Honda has to keep the ex-showroom price below 27-28lakhs for the top trim, if they are assembling it in India. In USA, the top spec trim, with a 190hp engine and more safety features, is priced at a mere $33k.
So many vehicle and industry experts in the comments section; already passing their verdicts on the fate of the vehicle. I think Honda and Overdrive both should hire some of these guys for assured success of their respective businesses. 99% won't even be prospective customers. Good review, Overdrive! Can you also include ownership costs in your reviews; what a car would cost over 5, 7 years of ownership, including fuel consumption and servicing costs? Reliability of the brands and resale values? All these details will make car buying decisions easier. Not everyone looks for power and 0-100 times. Lots of buyers with families look at space, comfort, safety, practicality, ease of driving, etc. Having a scoring system for the above would make it easy to compare vehicles and help prospective buyers.
Have been waiting so long for the CRV. i don't understand how it makes such a huge difference in terms of fuel efficiency with same displacement and with different Horsepower. It is a bad decision by Honda just to offer 120 hp diesel engine. When it is being priced similar to Toyota Fortuner which has much power, strong chassis, better off road performance; why would anybody buy Honda CRV. Coming to petrol engine at least 1.5 litre Turbo engine should have been introduced in India. I am sure Honda would face the same kind of sales figures as VW Tiguan in India.
Excellent design, features and automatic transmission . Surprisingly CRV with seven seats and location of AC vents for rear passenger seat. Such vehicle is meant for long touring but lacks navigation. Lastly the the price range should be just right to sell like hot cake.
CRV may be a big hit this time, unless they screw up on price front. Engine downsizing seems to be the new trend. First Marazzo and now CRV. If it helps with fuel efficiency, then it's welcome. These days, I am seeing even those earning 5 lakhs monthly seem worried about fuel efficiency, thanks to our Government's penchant for taking fuel prices to outer space. And also, increased congestion and new anti-speeding laws being put in place everywhere, there is no sense in buying a high-speed car. In any case, SUVs are not meant speed. Sedans and sports car are for speed. Even Endeavour/Fortuner can be beaten in a drag race by a good sedan. So, all in all, I think CRV makes a good buy, especially diesel.
Toyota is top notch with respect to it's rock solid reliability and pocket friendly to maintain. Never think of Skoda. Honda making good vehicles but not so pocket friendly when they go to workshop or service centre.
Interesting review.👍 However I always thought that Honda was smarter. Guess I was wrong then. Anything less than 150 hp and 350 Nm torque on a vehicle of that size is plain ridiculous. Honda diesel engines sold in India are simply pathetic. Now the Tucson seems like a highly underrated vehicle in India.
Trust Me bro, jst luk @ da figures of tucson man it has sum serious business lyk a 2 ltr 185bhp engine with 400Nm torque, with their Auto transmtn dats sumthng Owsum.,.
Is this a paid review? If you guys keep promoting vehicles which are not value for the features they are offering, people will stop watching. Please keep your reviews honest. The reality is this SUV will be a massive flop
Brilliant car, brilliant interiors (except third row of seats) let down by poor power. Outside india, Honda sells this car in twin turbo 160 PS. India also gets the AWD in 120 PS. All this is OKish on a straight line highway. These reviews give unrealistic views. One person in a straight line highway... duh! Give it a full load typical of how indians travel and a ghat section to overcome and you will see how this car will struggle with those power figures. Overtaking is going to be tricky, especially closing close gaps. And knowing honda, they are going to take the pricing very close to 30 Lakhs. dead on arrival will be my take since there are much better options at that price point. Who ever spends 30L or close won't be worrying too much about mileage, rather power figures becomes an important need. and oh, BTW, the automatic transmission is the ZF unit from Range Rover. Hmmm, wondering about the reliability of that now.
sudeepg no more diesel in Europe , only 1.5 and hybrid. 1.5 is good but i believe it’s little bit thirsty and diesel is best choice if you want low consumption. You are lucky that you get new Crv with diesel.
Actually I enquired the top model with automatic AWB , it goes to 36 lackhs + , but not worth as endeavour is much more worth than this , hence the sales would not bid more . 🔥🔥🔥 But thumps 👍 for detail video as also liked for the advance features 👍🔥🔥🔥
Capture is a nice product....but Renault need to work on its interior, practicality and should come up with updated infotainment system to compete Creta.
At 40 lakhs on road price a 150bhp plus engine is mandatory. It does not make any sense to spend 4 times the cost of Honda city on a soft roader vehicle with approximately the same power figures (petrol city vs diesel CRV) especially when the CRV is a whole lot heavier than the Honda city. Honda India have screwed themselves once again by bringing a half baked product to India and taking Indians for granted. I don’t understand what is the problem for the folks in Honda India to bring the twin turbo diesel version to India. Again an example of a potentially great Honda product been let down by a sub standard strategy team. P.S- I am a proud owner of two Honda vehicles and a die hard Honda fan. However I will not purchase an underpowered CRV.
drparthgokhale I am proud to own a Fortuner. Even it may be offering less features than endeavour but the Toyota badge covers it all!! Crv is for mileage but then in this price segment nobody cares about mileage
Bad engine choice and overpriced as per competition. They would have got a 160 bhp dual turbo engine for India too. Y did they chose 120 Hp...? For mileage.....? 36 lakhs on road ...…! Is it worth spending over endeavour or Fortuner or Kodiaq ????

lOl Hyundai Tucson is da best.,.

Honda had worked well on CRV. They took their sweet time to bring this model. Power seems less. Long term review can justify it.
XUV 500 much better choice based on performance, price and space. For looks both 50:50.
Waiting for complete road test as committed by you in this video.
very very nice suv it has everything ....but the most important thing it is not having is power ....only if it had some more power
How did you manage to get Statue Circle so empty? Well reviewed btw.
Could u tell where were u driving... that was quiet a beautiful patch
20L-25L excluding taxes is max anyone should pay for this car.
Honda CRV is overpriced. Afterall its a hyundai Tuscon rival not Fortuner .....
I would say this is a good kid range car to buy if you want to get a good SUV don't look at endeavour or fortuner , mercedes GL classes are best
Is it better than the fortuner and kodiaq?

The 9 speed is not a CVT I guess it's a ZF torque converter unit. Your call-out in the video is wrong.
Karan Sood You are right. I wish the petrol also had come with a 6 or 7 speed auto instead of a cvt.
Bro! it's a 9 speed AT gearbox not a 9 speed CVT.
Moiz Khan and a ZF box at that!
When it's coming to New Zealand
i want one with 2.5 litre vtec petrol
