Hi everyone I'm working on a completely NEW and improved design for the Dreamcast Classic Edition but I am running into issues with SEGA. I have been in contact with SEGA and asked for a license to make just Dreamcast cases that buyers could build how ever they choose and this is what SEGA responded with.... "Unfortunately we are unable to grant a license and must formally request for you not to continue as described within your correspondences. Best Regards,SEGA Support" I then responded to SEGA and I asked what could I do to meet there criteria and get a license and I am still waiting for a response. Because of this legally I can not sell any Dreamcast products unless I get approval from SEGA. I believe SEGA is not realizing the power of their Dreamcast and is just wasting a great opportunity to make a comeback!! I will keep you updated with any changes.
Huge Sega fan boy here and I adored the Dreamcast thank you for the hard work you put into making a classic edition and making a video showcasing us that the Dreamcast will never die
VERY COOL DESIGN!!!! When you mentioned getting the DC on day one it brought back great memories for me. I have pre ordered 2 game systems in my life time. The first was the Sega Dreamcast and I NEVER regretted it for even one moment! The second was the Playstation 2 and for the first 9 months or so that I owned it the PS2 was nothing more than a PS1 a DVD player and a stand for my Dreamcast to sit on L.O.L. Such a shame that the PS2 hype crushed the Dreamcast. I believe The DC had a lot of fight left in it. Luckily it is still supported by fans with new games still coming out from time to time.
Thank you for all the positive feedback. Looking for possible changes for next Dreamcast build? Let me know your ideas in your comments. Here is a link to a 3d printable file of mini Dreamcast its a non functioning Hollow case with no lid or games just the shell but still very cool: Mini Dreamcast by Sparrows89, published Oct 1, 2017 www.thingiverse.com/thing:2562449 SEGA IS BACK!!! Also I'm a little surprised of the number of thumbs down especially when 98% of the comments are good. Can't please everyone I guess lol....
Your title implies that Sega has made their own Dreamcast mini. Which is not true. Thats called clickbait. So its obvious why people are down voting. Don't play dumb.
it's obvious sega hasnt released an official classic edition, so anybody that downvoted for "clickbait" reasons isn't playing dumb. They're actually dumb. Nice video.
you should have gone with a xu4 instead, look like a dreamcast but what a joke if it don't run dreamcast games properly... (a bit like at games genesis...)
Tailslol there is no comparison between this and "AT games consoles" Just the genesis support alone on this console blows away the AT games versions . I guess you should probably just make one your self since you have it all figured out...
This is freaking awesome! Back in the day I was a heavy Nintendo fan, but when the Dreamcast came out, I bought it day one because of how amazing the system and the games were. This vid brought back some great memories, thanks man!
Unbelievable job! I'd buy one in a heartbeat! I too absolutely love the Dreamcast and have tons of special memories because of this truly special console!!
Whats Up Man, Awesome Video and A Very Good Mini and Clone of the Sega Dreamcast. Man I Would Love to have one of these. I Never Owned a Dreamcast and I Always wanted one and it is my console on my radar to get list but this one would be Better and the way to go. Please make more and you should sell them. Many Blessings Peace
The hear say is wrong. Dreamcast didn't die due to advertising or being overshadowed. In fact many people brought their PS2 back saying they enjoyed their Dreamcast a lot more still. HOWEVER, pirating was a new craze for the general public when it came to consoles. And thanks to Microsoft's bad handling of the OS for the Dreamcast, YES I know it's a sega system but they had Microsoft do it's OS, just look at the windows logo on the corner of your old DC, IF YOU HAVE ONE, and it was extremely easy to trick past it's region lock and anything else. Sure you can pirate for other consoles now, but it was such a wild craze at a time that the hardware was well before it's time even, that people pirated the games so much in the USA that they stopped releasing the USA DC versions and went right to the PS2 where, for a while, it was harder to pirate for. Until they figured that one out too.... However with the love of the hardware, people in the USA doing it just SO much, and on top of that at a time where new hardware was now landing, the combination robbed the glorious Dreamcast of it's worthwhile time. Ever since, Sega has been taking it's frustrations out on American consumers, a stereotype that continues to lurk in it's upper management that if we cater to America they'll likely ruin things for the rest of us. AKA them. As such through the stereotype, which wasn't entirely wrong, but hardly appropriate to hold a grudge this long, has held back most things other than games they figured wouldn't really matter so much if people hacked them or the likes, and as such we've not gotten Border Break, and PSO2 was held back despite the promise that it was coming, where SEGA told a rather dishonoring lie which now plagues the SEGA brand when mixed with it's hideous treatment of it's USA fans due to the actions of others. However, very few know the in depths of these facts, and I could prove it all day long and people may still not believe it, but it's how it went down, and hopefully SEGA's management claiming it wants to do better for the USA is really truthful and not just a stunt to trick USA players into buying more sonic tittles just to bleed them for a little while longer while continuing to give them NOTHING of what they've asked for. AKA Border Break and PROPER access to PSO2. Meanwhile, time is up for SEGA. Border Break has finally come to the PS4 in Japan and thus run out of excuses as to why NOT bring it to the USA as it's no longer an arcade exclusive. SEGA will have to truly start making USA releases of what's been asked for, or the claim by management is going to be thrown back in their face as they continue to do nothing, and thus the final official lie will be called out. Such is likely to cause a near Konami sized rift in their stocks and consumer trust, and after that catering to their small world demographic will not save them. This is the time for SEGA to prove what it can do, and also what it has and that it can contend with other Eastern designers still who are robbing their place in the sun with ease, and that of other western designers, that themselves are leaving a wide open hole for the eastern gaming market to make it's huge comeback, which IT HAS already been doing. Sink or swim, SEGA. You were robbed once, but it's time to grow up and show the west what once put you where you were. If not, your final sink is coming. Too bad nearly no one will read this and realize the small piece of gaming history that has been overshadowed with the lies of 'oh it was bad marketing' for far too damn long. That's NOT how it went down... Not at all....
Dude, stop. It's not a lie, that's actually what happened. I haven't heard of one person bringing back their PS2, that is such bullshit. Get it a rest.
Now, that was an awesome looking mini system. Love the mini controller and Vmu . Great job n the packaging you created as well maked it look very marketable. Great video. Have a Terrific Tuesday.
I (and Adam Koralik, I'd imagine) am totally on board for this! I would definitely buy one of these!!! The details are incredibly well done! You even included a replica VMU and a controller! Even the developer kit boot logo is here. I commend you for making attract modes and the replica discs that actually utilize NFC to boot to the rom file in the retropie. I miss my import DC and games. You have already done a million times better than anything ATgames had ever done with Sega's blessing. I really hope you can make more of these!
Guys, it is not FULLY emulated (what does that even mean?). Saturn emulation is very much work in progress, and results vary from game to game. Personally, I prefer using the Mednafen Saturn core, which is currently the best in my opinion, and has seen a lot of active development the last months. Mednafen Saturn does require some horsepower unsurprisingly. Yabause isn't very accurate as of right now, and doesn't see a whole lot of development I think. SSF is in a better state, but it is also closed-source and Windows only, which blows. Yabause has been forked into ouYabause for Android compatibility, so there may be some future for the emulator on ARM, but currently it's pretty much unusable and I believe it even comes with ads, so stay away from it.
+Robin Mattheussen Ι dont know about Mednafen Saturn core (I guess its for Retroarch which I hate to use),but SSF runs perfect everything I throw to it (it also needs some horsepower).
Very cool case, but Dreamcast emulation on the Pi3 is horrible (at best). The playable games run painfully slow and have tons of glitches. It's pretty pointless to even add Dreamcast games to the Pi3. Not to take away from your hard work on the case...good job!
Great job. I love the attention to detail you put into it. I am definitely interested if you get around to making anymore. The Dreamcast is one of my favorite systems. Keep up the good work. I enjoyed the video presentation.
And there are many graphic failures, Crazy Taxi has no shadows, Ikaruga works at 50fps, this does not work to emulate DC, for that Demul is much better.
PunkRockZombie205 hes too busy making an ass of himself ,playing golf and embarrassing our country ,fucking pathetic Russian lovin Orange Clown with bone spurs
This is the holy grail for me. I remember release too. I've played a fair number of fun games since, but nothing has quite captured the magic of the Dreamcast.
Good morning 8 Bit, let me start by saying great design work because not only did you take the time to 3D print the console but you also took the time to make a controller and memory card! Those who have never tried to 3 D print and sand then paint and add components that move together in such a small device don’t understand the painstaking hours and attention to detail it takes knowing that once it’s put up in front of the world it will be scrutinized and bashed like you just whipped this thing out in an hour!!! Kudos to you for the wonderful memories you’ve resurfaced for me in my childhood with Dreamcast and Sega...please keep up the good work and if you decide to sell these please put me on your list and I’m sure my friends who have always been big Dreamcast fans will be on board (would also make a great Christmas gift) to purchase themselves one or two. Only thing I’d like to see in your console is maybe the ability to plug in a Dreamcast controller for full nostalgia...lol...thanks again for a moment of my childhood relived
Awsome. Plz build these systems. I'm a big SEGA fan. The Dreamcast is my favourite gaming system. With Nintendo doing there retro systems now in mini, why not bring out this mega system to the public. I don't know why SEGA themselves din't jump on the band wagon. So it is up to the true lover of Sega like yourself to do this. All the best. You build it fans will buy. We are a dying breed of fans. If made it will bring back memories. Don't let this op past. 8 Bit Flashback Sega should copy Nintendo formula releasing mini editions it's consoles, if they don't allow you doing it at least release themselves 🤔
I can still remember the morning I spilt cereal all over my Dreamcast.. Such a traumatic moment.. All the other mini systems are cool and all, but the Dreamcast was a big part of my childhood.. Hope you get enough interest to start selling these. I’d be a buyer for sure.
Wow the little Raspberry Pi Dreamcast is brilliant and the fort that went into it with the controller and the vmu memory card and games discs brings back so much memories as a kid and I still have a Dreamcast that was a really really dope video
Man, I miss my dreamcast. In true fan boy fashion, I bought every system Sega came out with after falling in love with my genesis as a child. I never understood why people never got on board with the Saturn and dreamcast. They were both great while they lasted. I guess the juggernaut PlayStation became after hitting the market was just too much to over come. Oh well, I'd still love to see Sega re enter the console world again one day. Fingers crossed
I can't believe that Raspberry Pi III could emulate Dreamcast, my Pi III are struggle emulating N64 and PS1 games, and that's one generation behind dreamcast.
the Dreamcast was my first gaming console growing up my first i ever played game was super sega bass fishing i was 3 years old i really want this to become a classic console one day to relive my childhood life
You are super talented! I've always wanted to get into modding those buggers but i always screw up somehow someway, i've already went through 6 or 7 pi's

I feel the same I Would like to buy one to
I’d buy one for sure that’s badass
Ill happily buy this and put the logos on myself
MrLooZee He is been transparent with his viewers, not trying to land some business deal to exploit his fans. This guy is a legend!
This is one of the most impressive things I’ve ever watched.
Huge Sega fan boy here and I adored the Dreamcast thank you for the hard work you put into making a classic edition and making a video showcasing us that the Dreamcast will never die
You are very talented
Damn, the amount of work that you have put into this is amazing.
Holy shit dude. Your console looks like it rolled off Sega's assembly line. Very professional looking.
Jamie Greig don't you know, fans often make better projects than the actual big name companies
Awesome job. I love the professionalism you put into not only the mini design but also the packaging. Well done. Sega should really consider this.
VERY COOL DESIGN!!!!

Not perfect?! Dude this thing is awesome! This was super creative! If only Sega could see this
Now this is a real portable home console. Props man and to your work. 👊
This is one of the best things I've ever seen. Great work
I truly appreciate this... Dreamcast is hands down My Favorite system 😁

You are the man. One of my all time favorite systems ever! This is amazing
This is awesome, I would buy it if it was for sale
Guguk KuShoe заходи в гости.
I agree with you
I'd buy this in a heartbeat, absolutely love and still play my Dreamcast to this day!!
Best classic system ever!!
Great work! I didn't know Adam Sandler is into Retro gaming. Awesome!
I want to buy one.
Team 974 me too!!!

Same, especially if it plays Phantasy Star Online 1 or Power Stone on it :)
AWESOME! I love the mini controller and the mini games. Great concept and looks even better! Thx for sharing!
peachermo thank-you
Sega needs to do this ASAP! 🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍
badazzboxer ,For real bro.

Nevermind the haters, man. I'm subscribing to know more about your show.

HOW MUCH I GOTTA PUT IN THE TIP JAR TO GET ONE OF THESE!?!
Duston Erwin do these really work? Are they hacked emulator things? What am I looking at?
Larry Medina ...YES! It has a Raspberry Pi inside running Emulation Station / RetroPie... lots of good videos out there to show you how it's done.
there´s nothing special about it(only much emulators on a raspberry) but it looks very cool...
You're amazing, dude. This is... AWESOME!
Man I Would Love to have one of these..i miss my dreamcast! a friend borrowed it and never got it back.
He better not be your friend anymore! lol
Same story here brethren. Let my homie borrow mine when I got that first Xbox. He got locked up and you know the rest.
This is freaking awesome!
Back in the day I was a heavy Nintendo fan, but when the Dreamcast came out, I bought it day one because of how amazing the system and the games were.
This vid brought back some great memories, thanks man!
Thank you
should have gone for a more substantial sbc really like a xu4 or something that handles dreamcast better but still a good project
keep up the great work. that's something really there!
Shut up and take my money!!!
ApriliaRSV4Guy my words exactly
Umm...YES PLEASE!!
Qauke 3 online dudes.
Its good to see that you include alot of neat physical items.
Unlike the Big N
A lot of people are saying that you should take their money for that console we'll I don't have a money so... take my liver instead.
ExileRN Giving your liver for a barely functional emulator is pretty extreme.
I can't comment
LOL
Now that is pretty hot. And the freaking Dreamcast controller is bigger than the entire mini console! Awsome
I didn't expect it to actually power on ._.
what do you mean you didnt expect that? did you not know what a Raspberry Pi is?
CouchHobbit - ,Me neither bro
Unbelievable job! I'd buy one in a heartbeat! I too absolutely love the Dreamcast and have tons of special memories because of this truly special console!!

buy a dreamcast! ;) i can recommend you to buy an old model(maybe a japanese version). you can play also burned games on it, and thats very cheap.
@@OxysLokiMoros Is the Japanese version region locked?
A lot of attention to detail, I think it's genius how you used the NFC tags to load particular games. Simple yet effective. I'd buy this.

I wouldn't give you $1 for one of these, I would give you 500!.

I still have my original console from 1999. Dreamcast was ahead of its time.
How did I predict this. I must be a psychic.
Hopefully they do make a real one one-day
This is an impressive little build.
Amazing!! Everything looked awesome!!!
thank you
Man, that's some top notch shit. I loved me some Sega back in the day too. That mini controller is extra fleek.
I can't believe that Raspberry Pi III could emulate Dreamcast, my Pi III are struggle emulating N64 and PS1 games, and that's one generation behind dreamcast.
the Dreamcast was my first gaming console growing up my first i ever played game was super sega bass fishing i was 3 years old i really want this to become a classic console one day to relive my childhood life
That's amazing!!! Best pi case ever!!!!
holy shit i love the idea of actually functioning mini games!! although even without that touch this thing is awesome!
It's good to see they're still making episodes of Portlandia.
I hope sega is watching, i just want the Sonic Adventure/Jet Grind/Shemue Series on a mini DreamCast....
I would buy one on a heartbeat, I've loved dreamcast since it launched when I was 12
Great job, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
This is amazing. Well done man!!
Oh how this takes me back. What a great console the dreamcast was. ChuChu Rocket and Power Stone were like digital crack. RIP deamcast.
You are super talented! I've always wanted to get into modding those buggers but i always screw up somehow someway, i've already went through 6 or 7 pi's
DUDE IS THE HANDS DOWN THE BESTS
Wow. What a great little thing. Well done mate.
THAT IS AMASING MAN. KEEP GOING.
Very cool. You are very talented to be able to compile all that. Retro lives on!
Thank you
Dreamcast is my favorite, I also bought it on launch day. I would love to have one of these mini Dreamcasts!
