Thanks Edgar, The first two races have been cancelled and we don't know yet about the rest of the season. Best thing to do is follow our website and Facebook page; www.rcunlimiteds.com m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=102604076461718&ref=content_filter
Motor rotation. In full size boats the engines rotate clockwise which causes the right side sponson to lift, so by turning left they hold the right sponson down. In RC's the motors rotate counterclockwise which tends to lift the left sponson and so... We turn right. The real question should be, why do RC engine manufacturers build counterclockwise rotation motors?!
Question. I have a glow 1/8th scale Miller American hydro. It weighs in at 17 pounds. That just seems way to heavy, or is it just me. (It is about 25 years old)
It's heavy by today's standards, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't necessarily compete reasonably well. My boats are generally around 10.5 - 11 lbs, but 13 -15 lb boats are common and run well
Scott, you are a master builder. Thanks for sharing what you know

Why do RC boats go around the course clockwise when the full size boats go counter-clockwise?

@@M5PerfHydros Thanks for the answer. Now I'm curious as to why the RC engines builders do what they do.
Where's my buddy Russ Nachweich?
You'll have to ask him! Haven't seen him at a race in a long time
