My grandfather was a Gillis of Judique... I pray that Cape Breton DOESN'T change too much but sadly, I know it will. God bless Cape Breton and may they always remember that it was largely because our ancestors were persecuted and despised Roman Catholics and that going to a place in the New World named Nova Scotia (in Latin translating to New Scotland) seemed quite comforting as many knew that the French there were also Catholics. Also, Brittany as mentioned in the video was a Catholic stronghold and adjacent to - just north of the famous Vendee region that was the home of Catholic resistance to the anti-Catholic Masonic-lead French Revolution! We as Cape Bretoners must remember our Gaelic and Catholic heritage!
The blood is strong, the heart is Highland and we in our dreams yet behold the Hebrides!
By the way, I've been to the Hebrides...still Gaelic-speaking and still Roman Catholic!

Thanks! My Dad's family, I am researching help found this area. My Mom's family is both Scottish and Irish, and I was looking for a connection, and this may be it! Also, trying to figure out things on a map, trying to pronounce certain words, or figuring out towns, after changing names several times, you made some of it flow together! Thanks again!
