Tim Minchin is hilarious. I love the way he draws out the joke by spelling it then completely upending your expectations. And then playing around with rhymes. Just great stuff.
    Great little bonus. :)

Tim is amazing, he is really such a nice guy and ridiculously talented, but he's also so original and interesting. I love the difference between the song 'White Wine In The Sun' which he wrote for his baby daughter, and 'Lullaby' which he wrote when he had his baby son. Hilarious. Consider doing a Tim week though, it'll be well received I'm sure. Thanks for another great reaction guys.

Dark Side (Awesome Version), is the height of his technical genius on the piano, and a bloody amazing experience all around. I am probably approaching having watched a hundred different reactors discover this one particular performance.
Thank you God, or his completely different beat poem Storm, are exemplars of his searing, withering intellect, wit and way with words when it comes to religious or anti-science thinking. Thank You God reminds me of the equally withering and delightful Tom Lehrer, that sardonic music comedian performing at the height of the Cold War 1950's and 60s. (while Lehrer had much to say about USAmericans sheltering Nazi scientists, who can forget the delightful 'Poisoning Pigeons In The Park'?)
Thank You God with the MSO is probably the most Tim Minchiny of all Tim Minchin's songs, and a must do. It exemplifies why Lawrence Krauss, the physicist and cosmologist hosted Tim on his science podcast Origins to talk about communicating the 'scientific method' and critical thinking. However if limited to just 5 songs, I personally love Storm even better, and it does the same job.
Not Perfect, by the final verse is a deeply relatable, even emotional ballad about being human. If anyone is surprised by the extremely different musical career Minchin has had after the musicals, where he has turned to romantic and sad ballads about the breakup of his very long time marriage with his teenage sweetheart, this early ballad demonstrates that beautiful, wistful side of him was always there in seed form.
White Wine In The Sun is not only funny, thoughtful, beautiful, and emotional by turns, but is the definitive narrative about how 85% of Australians relate to and celebrate Christmas. Its also the song that was the deciding factor in him being approached to write the music for Matilda.
Lullaby is the song for ALL parents, and everyone who understands what parents go through, and how hard babies are. It also goes for a wild musical ride, and the version with the MSO is perfect to get the full effect.
I'll Take Lonely Tonight is the ballad for every faithful person in a monogamous relationship. A love song to the woman he might have fallen in love with, if he wasn't already profoundly in love with his wife, and profoundly relieved to resist temptation. Its the only Tim Minchin song I'd recommend the video for over a live performance, because there's something very haunting about Tim Minchin in a Suit in a boat in a kaleidoscope.

The "Ranga" thing is big in Oz as well. When I was growing up [had Scottish heritage with a Grandfather called 'Carrot Top' ] we had tea making rules, you NEVER put milk in your tea first unless you wanted red-headed kids. Also Americans never understand that Gingernuts are biscuits here and in the UK ....... they all seem to think he has gone straight to crude and not a double entendre . I think my 2 favourite Tim Minchin pieces are Storm [live on stage] and Lullaby. Oh and I didn't remember the Hippopotomus song until it got to the "Mud, mud, glorious mud!" chorus. Thanks guys! : )

I like observing first reactors from the USA black community with this one by Tim. He leads them down the garden path, then.... Some get it straight away, many are uppity about it until the penny drops (and rightly so) but for some it never does and it goes over the top. Aussies call redheads 'Blue/y'.

You should see Tim as Judas in the Jesus Christ Superstar Live Arena Tour or playing 6 sold out nights at Royal Albert Hall with the 60 piece Heritage Orchestra or as Friar Tuck in 2018 Robin Hood or composing the lyrics and music for Matilda the Musical winner of 4 Tony Awards, 12 nominations or as writer, executive producer, starring with Milly Alcock, now in its 2nd season, Upright, the story of a man and a 16 year old runaway driving across Australia to return the family piano, or after 7 year absence returning with the 2019 BACK tour, a slightly matured Tim, a touch cynical, less silly, even more clever and his music has gone to another level.

If it's the intellectual side of Tim Minchin that you're after, watch Storm. It's genius, hysterical, and my mantra. A line in it is now referred to as "the Minchin Corollary" rhetorical device.
Others have also recommended Thank You God, and I endorse that. It is in the same vein as Storm, so also most certainly worth a look.

Saw an interview by Tim Minchin given to Aboriginal journalist Stan Grant where he was challenged about the song's lyrics in that, even though he dosen't directly say the N word, everyone knows what he is referencing. Tim acknowledged this point and said that the song can still be hurtful to people of colour, he finds it difficult to perform since he has become aware of this fact and that he probably wouldn't have written it today To be so reflective and thoughtful about his work in my mind is a true testament to his character.
