The one lesson Tiger forgot to learn from Jack, which cost Tiger the title as the undisputed G.O.A.T was "I put my family before golf".... Imagine how many more majors Tiger would have won if he had just adhered to that one simple lesson from day 1.
I read a cute story that Jack told himself. When he was a boy he played alone nearly every Summer morning. Like most clubs Scioto had a rule that juniors could not tee off before 8AM in the morning and then not until after 3PM in the afternoon. So every morning he would cut through a neighborhood yard that was on a tee (I don’t remember if it was front or back nine) that allowed him to play 4 holes and then be on the first tee right at 8AM. He would then play 18, eat lunch and then practice until he could tee off again in the afternoon. This ritual went on for several years. He said he had no idea who owned the yard he cut through and they never once came out to ask him to stop.
I heard a sports writer the other day trying to make the case that Tiger is better than Jack Nicklaus. All I could do is laugh. Let’s look at the facts: 18 Major Victories. 6 Masters, 5 PGAs, 4 US Opens, and 3 Open Championships. He has 19 second place finishes at the major championships. He also played against better competition during his career with worse equipment and on worse manicured golf courses. There is no question Jack is G.O.A.T.!
Better competition? You really think the field of golfers hadn’t got better from 1970 to 2000? Every single competitive sport has grown and become more competitive.
Ah good point.. but in my humble opinion... have today's overpaid clones play with the equipment of his genre...McGregor keyhole driver, Dunlop Aussie blade irons,,WOOSIE used them so, he's worthy of mention also,, now.... Jack would analiate the field.... Trevino Watson / Tom,,not the other one😂😂 & Sevvy would battle it out in the OTHER tournament.❤👠🍺🍸🍸🍹⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳ oh balata ball as well 😂⛳⛳⛳

Jack Nicklaus will always go down as the "Greatest of all time" because of his equipment. No Tour Pro today would play persimmon woods with steel shafts and a balata ball. His 18 Majors would equate to 36 Majors with current-day technology.
Jack’s swing coach was Jack Grout, who taught Hogan; Jack learnt golf course management from Hogan; Jack’s putting style was learnt from the best Bobby Locke. Learnt from the best to be the best, ever.

When is Lee going to get his? Truly speaks to what the OPEN means. Love this Jack one tho.
Stay tuned!
Same with Ben Hogan! A US Open legend!!
It's arrived. th-cam.com/video/drxNnksxzgg/w-d-xo.html
2:10 When I hear that record, I just can't believe.
To this day I continue to get the impression that Jack is the best mind in sports. Not golf, sports.
하품도 안하는데 눈물이 찔끔 하네요!
Jack is my first golf ☆STAR☆
The golden bear and Record
Holder!
And prolific golf course designer I played one of his courses it was a bargain on golfnow one of the best I ever played!
You can tell how much the first win at the US amateur championship meant to Jack due to the fact he forgot to take his hat off when shaking hands.
the best golfer ever
Brilliant 👌🔥🤩
What a Class Act this guy is my God Class Act
Concentration 💡........better than any human
I heard a sports writer the other day trying to make the case that Tiger is better than Jack Nicklaus. All I could do is laugh. Let’s look at the facts: 18 Major Victories. 6 Masters, 5 PGAs, 4 US Opens, and 3 Open Championships. He has 19 second place finishes at the major championships. He also played against better competition during his career with worse equipment and on worse manicured golf courses. There is no question Jack is G.O.A.T.!
And didn’t put in half the effort and work Tiger did.
Better competition? You really think the field of golfers hadn’t got better from 1970 to 2000? Every single competitive sport has grown and become more competitive.
Jack in his prime using today's technology? He might've been unbeatable!
No doubt... Would've been hitting his driver in the upper 300s low 400s easily.
Ah good point.. but in my humble opinion... have today's overpaid clones play with the equipment of his genre...McGregor keyhole driver, Dunlop Aussie blade irons,,WOOSIE used them so, he's worthy of mention also,, now.... Jack would analiate the field.... Trevino Watson / Tom,,not the other one😂😂 & Sevvy would battle it out in the OTHER tournament.❤👠🍺🍸🍸🍹⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳ oh balata ball as well 😂⛳⛳⛳
Jack would be the best today. But with the world wide expansion of the game, 18 majors would not have been in his reach today.
jack in Tigers era, would've had no chance against Tiger.
@@habs7646 Tiger beats Jack in their 20's. In their 30's? Tiger is licking his Wounds, and Jack has Clear Sailing all the way to the Finish Line.
🐐 PERIOD
A truly great American for reasons that extend far beyond his prowess on the golf course. And so is his dear wife who has spearheaded the great work they do for sick kids.
I think Tiger also does tremendous work for kids. both are great with their charity work

It's one thing to be a king by doing and saying all the cool things yourself. When other people are saying all the cool things FOR you, you're a king among kings.
Jack Nicklaus will always go down as the "Greatest of all time" because of his equipment. No Tour Pro today would play persimmon woods with steel shafts and a balata ball. His 18 Majors would equate to 36 Majors with current-day technology.
19 times runner up in majors....that's how good he was,,
holy shit i didn't know that!
We need another big 3 to promote the game
Jack’s swing coach was Jack Grout, who taught Hogan; Jack learnt golf course management from Hogan; Jack’s putting style was learnt from the best Bobby Locke. Learnt from the best to be the best, ever.
Hogan, Palmer, Player, Watson, Trevino, Miller...etc..he had to beat many greats
