Unrelated, but I also love how the hammer defies physics, "missing" a hammer swing just for the monster to move it's head towards you at the end of the animation and take the full damage 😅😅
I actually meant to include delayed hit lag in the script. It is super noticeable on aerial attacks, and I have clip after clip showing just how delayed it can be (some are even more pronounced than the Ice hammer Kulve clip). And I LOVE IT.

I couldn’t NOT have that Speen in the video somewhere... ;) Hope you enjoy it! On Lance and SnS, I don’t think I’m going to have time to get to those weapons in Iceborne. I tried SnS in particular for a couple days but couldn’t get it to click in a timely manner. The good news is I’m going to pick up at least a couple more weapons in Rise, and SnS/CB/Lance are on my shortlist at the moment! My goal is to be at least somewhat proficient in half of the weapons.
@@Matadurr Aww that's okay. Don't sweat it. These are already all pretty fantastic, short and sweet guides for weapons I haven't had solid builds yet. GS needs some tweaking and Hammer has been on the bench for a while. Never thought of using Frostcraft on it tho, might give it a swing. Considering Rise might have similar armor system to MHW:I, these might still be good just for general ideas on how build around certain weapons. Again, thanks for making them. They're real fun! P.S.: Rise's Lance is amazing, received some neat buffs and Rise's SnS got tweaked to the point of being pretty ridiculously more versatile then it ever been. Especially with Perfect Rush being able to be canceled or combo'd into. Rise is going to be one hell of a fun time to learn those weapons.

Yep! Like I mentioned in another reply, I’ll be trying to pick up a couple more weapons in Rise. Would love to be able to somewhat competently play half of the weapon roster.

As soon as I got Iceborne at the start of this year on PC, I knew full well what I wanted my final goal to be: The main raw damage build at the start of the video. As of last week,. After just over 6 months, I can finally say I've created the build in it's entirety. And it only took... Lemme see here... *175 TEOSTRA KILLS!?* Are there even any left in the New World!? Oh dear god, is my lust for maximum bonk a direct cause of an extinction!? *WORTH IT!*
Now just imagine how many more hours it would take to get those attack+ decos in “normal” circumstances… Regardless, congrats! Hope you enjoy the most that bonking in Iceborne has to offer!
I just recently started playing Hammer (I used to exclusively main DualBlades) so this was alot of fun and exciting to watch! Cant wait to get there! Great video :D
Good luck! Stay near a slope or ledge, and you'll have a great time. Don't forget to try and always have a power charge (where the hammer is glowing with an outline), so you will have innate flinch-free.
Do it! You won't regret it. Just remember to save the big bang combo for large openings like topples/wall bangs. Charged moves are your bread and butter when a monster is up and about since you can run around while charging.
That’s definitely the plan! A lot of it depends on just how deep each weapon tree goes, and my limiting factor will be time. I’d like to have a video for low-rank builds, high-rank builds, and endgame builds for at least the five weapons I’m comfortable playing. The problem is that even if I focus on a couple raw, a couple elemental, and a few status sets, I’m still looking at a big editing and time commitment for each video. I’ll do my best, but given that the game will be new for everyone for quite some time, I just hope my audience has some patience. :)

Appreciate it! Most monsters in World/Iceborne are pretty good with hammer, aside from brute wyverns like Deviljho/Anjanath. It gets worse in Rise with the leviathans like Almudron…
The dunk on crazy chicken at 1:22 was satisfying asf Is Coalescence viable on Hammer? Wouldn't Peak Perf be best or Slugger from Frostfang greaves?Also is elemental Hammer viable? Cause I normally use Face Demolisher (for raw not relying on 150 Dragon) or Lightbreak even though I have nearly all of the Kjàrr elemental Hammers
I honestly didn't realize it was a head-snipe until I slowed the clip down in post. A perfect dunk indeed! Coalescence is definitely viable. Since you'll be running rocksteady or throwing yourself at monsters non-stop, peak performance won't usually have a high uptime. Once Coal procs, it's active for 90 seconds I believe, regardless of health. The meta damage build has both, though, so they're both useful. On fiery fights like Teostra/Lunastra, PP is a relative waste. But on fights like Kushala or other monsters that can't blight you, feel free to sub PP in Coal's place. Frostfang's equipment is great for rarity 11, but still it doesn't beat the efficiency of Fatty/AT Velk's armor. Punishing draw is only a small damage boost (equivalent to a might pill on that first hit), and for hammer is only really useful on an end-mount attack. I'd direct you to the Slugger 5 build if you want more KOs. Locking down monsters has never been easier with that set. Elemental hammer is definitely viable, but it's dependent on good matchups. Elemental effects on monsters are not to be ignored, too (aura control on Teostra with Ice/Water weapons, Vaal's effluvium control with Fire weapons, etc.). The only really good Kjarr elemental hammer is Thunder, and like I mention in the video it slightly beats the Safi one, but you have to run full Safi armor with the Kjarr if you want to beat the elemental damage of Safi's Boltcrusher. TCE is a lot comfier, and includes slinger capacity 5.

Glad you enjoyed it! My time with Monster Hunter World has more or less come to an end (and I’m still working hard to get the next video out for Sunbreak). However I do plan on continuing the series in Wilds and hope to pick up a new weapon or two like Charge Blade.
It’s the Safi-Jiiva layered armor, I believe the cape comes with the beta chest piece (the alpha has a shorter one if I remember correctly). I just change the color of the cape with layered armor settings. Thanks!

It really sucks because in Iceborne you either deal with the RNG madness of decoration farming (though it's at least more fun because of tempered investigations and cool event quests for sealed feystones), or the RNG BS of talisman farming in Rise. Both systems aren't ideal. I wish you the best RNG going forward!

You know anytime I think of hammers I think of a friend I know who made a hammer build that as the duller the hammer the got the more damage they did. I don't know how they did it, but it sounds awesome.
The Adamantine charm has a skill called bludgeoner that raises attack damage as sharpness decreases and boosts ranged weapon melee damage and stun chance.
Frostfang's gear is pretty good for stacking crit eye and slugger relatively efficiently, but it's still outclassed by the endgame armors. It is not a bad option at all, though, depending on what you currently have access to. If you're wanting punishing draw, it's useless for hammer.
@@shadownight9956 yeah intuitively you would think the basic full charge attack from sheathed would count, but it doesn’t. Punishing draw is really great for GS and LS though.
im not saying you should el matadurr, but because of the hype of wilds, but finishing the rest of the build a better hunter series with the other weapons. should definitely do if you have time.
Great question. Before tackling Fatalis, mixing armor from Raging Brachy and Furious Rajang often makes for a good set, especially when you pair it all with Raging Brachy’s hammer. If you haven’t gotten to those two yet, the Royal Cross Mace combined with the elementless boost skill is a good place to start!

Can you make a crazy survival/healing hammer build that revolves around super recovery, mushroomancer max health augment, free meal with wide range if possible to heal the noobies and avoid a wipe. I enjoy immortal builds even if it means doing less damage.
Hmm. I could see that working with Vaal essence on a Shattercrusher. That way you can still do 4-piece Fatalis to have tons of slots and all secret caps unlocked. Have you tried using the wiki set builder?
Great question. Easily answered because poison duration up is a bad set bonus that requires one subpar rathian piece at a minimum. Not only does it add just a couple ticks of poison damage, it prevents hunters from running other pieces of armor to boost damage/comfort. 3-piece goldian + 2-piece fatty is a good combo that balances damage along with great poison build-up. Anything else is a major step backwards.
@@FeatherSword446 I totally understand! I wanted that combo to work, and tried it out for a little while. If you don’t have access to Fatalis, it can work decently well. And poison-weak monsters will still feel that toxic status even more, for sure! It’s just that Fatalis broke the meta the same way raging brachy and furious Rajang did. The armor is just way too efficient and dripping with skill slots, making it useful in all kinds of mixed sets.
I wouldn't recommend doing triple-impact echo wave performances on a fighting monster. Unless...you have rocksteady ready to go. In that case, ROCK ON!
