      This thing was a headache for sure, glad it's running now, I'm working on getting heat in my shop, then contemplating painting my w123, the original paint has about had it, and it's been such a wonderful trustworthy car it deserves a refresh. Took us 1500 miles a couple months ago with not even hardly a hiccup!

      @@trythistv hi I'm doing the same job on my rxp 255 after having drilled the intercooler I'm redoing everything. Do you have any advice for me based on your experience?

    Do i need to do anything with the oil jet? 06 block with an 04 head on it.

    • @trythistv
      @trythistv  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those should be automatically compatible, you will want to leave the oil regulator in the block because the 04 head will have the older style rocker shaft that needs the regulator.
      I would absolutely upgrade the supercharger oiling nozzle (assuming yours is supercharged) if you've got stuff far enough apart: th-cam.com/video/rL2X-0yeezU/w-d-xo.html
      It is a complete game changer for supercharger clutch and bearing reliability.

    How did you get the oil restrictor out

    • @trythistv

      Thread a drywall screw into it and grab the screw with vice grips, then yank on the vice grips

    Hey i got coolsnt in only one cylinder and spark plug melted or smahed what you think?

    • @trythistv
      @trythistv  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Coolant to me says head gasket, or worst case cracked block or head. Coolant could also cause a hydrolock that would smash a spark plug, but might also bend valves.
      Needs the head pulled off, hopefully it is just a head gasket!

    Hi , is it possible to install this engine to 260series? 260Sc is bigger than 215 but most of engine parts are the same right? Oh yea plan to use 11-head and cheaper 05-cranks with new piston maybe.

    • @trythistv
      @trythistv  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep. I'm going to be converting this machine to a 255/260hp at some point in its future. The only real difference between a 215 and 255/260 is the supercharger (just the wheel/housing, the gear, shaft and bearings are the same), an external intercooler, and the fuel injectors. Of course going from 215 to 255/260 will also need a new impeller/prop to make use of the extra HP but the engines are identical internally. Over the years there was upgrades like the supercharger oiling, flywheel bolts that don't snap off, better valves, slight changes to oiling, etc but that's about the extent of it.

    Great video. What size bolts are needed to mount the motor to the stand?

    • @trythistv
      @trythistv  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are M10x1.5 bolts, I rummaged through my bolt bin, and found some that were close to the right length, and used washers as spacers to make them fit halfway decent, I'd imagine M10x1.5 at 100mm length would be real close to perfect for my engine stand, may not hurt to grab a few lengths just to not end up too short and pulling the threads out of the block or something though.

      Hello, I don't speak your language, google translate tells me it is Portuguese and you're looking for torque specs for some bolts, Which bolts do you need the spec for?
      I have translated this message into Portuguese below:

    Hi I just rebuild my 06 gtx 155 but The motor is not getting full rpm and doesn't pass 43 mph ...do you know what could be the problem?

    • @trythistv
      @trythistv  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A 155 I'd expect to be about 50-55, did you do anything to the jet pump? A damaged or improperly pitched prop could cause low rpm and loss of speed, past that, if nothing has changed pump wise, check compression, as well as injector flow and spray pattern.
      43mph I would expect it's only turning about 6000-6500ish rpm? Normally a 155hp machine turns closer to 7400rpm. How does it idle? 1800 on the nose and smooth or could you have a bad spark plug or coil pack?

    • @cubanh22
      @cubanh22 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@trythistv yeaah I was checking the rpm and it s doing around 6400 or 6500 rpm...it doesn't go more...and I know it goes until 7200 or more
      Idle doesn't fell smooth I will check the spark plugs and the coils

    • @trythistv
      @trythistv  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was on an 07 RXP 155 earlier today, and about 7300rpm is where it topped out at, mid 50s, might have gotten a little more had it not been so busy on the lake.
      In your case I would highly suspect a bad plug. It'll tend to idle a bit rough at 1600-1700rpm instead of the 1800rpm it should idle at.

    Why don't you want the sodium filled valves?

    • @trythistv
      @trythistv  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are prone to weakening from corrosion and breaking off right where the stem meets the head of the valve. The exhaust valves are more known for that form of failure due to seeing more heat, as well as humidity from the hot exhaust meeting the water in the waterbox.
      I often see small rust pits on the exhaust valves, and I'm in a 100% freshwater environment so a saltwater machine would be even more prone to the sodium filled valves failing.
