I predict record setting quickest pause from start. And sooooo many mind blown moments. I have listened to this well over 50 times now. My 7y/o daughter said "Omar is my Angel of Music"...and then fell off the side of her bed. LOL meanwhile I'm obsessing over Eli's soaring E5s and Geoff's basement shaking lows. Never to leave out Laynes crazy mouth skills and Cesar's velvet tones. Those harmonies are gorgeous.

This is 100% how all of us reacted to this masterpiece when first seeing it.
VoicePlay + Medieval = EPIC!! I had goosebumps the second Geoff started, had the shivers all during the buildup and when Omar came in with Draconic my hair stood on end. So dang good!! If you want to know any about the game I suggest watching What It Do Dave because he explains the game very well and how it relates to their characters and their shouts. Fus ro dah! is like a power move in the game. It translates as Force, Balance, Push. If you look closely you can see the "dragon breath" coming from all their mouths. The language is one created especially for the game. Omar sounds like I think an elf should, and poor Cesar wore 20 pounds of real chain mail all day. Eli killed it with the lighting effects--he's getting so good at it. The set is from Layne's and Tony's studio and it's used in his Villain's Lair episodes. Geoff's low note is actually a C#1 instead of the B0 from HALO, but we get to hear that sucker all by itself in all its amazing glory!! And he HOLDS it! Then, Eli and those high E's on the other end. This is my new favorite and I really want to play Skyrim now. LOL
Geoff *is* Dragonborn. The bass drop when Omar started, and the other times, is actually Layne, not Geoff. Fun reaction as always, ladies. Keep on keepin' on!
I've watched it a million times and every single time both high and low notes give me the chills, I'd say this is in their top 3 on their best song covers. I hope you recover from this.
...I remember when I listened to this the first times...I have a 2.1 setup and it sounded real good....until everything started shaking from Jeff's voice lol

After you recover from this, go watch Malukah's other Skyrim and Elder Scrolls songs. Her songs impressed enough of the game's fans, resulting in a very large petition to have her music included in Elderscrollsonline. She's a bard you can hear in various taverns and inns in the game. She has several fantastic duets with Peter Hollins. Even 10 years after Skyrim released, she has new music for it. She makes singing in dovahzul sound easy.
Yup! Without a doubt this one will make you lose stuff you don't even have! The arpeggio that Geoff does in the middle section is phenomenal! And Eli? You aren’t the first reactor to stop in the first 5 seconds. And I always think to myself, just wait til you restart! I’m beginning to think Geoff does that on purpose just to see how many reactors he can break per video. This time he got a couple that normally fare better - like Mortius.

I have been a fan of Voiceplay for over 2 years now and Geoff's low notes, Eli's high notes, and Layne's beatboxing skills will always astound me. Never will get used to it. I have been _eagerly_ anticipating this reaction, and it lived up to every hope! From Geoff down in the depths to Omar sounding like a freaking tatterdemalion angel to Eli hitting them notes like Earl used to be hitting them, my lord. The technique he used at the beginning is called subharmonics. He starts on a subharmonics G#1 and then goes down to a subharmonics C#1.

I never played Skyrim or even really knew that it was even a game, but boy, was this song beautiful! Just amazing! Geoff took us to the basement then the sub-basement and Omar and Eli took us to Heavenly highs. You ladies had me cracking up. As always you girls are totally friendship goals!💜
I could listen to that opening a hundred times a day and never get enough. and I love hearing geoff play around with new vocal percussion techniques. its already wonderful to see someone give their bass range so much TLC as geoff has cultivated. even more so is to see someone continue to expand upon it with ever more nuanced vocal techniques like beatboxing .. its just so awesome. it revitalizes the term 'artist'
Btw love the fact that voiceplay goes full nerd and sings skyrim elvish and does a dragonborn shout (FOOSH RO TA!)
You know a performance has deeply affected you to the point you can't even process what you really want to say in terms of a reaction. I can seriously see this being sung behind the lines the night before battle either in the time of draconic or even now.... and it hit that hard. I can understand your reaction at the end being so subdued because you are still trying to process what you just heard and experienced. I was waiting for this reaction, among others and this one was definitely worth the wait

Since no one else has posted it, I'll say I counted 10 pauses of the video, plus I noticed a couple of editing jumps in your own reactions. Well done. :D
I play LotRO, not Skyrim, but I've read comments on at least 25 or so reactions to this to know that this cover is actually two songs from the game Skyrim - the opening theme (the shouts and the singing in the language of dragons) and "The Dragonborn Comes," which is a song performed in-game by bards in taverns. Plus they added in the dragon-shout of "Fus Ro Da!" which is a spell in the game which apparently knocks your opponent back. There's a couple of reactors who are big fans of the game and had the BEST reactions just because they both fangirled so hard - Mortius and What It Do Dave. If you ever watch other reactors you might enjoy those. Mortius literally squealed.

Just a quick note. Throat-singing utilizes false chords to produce sound, this is called subharmonic register and is a type of vocal fry mixed with true vocal fold phonation. Basically you mix your clean voice with a little bit of fry to create subharmonic harmonies where the loudest one is vibrating at exactly half the frequency, therefore an octave lower than the initial clean tone.

The language spoken in this other than English is Dovahzul (Basically Dragon language), from the Elder Scrolls series. It actually translates.
