What a hit piece! Nicklaus has meant so much to golf not just because of his record but also in the manner he has conducted himself.Integrity, sportsmanship, and honesty are trademarks of his character! He was likely the smartest player ever and this is exemplified by his focus on major championships Majors 18 first 19 seconds 54 top 5 73 top 10’s It will be a long time until anyone achieves a record like that!
@@eddiestorey9633 Woods would have lost all the time if he had better competition than Davis Love 111 and other very average players. Nicklaus had to contend first with Snead and Hogan, then Palmer, Player, Watson, and so many other fantastic golfers.
My Dad's hero was Jack. Died in 1985. Jack won Masters in 1986. I just wish and wish he'd survived one more year. To see his hero win the Masters.....what he wouldn't have given.
This is actually a very fair piece. It tells of the things that Nicklaus succeeded at, his notoriety over the years, and some of the mistakes he made in business by getting greedy. However, saying that his ability to win as much starting in 1968 is not properly explained. By his own admission, there were only a half a dozen great players in the 50's and early 60's. The all of a sudden Lee Trevino, Tom Watson, Ray Floyd, Hale Irwin, Johnny Miller, Tony Jacklin, David Graham, Lanny Wadkins and others appeared on the scene, and they gave him much more competition.
Nicklaus is and always was full of himself. He is his greatest fan. Likes to arrive late at the tee in exhibitions then he showboats. His win rate was 12%. Tigers win rate was 25%. Tiger was better. Don’t forget Tigers world events that don’t count as majors. Nor does the FedEx cup count. Nor does Tigers 6 USGA wins. Nor does Tigers Vardon trophy wins (more than Nicklaus) count. And Tihers scoring average was better than Nicklaus. There is more. TIGER WAS BETTER. GET OVER IT.

“Recent bad play”? Seriously? He’s 84 years old.
Greatest champion in golf history. Jack is the best ever. PERIOD

Business is a very corrupt thing. Imagine a business process, set up in such a way, that you can’t even use your own name? 🤯
he is jack the GOAT!
Johnny Miller and Tom Watson got to be the Golden Bear for a few seconds. They'd be proud.
there is no secret that stays a secret forever...
What dark side? Never mentioned his Masters win at 46. Weak.
