A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I'm Dean Wolfe, a mostly self-taught Canadian guitarist/composer/multi-instrumentalist/singer/producer/performer. I started out as a full time musician on the road at age 17 for two years, but went part-time ever since while holding day careers including as a chef and in spiritual health care while raising a family.
I've recorded hundreds of my own songs- many being used in media and award winning documentaries etc. I've been in several bands including a prog/jazz fusion act nFuze, performing in International Jazz festivals and jazz clubs. I abandoned the prog genre more or less back in the 1990s but have returned to it now with vigour a full 30 years later- so much prog I've ignored and quite frankly didn't have any idea about. My own prog band was rejected by record labels as "too progressive' in the late 80s, so i detoured into grunge, pop and alternative instead (then folk and acoustic fingerstyle guitar and ambient electric as well).

Love this band. They get WAY too much hate, but that's what can happen when a band sees mainstream success
Hate? Definitely unnecessary, they are an asset to the music scene doing such original stuff

Well reacted. And you're quite right. Even Tobias himself isn't very happy about the mix of infestissumam today and have said in interviews that he would like to re record the whole album if he could. But he learned from it and when he now released the new single Hunter's Moon there's two versions because he wasn't really happy about the first one and recorded it once more with a different producer.
This song is amazing live!
I think I heard this song is literally about the feeling of nostalgia, and somehow they made it creepy. In the live kazoo version (th-cam.com/video/VgamwEi90w4/w-d-xo.html) they turn the surf bit into a Spanish/flamenco part.

Thankyou sir for chosing Ghuleh/Zombie Queen! This song is so amazing! It really shows just how talented Tobias is. Welcome to our family by the way. My sugestion for you would be He Is but there is so much to choose from so just keep listening and you will find your own favorites.
Hope Ghost will bring this number back into their live set someday. If you thinks it's great on the album, you gotta hear it live in person.
Love me some Ghost! I think the production and some song writing choices on this album held them back a bit. The beginning of the album is very strong, then you have Year Zero, Body & Blood and of coures Ghuleh. The rest is only "kinda good" compared to the material on their next album Meliora, which is my favorite to this day.

Unusual choice for a reaction for your normal genre, but I’ll watch any Ghost reaction! I’ve seen them 4 times, and they are fantastic live! I still think you need to hit some of the proggy instrumental stuff, but to me, you won’t go wrong with any of the tracks you choose.

Ghost is absolutely fantastic live! I was lucky enough to do the meet and greet and get a picture with Cardinal Copia.
They’re a perfect mix of hauntingly satanic, and goofy as hell.

First listen to Ghost. Pretty good proggy pop. The singer sounds a lot like Roine Stolt from Flower Kings/Transatlantic.
Edit: No wonder it sounds like Mr Stolt, it's a Swedish band, duh.
Great reaction. Ghost is full of contradictions. Having some Beach Boys influence isn't that out of line with a band that draws heavily from Swedish legends, ABBA. Cirice and Rats are great and they just released a single - Hunter's Moon which is part of the Halloween movie soundtrack.
