I just received homemade soap as a gift from a friend. I’m so happy to receive it. I heard about the strike this morning. I hope they come to an agreement soon. I noticed today at a local small chain discount store that they are very low on hygiene products for both men and women. I’ve never seen that before. Low on soaps, shampoos, razors, oral care. They did have a good amount of mouthwash. I’m going to review my preps to see if I have any holes.
There is reports that most cities have 2 weeks worth of chemicals to treat our water. Most of it comes by rail. Now would be a good time to stock up on some water just in case. Then you won't need to boil everything.
The nice thing about hair is that it grows back, mostly. I was too lazy to drag out the lawnmower, so I used the weed whacker to cut the grass. Then I dug up all the dandelions to dry the roots. Medicinal use. The government only goes after truckers, not railroad guys.
Hi Toni - sorry to hear you have not been feeling well - praying for a swift recovery. The soap looks wonderful - I’m going to have to give it a try - maybe this winter when I’ve got more time. It has been a busy day for me - got cucumbers picked and made 12 jars of dills, and just in the process of making a triple batch of cucumber relish - my husbands favourite. There is more going on with our railroad and has been for the last few year - people just don’t realize. My husband retired from engineering when the shenanigans started and they are still going on. I wish they could get rid of Harrison who is running things, but the money people like him. They have been treating employees badly for years. We would not be surprised if the company collapses - they even treat customers badly.
I rendered a big pot of beef fat trimmings and ended up with seven quarts. Since I like to wait for cold weather to make soap, I sealed it in jars for later use.
RAIL - THE ESSENTIAL SERVICE To understand just how much we rely on rail service, in our vast country, we must understand the inexplicable connection between FOOD & DIESLE FUEL. Diesel fuel powers all of the equipment that plants, harvest, and ships our foods to markets and processing centers. Diesel also powers the trucks, trains, and ships that deliver all of these foods to our grocery stores, all around the world. Without diesel fuel, billions of people would starve to death, let alone freeze or fry to death without shipments of oil & gas to heat or cool their homes. Now our rail system, here in Canada, is the quintessential service that Canada needs to survive, because we have neither the infrastructure nor manpower to ship everything by truck. In addition, because the Trudeau-Sing-Blanchette regime refuses to build oil pipelines, it is shipped via rail, which many people believe to be less safe than underground pipelines. And along with this oil, other essential chemicals are shipped by rail, like propane and chlorine, which are necessary for grain drying, heating, and water treatment. Not to mention that all of our resources, commodities like coal, minerals, and metals are shipped by rail...and, of course, all of our grains including various types of livestock. Railways are the life-blood of our Canadian economy. If you cut or stop their use, our economy begins to die, just like stopping the flow of blood in a person. Each day that the rail lines are not running, exponentially adds to the collapse of our economy. We cannot do without our railway service. It is the reason we became a successful nation, and, is the only way we can maintain our economy...such as it is. If you take away our railways, like abolishing diesel fuel, millions and millions of Canadians would die. This rail strike is far more important to our national well-being than you know...and the Trudeau-Sing regime is purposefully not intervening...because these globalists want our economy to collapse. Let's hope Poilievre sings a different tune...because his silence on this would place him in the same company as the Trudeau-Sing regime...globalists.
I have bowel disease, I get antibiotics by injection. But I haven't needed antibiotics in 5 years. I received a soap making kit as gift a year ago, should open box and try it
if a kit, it is likely (although not definitely) a melt and pour soap kit, which is similar but not the same...it likely focuses more on the creative side and should be lots of fun!
Thank you Toni. Regarding political leaders, here in the UK we are sick of the new leader Starmer already. (Only in for about 70 days now.) The issues behind our recent riots haven't gone away along with their unpopular new ideas. Food prices are a real concern, they never went down. Always enjoy your thrifting and food preps.❤
@@HerHomesteadSkills Yep, people are very unhappy, things are pretty crazy here. The madness around the Western countries is the devil's work and I rebuke it. We keep on going by God's will. Stay safe.
Bill looks so awful because of who he's married to 😄 I'm making slow headway organizing my spices and herbs. No idea why there were 8 containers each of chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Transferred all to pint jars and vacuum sealed. Had to throw a couple out in plastic jars bc contents went rock hard. A tray of Big Jim Jalapeño peppers, and 3 trays of squash will go into freeze dryer tomorrow. I love these Big Jim peppers! They have just a hint of heat, and grow 4-5" long so they're perfect for stuffing with cream cheese, wrapping with bacon, and baking. The squash was cut into 2" wide by 1/4" thick strips - saw a recipe using squash instead of lasagna noodles. We haven't watched any of the DNC, can't risk throwing a skillet through the tv - lol. Didn't know about the RR strike! Hope it gets resolved quickly. You have the prettiest hair! Mine is blonde (with liberal silver) and too fine to do anything other than ponytail or loose bun. Meh. Take care👋
lol...I have a number of smaller skillets for the very purpose, but perhaps a different target...I don't have the arms that could fling a larger one very far!!!! p.s. I have my share of silver too...just very well disguised at the moment...been thinking long and hard about going natural again!
@@HerHomesteadSkills Ohhh thought that WAS your natural color! I hated the chemicals in hair coloring so - one last time - went ash blonde AND added platinum blonde streaks. As the liberal real silver hair and pale blonde grew out, it was a gradual transition to my "natural" hair color, "natural" for a senior citizen 😂 p.s. bet you could heft a skillet farther than you think 💪
Outstanding as always Toni, a little surprised MSM or somebody hasn't commented on the similarities between Presidents Biden and Clinton regarding cognitive ability, seemed to me like Slick wasn't too far behind Joe
the term "Slick" is so appropriate...He and the others do speak well (no mean tweets) but sadly have nothing of value to say! just meaningless talk talk talk.
i have never thought about making soap, what is it used for, is it like for you to bath or stuff like dishes or washing?sorry if i sound silly but im new to homemade soap.
She makes bath soap bars. You could use 2 T Castile soap in a pint jar, fill with water and put a foaming soap dispenser top for hand washing. Add essential oils if you want. Very cheap.
I do that. I got my foaming soap dispensers from Dollar Tree by buying 2 foaming soaps there, ($1.00 each at the time) used up the soap, washed the dispensers, and then put my soap in. It was much cheaper than buying empty foaming soap dispensers from Walmart or Amazon...LOL.
Antibiotics strep the GI track of its normal flora and it needs live cultures that you get from yogurt or cottage cheese to get them back if not you can get something called c-diff if you ever get watery diarrhea go to the doctor serious God bless
Your hair always looks wonderful.
Thank you so much
That haircut looks perfect on you! It looks really good. 👍🏻👍🏻
Oh thank you!
Your soap bars look so nice 😊
Thank you! 😊
Have a super weekend, Toni!
Thank you! 😊
Aww,, your beautiful
Oh thank you!
Nice bars of soap! It cut easier than I expected.
It's still soft, as it dries..it will be difficult to cut!
Very clever method there Toni and the soaps look fantastic!🎉
Thank you!

yup, it's the smaller stores that always feel the pain first!

Yes, I heard that too...and I will stock up on water, just in case..thanks for the reminder..!
scary stuff! we all might have a run on bottled water if this keeps up!
@@HerHomesteadSkills the problem is that unless it's "spring water" it's just tap water with the chlorine removed.
Your name hair looks nice
Good ol' slick willy. What ever they say the other side is doing, they are the ones actually doing it.
yup, that what they are doing!
You make everything look so easy Toni! Prayers for all involved in the railway strike 🙏 ❤❤
confidence! once you have done something a few times, you get confident and it "looks" and "is" easy!
thanks
You're welcome!

good thing, I hate to see more peoples bank accounts frozen!
This cut looks great!
Thank you! 😊

yes, the money part is important but the employees are equally important...a company can't survive without both!
Stay safe...best wishes

Whenever you have to take antibiotics you should also take acidophilus 3 times a day and continue to take for at least 3 extra days.

Technically, the union was locked out and unable to work.
