    This SUV is superb. The CR-V is actually so good to look. It will now be my favorite SUV to buy. But I should choose the diesel 2WD because we don't need so much off roading and in it's own, it looks like it is a soft roader, but I think it can drive on some of the rough tarmacs easily.

    • @MotuSid
      @MotuSid 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on what your definition of performance is. If you expect it to do under 10 second 0-100kmph times with full load, then no it doesn't have the grunt. If it is about being able to move quick enough, yes it does have enough power. Expectations from what is a people mover should be a tad low, no?

    22-27 lacs is what I would like to see. it then has potential to take on Hexa, Innova, Tiguan and Tuscon. But looking on paper for power to weight ratio is very low. only if it manages to get some perks from government to go under 20 for the base variants, it will give nightmares to rivals. Of sunroof is still its USP

    Great review Kartikeya! I test drove this baby in Singapore, and it has the 1.5 literature turbocharged engine, and it's just soooooo good! The build quality is fantastic, and you start wondering why you would ever want to buy any European vehicle double or triple its price. It's so practical and comfortable, and fun to drive. Honda hopefully has its mojo back. Let's have a 1.5 liter brio now! Kartikeya, can you please convince Honda to make one?

      'Better than shit marutis'? Well if you are referring to the light build quality, Honda is no different. New generation of Maruti cars drive better also. Take baleno and Jazz as examples. Save for the diesel engine and slightly bigger boot Jazz has not a single USP over Baleno. Let me list out a few things Jazz doesn't get but Baleno manages at a lower price point:
      1) 60:40 split rear seats(facelifted jazz loses the awesome magic seats)
      2)telescopic steering
      3)better deliverability(petrol engine)
      4)adjustable neck restraints in back seat.
      5)projector headlamps(HID)
      6)Tinted glass
      7)better HU(personal opinion)
      8)Auto headlamps
      List goes on. You can bash maruti over the build quality but then you should be comparing it to say, a vw or a ford.

    23-27 ex-showroom would be the sweet spot for the Honda CR-V to do decent sales numbers. Otherwise it would end up not selling like the previous-gen and of course even the Tucson, Tiguan and Kodiaq don't sell due to the overpricing.

      @@akshayakshay9696 Fortuner is doing around 1500-2000 units a month, I would call that a blockbuster. Endeavour is doing 1/4th of the Fortuner around 400-500 units, I would call that a success.
      Tucson, Tiguan and Kodiaq are doing 150-200 units which is 1/8th of the Fortuner and 1/3rd of the Endeavour. They are definitely not a success and the brands are not making profits out of these products. It's an investment loss for them if the numbers aren't achieved.

  • @ravikantreddy1
    @ravikantreddy1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    CRV may be a big hit this time, unless they screw up on price front. Engine downsizing seems to be the new trend. First Marazzo and now CRV. If it helps with fuel efficiency, then it's welcome. These days, I am seeing even those earning 5 lakhs monthly seem worried about fuel efficiency, thanks to our Government's penchant for taking fuel prices to outer space. And also, increased congestion and new anti-speeding laws being put in place everywhere, there is no sense in buying a high-speed car. In any case, SUVs are not meant speed. Sedans and sports car are for speed. Even Endeavour/Fortuner can be beaten in a drag race by a good sedan. So, all in all, I think CRV makes a good buy, especially diesel.

    CRV diesel should have been the twin turbo version of the 1.6 diesel why gives us the same engine no is the twin turbo?
    Petrol should have been the 2.0 VTEC Turbo

    • @akshayakshay9696

      Akshay Kumar na mate they do have powerful diesels like the same 1.6 iDTEC is a twin turbo abroad in the CRV in i dis they launch the same engine with a single turbo which is silly yes it saves cost but this is a CRV not a brio or city Honda engines are decent but their strategy is silly man

    • @akshayakshay9696
      @akshayakshay9696 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ivan Castellino Yes. 165 HP engine. I know. But it requires good quality fuel mate. Twin turbo for 1.6L is little bit more to handle for an engine. They need a 2.0L engine. 1.6L twin turbo is less efficient than 2.0L twin turbo bcz the engine will too much fuel in intake stroke. It will result in improper fuel and air mixture. So less milage and more pollution. If we have Euro VI grade diesel, then they will definitely bring. Twin turbo is really expensive than 2.0L single turbo. It will cost nearly 33 lakhs. So Honda didn't bring that.

    CR-V should not be priced above 27 lacks
    Because road tax and insurance will further take it till almost 33-35 lacks.
    And if the car goes above 33-35 lakhs it won't sell in good numbers as people prefer shifting to endevour or most probably fortuner.

    It was launched in the Philippines in the same specs (120hp, 300Nm)
    The pricing is very high.. Almost the same as Toyota Fortuner, Monterosport and Ford Everest.. higher price than the Toyota Innova (or Crysta in India)..
    My personal conclusion for this car in the Philippines.. Very expensive car for that small amount of engine capability.. Not good in terms of value for money..
    Hope to hear feedback from India about this car.

    Honda should bring in more of their global products like this to India rather than 'India centric' products like the W-RV and then they have a chance. And what's with the Jazz facelift losing magic seats? Not cool Honda!

    • @MotuSid
      @MotuSid 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The WR-V's selling, so I don't think Honda is going to change their mind about it. I'm not justifying their actions but they see this 'cheapness' paying off in terms of profits

    Knowing honda... its “sweet spot” will be above competition.. so above tucson, fortuner and endeavour! They rather let the product fail then price it sensibly! 😏

    Kartikeya sir... it seems that you had a real blast with the Big Boy....
    Pricing should be between 28-31 lakhs to hit the sweetest spot....
    It makes me happy, that my dream car is not off the market ever since it was launched.!!!
    The CR-V is a car that I fell in love at first sight.... But with the second gen it was almost killed...but now it seems the Big Boy is back in town and with much more quotient to kick off the ugly lad that rules the jungle....
    Hope that this car does well... And it is such a sexy yet muscular boy... With every generation the design has been maturing and that's such a rare thing to witness these days... Well done Honda...

    Suvs are not that fun compared to crossovers in my view.. and they spend 99% of their lifr on roads. Only Renault duster and Ford Ecosport are the ones that I truely love driving.. i have test driven many suvs including honda cross wrv, brv.. only ford ecosport is the one I truly love along with duster.. But now i hope to take a test
    drive of this one soon

    In US, it is 21 lakhs, with 1.5 turbo engine ANDDD 190 HP power (compared to 120 HP engine in India).
    Just to be clear 1.5turbo > last years, 2.4 l engine that was running in US and it is also AWD not boring FWD that is shown in this video.
    India gets cheated by car manufacturers big time...

      yes.. mostly cheap price is asked there.. but this asking price is way too much for this meager engine and car specs.
