Part 2? YES! I have to say how much I enjoy your videos! Some videos I can just listen to while I do something else. But your videos I have to watch with 100% attention. There is so much family fun, interactions and facial expressions that can't be missed!
One week later, after the West African Peanut Stew was a win, I just made the Indian Split Pea (with a bag of mixed beans because it's all I had). ANOTHER WINNER! I make A LOT of soups so my family KNOWS good soup when they taste it. Both of these are SO big on flavor, nutrient density and easy on the home cook! THANK YOU! Keep 'em comin'. (BTW I too have two discerning teenage kiddos so winning them over is a big kudos to you!)
We’re happy to hear it. High five for winning over your teens! It's a kudos to the cookbook authors from this original video - I don't think anything here was our recipes - outside of whatever swaps we did - but we'll take our part of the compliment :)
Yes, do a Part 2 please. The tomato soup was absolutely easy and absolutely delicious - I'm making it a second day in a row. I added tofu cubes and cooked rice, for more texture. And thank you for the perfect tip of blending the cashews in the milk in advance.
Hi Jeremy. I loved this video featuring soups and would love part 2. On the potato vegetable leek soup, I believe you forgot to put the recipe in the video. At least I could not find it. Please post the recipe since that one sounded especially delicious and I want you to try making it. Also I already preordered your cookbook and I look forward to receiving it. So if the recipe is in your book, then I’m good. 😊 Yumm for soup 🥣
Once again, I am so excited when you make recipes out of cookbooks that I already own but haven't made yet. I'm definitely going to make nisha's African peanuts stew tonight.
Excellent video! My husband and I usually have soup for lunch - even in hot weather! I am ordering your cookbook right now. Good job. This is from Leslie who is in her winter home in Florida. Hopefully, no more hurricanes for a while
Part 2 please 😊 Loved this episode so much- perfect timing- cold weather is hitting me next week- Susan from Belgium has been vacationing in Spain!😂. Just pre-ordered your cookbook- so excited- and big congratulations- downloading tomorrowwwww!😊👍👍
Hi Jeremy and family, from Carolyn in Seattle, Washington! I really enjoyed watching you make these recipes and I’m excited to make them also, especially the tomato soup. I’m all for quick and easy. I’m also really excited about your cookbook coming out and I know I will enjoy those recipes as well! Thanks so much for putting out such great content for us all.😊
I’m going to make some of these for sure! I’m on Woolie’s team and not a fan of tomatoes, so please do a part two and add more non-tomato recipes. Thank you!
Will need to try these soups especially now it's getting colder and they are an excellent food version of central heating. Thanks Jeremy for sharing this video and recipes and part 2 definitely would be appreciated. Love 🥰 the video and love 💕 Jeremy & family.
Mmm, soup! I believe stews include meats, the long stewing time was needed to break down the collagen, which tenderizes the meat. A stew hen was a tough old bird that wouldn't cook well in a faster style of cooking. And if you stew on something, you are usually thinking over something for a long time. Cookbook- preordered and i am looking forward to it! Congratulations on doing it YOUR WAY!
Have tried sunflower seeds a couple of times as a sub for cashews and it's a no go for me - too much sunflower taste. I have found that white beans are the best sub for cashews and I often use them interchangeably, or half&half, for instance in "cheese" sauces. All of these soups sound delicious and perfect for the season we are in.
Just gotta tell you that the compliments keep pouring in from my friends who I made these soups for. I printed out the recipes and sent each of them links to your instructional video. One of my friends said his mom loved the soups I sent home with him and now she wants the recipes. (That will make another 'share' for your channel). These soups are definitely a hit!
Have you shared how to make garlic bread? That's something I've really missed having and would enjoy with many soups. I just bought an immersion blender so I'm excited to try more soup recipes, especially the tomato soup on this video. Thanks Jeremy!
I haven't. I would Brand New Vegan has a corn butter recipe - we reviewed it - I might blitz that with some garlic and spread it on toast. Give it a shot!
Id love it if you could incorporate instructions in your book for making the soups in the Instant Pot, as Im trying to use mine more 😊 gotta try that curry coconut soup soon 😮🎉
Though super expensive compared to sunflower seeds, pine nuts are usually safe for nut free needy people, and are pretty high in fat content like a cashew, but the flavour of cashews is so good. I usually do a mix of pumpkin, sunflower, and pine nuts to sub for cashew. I wish we did not have nut allergy in the home, because I LOVE cashews. Oh yeah, I recently started using soft silken tofu for any creams and sauces. It works pretty well. 2 things I can't abide are big pieces of greens - they must be chopped tiny, and globby tomatoes -they must be blended into absolute smoothness (blame my family for feeding me canned stewed tomatoes; possibly the grossest thin besides animal parts in a can. My tomato soup recipe starts from Laura Miller of Raw. Vegan. Not gross. The recipes are not all raw, obviously, by this soup recipe... She cuts up the tomatoes and just throws them in an oven pan with all the herbs, lotso thyme, basil, salt pepper a wee bit of maple syrup (that may be a la Buddhist chef) seasoning including a dash of cayenne, and the cloves of garlic, roasts them I don't know about 20 minutes I forget. Then blends everything super smooth. So Yummy. I do similar with potatoes. Though I use a different set of spices.
Thanks for sharing your tips and insights-it’s always great to hear how others adapt recipes for their needs! Your mix of pumpkin, sunflower, and pine nuts as a cashew substitute is such a clever idea. I get it; cashews have that unique, rich flavor that’s hard to beat, but your workaround sounds delicious and allergy-friendly. Soft silken tofu for creams and sauces is another awesome tip; it’s versatile and blends into such a smooth base. I’m with you on the greens and tomatoes-texture can make all the difference. Your rule about finely chopping greens and blending tomatoes smooth is relatable, especially when memories of stewed canned tomatoes come into play (I feel you on that!). Your take on the tomato soup from Laura Miller sounds incredible. Roasting tomatoes with herbs and garlic adds such a depth of flavor, and finishing it with a blend to silky smoothness? Chef’s kiss. I bet your spin on it with potatoes and your choice of spices is equally delicious. Thanks for sharing all these great ideas and adaptations!
Okay, I made 4 of the soups 2 days ago and gave 16 oz samples to 5 of my friends so far. These soups are knock your socks off delicious! Wowzers! The tomato soup was far better than canned tomato soup, but it was not the most amazing of the lot. Its hard to pick my favorite from the other three soups, but I will try. I think Indian Split Pea wins top spot in my opinion, both the coconut curry lentil, and the West African Peanut Stew are not far behind. I am inclined to agree with Annie that adding raisins to the West African Stew would add another welcome dimension to the stew (especially if the raisins cooked with it and got big and soft as a result). But it was really good without raisins too. Wow! I'm so impressed with these soup recipes. I would definitely enjoy another video of cozy soup or stew recipes. Thanks so much!
Just saw a weather forecast predicting our first snowfall for the season, and with this IRIE premiere, it pays to be prepared for it with Soup time, to chase those winter cold blues away. Fraternal hugs and Like #18 for your family and you Jeremy.🤠
I'm in Toronto - so that's like asking someone in New York for recommendations on restaurants in LA... I haven't spent much time in Van, so sadly can't help. Anyone else??? Where my Vancouver people at???
Hey can't wait to make the Tomato soup. Anything for the taste of good old Campbell's in a can which I refuse to eat today. However it does look like you're pouring in to 14 oz cans, instead of 28 Oz which would make a lot of soup. Can you please confirm? Can't wait to make it tonight.
Part 2? YES! I have to say how much I enjoy your videos! Some videos I can just listen to while I do something else. But your videos I have to watch with 100% attention. There is so much family fun, interactions and facial expressions that can't be missed!

Will need to try these soups especially now it's getting colder and they are an excellent food version of central heating. Thanks Jeremy for sharing this video and recipes and part 2 definitely would be appreciated. Love 🥰 the video and love 💕 Jeremy & family.
I liked this one. Thanks for sharing PBwJ.
You're welcome!
Definitely need a part 2, love your soup & stew recipes, thanks Jeremy. Laurie from Massachusetts
Thanks Laurie!
Thank you!
Part 2 Yes please!😊

Love me a good compilation video! I want soup and stew. Creamy tomato soup, lentil stew and split pea are my favorites!

Oh I'm hungry. I wonder if I have ingredients for making a soup for breakfast. 🤔

Hi, love your work, am watching the video on soup n stews, what recipe book r u using, anyone knows?.
Have you shared how to make garlic bread? That's something I've really missed having and would enjoy with many soups. I just bought an immersion blender so I'm excited to try more soup recipes, especially the tomato soup on this video. Thanks Jeremy!

I've made the Golden Lentil by Oh She Glows MANY times. Good stuff! I do tahini in place of the cashews.
Got the pre-order…! From Dallas/Texas
Yeah!
Id love it if you could incorporate instructions in your book for making the soups in the Instant Pot, as Im trying to use mine more 😊 gotta try that curry coconut soup soon 😮🎉
There's some IP soups in there, but here's a video giving you my formula: th-cam.com/video/lFOMOrblfw4/w-d-xo.html

Thanks for the fraternal hug! Winter is coming - bundle up!
Incredibowl!
Have you ever tested recipes from the wicked kitchen….Sarnoff brothers? Yes to part two as well. Brantford Ontario
Love Derek and Chad!
How about some soup cookbook reviews? I'm thinking of Love Soup, older but great book!
Great idea!
How long do you soak the yellow split peas?
generally I don't soak split peas
Very nice tasty 🎉
Hey Courtney from Deltaville! I have had relatives there for decades! Would be weird if you knew them, huh? 😂
Hi Jeremy,
I will be traveling to Vancouver Canada soon. Any recommendations for great vegan food there? Also, loved all the soup recipes!
I'm in Toronto - so that's like asking someone in New York for recommendations on restaurants in LA... I haven't spent much time in Van, so sadly can't help.
Anyone else??? Where my Vancouver people at???
Hi! In the first recipe does the t stand for tsp. or tbsp. ?
t = tsp, T = tbsp
Does anyone have any suggestions. I'm having some company over and one of them cannot have garlic or onions. What can I add for more flavor?
Miso?..... fresh herbs and spices rosemary - mmmmm
In Canada our Tomato cans are 28oz
The tomato soup seems easiest to me, but I listened twice but never saw cooking time? Was that an instant pot?
Oh np - did I miss that?
🌻🌻🌻
😂I like a shout out-Rosemary Henry Ozone Park, New York-I like a preview of a cookbook, Robin Robertson, 1,000 vegan Recipes and vegan planet
I’m so glad you loved the sneak peeks! Adding that to the list!
Pre-ordered!
Yummmmm…..🥣🥣🥣🥣🥣
