Let me know what you think of the video! Anything you want to see more of in future videos? What is your favorite state park? I know, so many questions lol
I’ve camped at Paynes more than a dozen times. I’ve seen some of the most majestic Live Oaks I’ve ever seen there. There’s also a North Entrance where you can walk next to Gators if you’re so inclined.
Nice set up...mpgs and reliability. For content do your own repairs and maintenance on the truck + RV? Strong suggestion, your trailer is new, apply elastomeric on the roof. It is a coating for the roof. It will ensure your roof last longer + no leaks. Good stiff broom to clean and the application is like paint. I added solar panels and upgraded the battery to a 200 ah lithium off Amazon.
I live in Florida and have never been here, although i have passed it a hundred times. Don't know if you have ever been to Hillsborough State Park, but it is nice with trails by the river and wooden bridges and small little raids section. Also, good job backing up that camper too! Nicely done video.
First time watcher, Stephanie that was a great, well made video. I can tell you are not a newbie at camping. Very detailed and making sure things are done correctly. Looks like a beautiful State Park. When I pull to Florida though, we generally stay at Top Sail. Gotta catch some waves !!!!! I'll be looking for more of your video's. Stay safe and keep enjoying life !!!!!!!!!!!!
I stumbled across your channel today Steph and subscribed. I was considering buying the E-Pro 19FDS but after seeing your vids I decided I can live in this TT while I build my house! Thank you for figuring that out for me! The only question I have is am I falling in love with you? lol Take care. :)
@lifewithstephanie42 my step dad was a truck driver, late father in law, 2 brothers in law, I was just making a proud of the trucking profession statement 👍
This park is almost literally in our back yard. We have enjoyed staying there quite a few times. New sub here and have really enjoyed your channel and videos. Thank You!
We are staying at Catherine Hanna Park in Jacksonville Fl for Father’s Day weekend 2024. Would be awesome if you wanted to stay at the park on the ocean. $35 a night with full hook ups isn’t bad either.
You might want to think about getting a small Coleman stove for outside cooking. My rig has an outside kitchen so I always like to cook fish outside. What a great site! Nice job.
@@lifewithstephanie42 it is amazing. It used to be my peaceful place. You may want to check out the LaChula trail head. It’s technically the north entrance to Paynes prairie and gives you a different perspective on the beauty of the park. No campers but you can drive there.
And I learned something new. I had no idea there were wild horses in Florida. Since you are up that way you should check out silver springs State park. The camp ground is gorgeous. Looks to me like you had plenty of room between the hitch and ball when you disconnected BTW.
It looked like the truck hit a bump and it cut it alittle close 😅 There are wild bison 🦬 in this park too! I just didn’t see any this stay. I actually did a video on Silver Springs State Park ☀️ th-cam.com/video/yC48q_vEJKU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tzZy4lS2FmQzijEG
Another great video by my E-Pro sister! We have heard great things about Paynes Prairie and it is on our list of places to visit. Great footage you got! A couple of tips for you: 1. Although you did say the bugs were kind of bad, when it is hot, we always cook outside using either our electric griddle or hot plate (if we have electrical hookup) or the gas griddle if boondocking. If it is raining we just put out the awning (it is usually out anyway). 2. When we do cook inside and have electrical hookups, we use our electric griddle or dual hot plate to save on using our propane. Just a thought. Look forward to your next video and safe travels!
Are you In Florida? I live an hour and a half from Paynes prairie, it would be cool to meet another solo female camper (just starting out!) thanks for these helpful videos
I’m in Montana finishing up a travel nurse contract. I was in Florida for a awhile and enjoyed going to all the different parks learning about my trailer ☀️
I was born in Sarasota. Was last down last Jan. Missed the palmettos, palms and spanish moss. I got my fix when I was there and every time you show a video. Thanks! How's the house selling?
Great job on the video!! Makes me want to drag my trailer to Florida for some camping. Looks like you are getting the routine down for full timing in such a small trailer . One thing I got for leveling my 15tb is level mate pro and some ramp wheel chocks, to me it is quicker and much easier to level by myself. What hitch system do you have? Been thinking on getting something little more professional then just a standard hitch
Thank you so much! Each trip I’m getting more organized for sure 👍☀️ This is the link to the Curt Hitch system I had installed when I purchased the trailer. It’s a weight distribution hitch with sway control amzn.to/49178Ui
To be on the safe side due to the fact, you’re in a secluded forest you should put a pair of men’s work boots outside your front door or side door anywhere where another man can see it or anyone else can see that there’s a male living there
Yeah, lol. It was creepy walking by the water because there were so many! But it was awesome at the same time ☀️ I felt like gator bate for sure 🐊 was on high alert lol
I'm up to my eyeballs in travel trailer research as I'm selling my house to travel for a bit... before I get too old with regrets. Why did you choose a stick built trailer? And if it was all about the initial price... are you worried about resale value and reliability? My parents had issues with both their pull behind and fifth wheel (both developed leaks), and that was years ago... way before the haphazard covid days. I'm leaning towards used molded fiberglass or at least a mfg'er NOT near Elkhart 😊. I read good things about NuCamp's quality and customer service (teardrops). Any experience with them? And you can cook your fish any damn place ya please... 😁
In my research getting my first trailer, I wanted something small to start with. But it had to have a bed, bathroom, and kitchen. I really wanted an Airstream Bambi but that was out of my price range. I’ll still get an Airstream someday ☀️ but bigger than a Bambi. I was also told to look for smooth fiberglass siding to prevent future leaks, and that led me to this cute little E-Pro. It’s a great little starter and I’m already thinking I need a bigger trailer but not for awhile ☀️ It’s a process and I’m slowly figuring it out. We will see ☀️
@lifewithstephanie42 👍 I'm looking at used Airstreams too. The Basecamp and short Caravel have caught my eye. One of the biggest reasons I'm getting out of home ownership is to get away from the maintenance (and proprty tax... ugh!). I'm going to rent when I've had my fill of traveling, so I don't want to turn the provincial corner, only to be crawling around in and on a travel trailer. So, my thoughts are used, well maintained, and a mfg'r that has renowned customer service... even though the molded fiberglass, teardrops, and Airstreams are still north of $25K used. Thanks for replying!
One of the first rules for a new camper - NEVER cook fish in your camper, please take it from experience. For that Salmon, wrap it in foil, put it on charcoal (most Florida State Parks have grills on site), add a little salt and pepper and you will have magnificent fish.
