    This is epic. Rockwell Blake is the most amazing Rossinian tenor ever.

    Epic~! Thank you for sharing! I think Blake is the only tenor I've heard treat us to a true trill. He uses the trill (in a way) as a female voice would, in my opinion. It is not neglected. DiStefano said Callas "She sings like a man, with such passion." I'll say the same about Blake in a way. He includes the passion of a 'female' singer with the artistic nature.

      Completely agree, his ornaments are seen in female singing yet his voice musculine...

      Other than Pavarotti trilling now and then in O sole mio, we rarely hear men trill. I wonder why the trill and ornaments left the male voices.

      It was an extremely well-executed trill!

      @@magicmonkichi At least when I was still singing, most of the male singers I knew considered _fioriture_ to be feminine/effeminate. Because of that, they didn't expend much effort or discipline learning to sing them, and they absolutely dreaded having to perform any ornaments at all. They all wanted to sing Verdi and Puccini. I blame voice teachers for not cracking the whip.

    • @LohengrinO
      @LohengrinO  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@arjaygee ... the lack of that whip is the reason there are no big artists today... you are not allowed to whip the youngsters... I think Russia is the last castle to fall... it still produces prima ballerinas... using of whip is not only politically incorrect in our days but it can lead you to a court??? :D

    Mr Morino posses a beautiful vocal timbre. It demonstrates a golden glow touched by a slight smokiness.

    There is an incredible laminar-like flow to his breath and tone in his middle register, almost like the pulsing jet of a fountain, that must just be a blast for him to tear into. You can tell he loves it and so do I. It’s thrilling.

      Not pulsing, undulating.

      dont know it it is his technique or natural cords, probably both, but it is indeed so thrilling... and in a way totally Unique

    Bah moi qui redoutait son Isolde, avec une distribution plus légère que d’habitude, ce serait tout à fait crédible.
    Pour rappel, la première Isolde et le premier Tristan étaient tous deux des voix lyrique et non dramatique! Avec Alagna en Tristan ! 🙏♥️♥️♥️

    Ermione is easily one of Rossini's best, and it has yet to gain the recognition it deserves outside of academia.

    • @LohengrinO
      @LohengrinO  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      it contains a role none can sing, Pirro, it is the male Armida... and dont tell me here that Montsy with a voice broken into 1000 pieces sings Ermione... she just uses her legendary status to get away with this role... Horne inaudible as always...

      @@LohengrinO Montsy was once rather roundly booed in this role, if I'm not mistaken.

    I get the impression that Morino thinks he's the main character here: He makes sure he stays center-stage and elevated over Blake the entire time, while somehow overacting despite hardly doing anything at all.
