    I had a slate people fountain until it was taken over by my fur babies. Now i enjoy the sounds and when it stops flowing, I fill often. Since I have bought kitty fountains. Love the relaxing sounds and kitties drink alot. Love your idea on how to make one. I will give that a try for sure. Thanks for the info.

    This came just in time! My cat Susuwatari we figured out likes running water-he “digs” in his water dish before he drinks. Looks like a little diy is in our future :D

      I am so happy the video inspired you! Your cat will love a bubbler fountain, and it's so fun to make. You can put your own creative twist on it. We also love listening to the gentle splash of the water on the porch. Thanks for the nice comment! xoxo, Caroline

    I love this. I think Magdalene will too. At least it should only cost me close to $10 to experiment. I'm going to use the amethyst in the water. Besides being pretty, it really does have purification properties. Thanks Kitten School for this DIY tip.

      My cat does it too, does anyone know why

      Some cats prefer moving water, so when they put their paw in before they are trying to imitate moving water. If the water is already moving, then its probably whisker stress. Hope this helps:)❤

    Hi Caroline. This is too adorable. Such a great idea to distract them and prevent furniture damage. YIKES! Anyway. Very cute cats. Let me know if they tried to destroy the chinese dog haha.

      Hi Nuno! Uh...LOL yes, you got it right...they did indeed knock over the Chinese dog a few times so I took it out. My older cats don't play with it, so I think a decorated fountain will only work with older cats. Kittens are just too curious and playful! Always great hearing from you. LOTS of love...C

    Like the video but I must add warning re crystal rocks.
    I was buying a pretty crystal similar to an amethyst and mentioned my boyfriend will love it for his aquarium.
    The man stopped and said NO, this will kill his fish!
    I don't remember the clear details on the toxic ways it would.
    Similar to amethyst but tan smaller crystal bed.

    Umm, what's with the moldy looking fountain in the beginning of the video!? That cannot be healthy!
    Seems like a fountain filled w/ rocks & other ornaments will breed bacteria at a high rate. I heard that fountains are supposed to be thoroughly cleaned weekly, therefore, I cannot even imagine, cleaning each rock, &/or trinket, plus the motor & bowel itself weekly.
    I guess if ppl don't have a lot of cats that is do-able, but not for me! Regular water bowels seem to suffice for me, & the cats drink as they need to. However, I don't use TOXIC tap water, so maybe that's why they're more complaint in drinking a good amount of water.

    • @KittenSchool
      @KittenSchool  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Cherly, that's a little algae (not mold) on the fountain. I clean it once a week but since the fountain is in a sunny, warm spot on the porch the algae grows fast. Common algae isn't dangerous, and in fact in small amounts can help purify the water the way it does in a pond or stream. Thanks for the comment!
