref: NT 49674 29328
most excellent videography...thank you! I wonder if you would find artifacts if you scratched and dug into the floor a few centimeters?
Fascinating piece of history. I have just bought a book on the Nazi wherewolf organisation that was set up to do just the thing that these bunkers were for. Love these videos
The Auxiliary Units were created by Winston Churchill to guard against a perceived Nazi threat.
And the Wherewolfs were set up by Hitler to fight on after the allies over ran conventional Nazi forces. They were active at least until 1946.
In a sense, the Wherewolfs were the equivalent to Britains Auxiliary Units. Thanks for sharing, ATB, Damian.
