It most likely will not pass the Senate because of the amendments added that will weaken our military. No women were mentiones also legal immigrants were also not included. If you buy lard in a regular grocery store, check the ingredients on the label. It may have a crisco-type ingredients added to it. Here in CT, you can easily get lard or tallow very inexpensively $.50/ lb from a local butcher or meat shop. It is very easy to make it shelf stable.

We are inundated with bunnies this year. We even had one of our raised beds with a bunny nest in it so that we had to just leave it alone until they were all gone. Our beans and peas are being devoured and last year something was eating half of each beautiful cucumber or tomato, which was very frustrating. Something is eating all of our kale but leaving the lettuce alone which is right beside it. The cabbage is being eaten as well. All of these beds are raised with chicken wire fences, but there are holes where whatever it is that's eating things must be burrowing. We've recently bought a couple of trailcams to hopefully see what's going on. If anyone has any suggestions as to what we can do to stop this please feel free to suggest away! Cheers everyone.

Whether you see the bunnies or not, keep sprinkling blood meal every so often. It will deter them and make someone else's garden more appealing! I've been using wood shavings, bought at a farm store for mulch and to suppress weeds. I use them in my raised beds and also in my hanging baskets and pots. It's inexpensive, goes a long way and once served down stays put. In the states we have cedar or pine shavings. It's used for animal bedding. Also, call an animal processing place for beef fat to make tallow. When we bought half a cow last June, they were happy to have us take the bones and fat and not charge us. Most people don't want anything but the meat and they have to get rid of the bones and fat somehow. It may cost a little or not! Just my two cents for today! 🇺🇸😎🇨🇦 I did render down the fat and also made bone broth! A win win🤗🤗

As to beef tallow, here in the US it is possible to find, but horribly expensive when you do. I have a lady in the meat department of a local grocery store who will save me steak and roast fat trimmings for $.99 per lb. I pick them up about once a week and get about 3 to 5 quarts when rendered. Obviously I don't use that much, but it is very shelf stable and I vacuum seal the jars with canning lids. It is a very mild cooking fat that is stable at far higher temperatures than butter. I use the cracklings in scrambled and fried eggs for an extra fat boost.

Some still don't get it thinking that somehow they can get a free ride. Those soldiers have families as well. Their mothers can't sleep, their families can't sleep, but those men (and women because about 25% + of the Ukrainian army are women) go to war so their families are alive. They have no place to go. It's their home. Lots of people in the army used to be regular people with regular jobs. Not too many are born to become soldiers.

BTW what convinced me was after listening to a whole speech made by Trump, I heard the news that night and what the media was reporting was completely wrong. They had taken a portion of the speech out of context and put their own spin in it. Toni, please check out Doug & Stacy's video on that shelf-stable lard. She says that it is hydrogenated and the cause of cholesterol problems (if I remember it correctly). I stocked up on it, and will not eat it any more. I make my own. I asked around after I used up the lard from our 1/2 pig, and am buying pork fat trimmings from Save-on-Foods here in BC. It was a butcher who told me about it. They will even order it in. I can't stand the smell of beef tallow, but it is supposed to be good stuff. Used to use it in soap-making with lard & sheep fat.

Actually She is wrong, Tenderflake Lard which is what I buy is pure lard and is not hydrogenated.

Glad those wascully wabbits moved on. Great point about these times requiring all thinking people needing to make a stand either way. Thinking of the American Revolution when it became too dangerous to be a fence sitter, either side would hang you. Appreciate the show as always.

Try dehydrating then freeze drying veg like potatoes etc. texture is a little firmer when reconstituted more like fresh, not as soft. I saw your last sewing project, wish I had your sewing skill. I’m working on it, just not there yet. Fingers crossed. Thank you for sharing.

Toni, just use cardboard on your garden. It kills the weeds and eventually breaks down. I used it to kill grass & weeds in my yard. I just cover it with mulch, which I use anyway. Costco will give you those big, flat pieces of cardboard that they use between layers of product on their shelves. It couldn’t be easier. I think a lot of weeds would still grow under a tarp.

Thumbs down on the W corn so far. Nasty. Sobeys by far brings in the best in my opinion, especially for freezing. Their fruit and vegetable grading standards are superior to W and No Frills. No jam this year either. Put away good ole Smuckers when it was on sale seeing that the sugar prices are still up. Saving my sugar for baking. Those lil rabbits are really hungry this year! We've re-planted as well. Divided rhubarb and gave to 3 neighbors as well as beautiful Romaine lettuce and green onions. Our Township has 2 ">Mulch Days" each year and residents can indulge. We need to top up our garden paths between the beds and full surround of the garden. It truly is a saving. Toni, we Listen to All and Follow None, grind our
teeth a bit, and Move Forward based on our own understanding. Lies, Lies, everywhere the Lies. Do this don't do that, can you hear the lies?
