Your enthusiasm and energy is exactly why my daughter and I wait after every voiceplay video for your reaction. You're our favourite by far because you show joy and appreciation for all they do to be their epic selves.
The sheer, geeky joy you displayed as the video progressed was exactly what I needed to see. Fantastic reaction to an utterly epic piece of music. These guys keep going way beyond expectations; it's so great.
When they first showed this on their patreon, my first thought was "Well, now Geoff gets a chance to prove *how* he became a dragon-slayer like Dave says" and it makes me happy it was your first thought as well 🤣
For the sole reason of being a nerd, Unrelenting Force is just what the game calls the shout. In dragontounge, Fus Ro Dah translates to Force, Balance, Push. The language of dragons in the Elder Scrolls is one of the first tongues to be created, and it was spoken by the first creatures to ever be created by the Aedra (Good Gods), thusly meaning that their words literally brought forth what they meant. The game even has a loading screen that says that two dragons "fighting" are really just two dragons locked in a deadly verbal debate.
In the comments of the vid someone commented that Geoff is an Imperial Barbarian, Cesar a Dunmer (dark elf) Battlemage, Omar a Bosmer (wood elf) Archer, Eli a Breton Necromancer and Layne a Nord Jarl. And yup, they definitely fit these descriptions 😆

VoicePlay never do things by halves. Geoff's arrangements just get more and more complex as his voice gets lower. I've read a little about the game since hearing this but know very little though it's said to be beautifullly done. However, as you say, it's not necessary to know the game to appreciate the brilliance of this performance. Stunning. Gives me chills every time.
I was telling to myself, there's gotta be at least one Skyrim fan among the usual reactors to Voiceplay that is going to geek out as much as I did about this. Glad to find out you're that guy and you're as delighted as I was at this! Best. Reaction. Ever.
I was unfamiliar with Skyrim before they filmed this. I’ve been learning more since then. I could have listened to you talk about this twice as long as you did. Don’t hold back when you have something to say.
You're right, I have 0 understanding of Skyrim, but this song is *incredible* and I adore it beyond measure. How much you enjoyed it and the game facts you discussed were really fun to watch!
The power of their voices, their raw talent, the epicness of every arrangement they make! That's the reason we love them! And we love you for your honest and funny reactions to them! ♥️
I was waiting for your reaction. It was mentioned on Patreon when this first came out that you'd really get into it. VoicePlay just doesn't do small! Geoff has been killing it with his arrangements and all these guys literally "slayed" it. You know they go all in when Cesar is wearing a 20 pound mail shirt and real gauntlets! I got goosebumps when Geoff came in with his dragon breath (not his lowest note but we got to hear it alone in all its glory), then got chills with the build up and when Omar came in with Draconic my hair stood on end. A lot of us fans didn't know much about the game, but the music is outstanding. Having raised a boy I at least know the theme music of a lot of these and I remember Fus ro dah!
Nobody does justice to a song like Voice Play does. Everything about their performances is amazing. Voice Play is my favorite acapella group out of all of them. I love your reactions.
Thank you for the in-depth reaction. It’s my favorite so far. I don’t do games but I do read quite a bit of fantasy. I’m a huge Tolkien nerd. My son and I have watched a lot of fantasy movies so I kinda had the feel for it. But your descriptions of the game and what all the different things meant put everything into context and it really increases my appreciation for the production. I really didn’t think that could happen because this is freaking amazing! When you paused right after that first choral section and said “oh I hope they do the shouts I hope they do the shouts” I just had to laugh thinking if you had just waited just a few seconds. Your explanation of FUS RO DAH helped a lot. I knew what the translation was but I didn’t understand the significance and it’s just really really adds to the piece. I have probably watched and or listened to this as well )as the karaoke track which is amazing on it’s own) at least 100 times. Now I’m going to go watch your reaction over and over again because it’s such a pleasure to see someone derives such joy from the piece.
Once you play Skyrim, it never leaves your soul, Dave. Wonderful reaction! I felt every bit of your excitement. It took me back there in a flash of memories. :)
As a fellow Elder Scrolls/Skyrim fan myself, Dave, I'm not sure which was more epic - this song, or your reaction and breakdown to it! I'm not ashamed to say, I geeked out over the same things you did. And I would TOTALLY install a mod that had Voiceplay singing in all the taverns (I wouldn't even mind them doing covers of the irritatingly overplayed 'Red Diamonds' and 'Sway As We Kiss' tavern songs from the Elder Scrolls Online game. I reckon they could even make those two rock!)
I was so looking forward to you checking out this new Voiceplay piece, and you didn't disappoint. I know very little about Skyrim, so I also appreciate the details you shared about the game itself. Love your honest reactions and excitement in your reviews! So glad to follow your channel!
I've watched a bunch of reactions (after watching it first myself) and I love all of them but yours was especially great for giving us all the background info of the game. Thanks so much for explaining everything especially the shout at the end. It really makes it even more special. Also if there were a voiceplay bard group I would totally spend all my time in the game listening to them.
Awesome reaction! The song is fire, and special thanks for talking about the game. I did not know this game and you helped me understand more this masterpiece.
I geeked out too you werent the only one. When I saw this pop up yesterday I was so quick to watching and I think I scared everyone in my house with how loud I was yelling at how excited this song made me. Its one of there bests hands down. I hope they do more video game songs because this was amazing.
Thank you, Dave for your great reaction but also for your explanation of what was happening in this epic video. Not being a gamer, alot of the nuances went right over my head. Now with a better understanding I can really enjoy it as I watch another 10, uh, maybe 50 more times.
I knew your reaction was going to be a joy to watch when I saw Voiceplay's tease for this video, and you did NOT disappoint. Oh, no. Heh. But I was just a bit surprised that you did not point out the literal dragon breath they were exhaling in the video. Good job catching us non-players up with all the Skyrim nuances, thanks.
I'm one of those Voice Play fans who had no idea what Skyrim was (had never even heard of it before), had never heard this music before. But it didn't detract from how wonderful this was and how great this music is and how well Voice Play performs it. I love this.
What a great reaction! I don't know the game but like you said, I can sure appreciate the music! Your explanations of how this relates to the game really helped!
I learned more about Skyrim than I never needed to know. The excitement and joy on your face was worth the watch. Kinda like watching a child on Christmas morning opening their gifts. 😁🎁🎄🎁😁
Great reaction, thanks so much for going into the detail. You're the first to really go through it like that. I've listened well over a dozen times, but I don't know Skyrim, didn't even know it was a game until I saw the comments yesterday. Love it anyway, it's gorgeous - but it's lovely to have some background. Thanks again!

I understand. Really, I do. To see someone, or a group of someones, who you respect pay homage to something you love so much... It's an amazing feeling, isn't it? I have only ever played Marrowind in this series of games, so I'm not what one would call a super fan of the franchise. I know just enough to get some of the references they're making, and enough to know just how much this is going to mean for those who DO play, who ARE fans. My experience with this lies in other areas, but I would guess the feeling is the same. And, I'm glad you got to experience it. Great video, loved the reaction.
I vave seen as many reactions on that cover and yours is by far the most honest, the most entertaining, the most educative on Skyrim and how Voiceplay implements elements of the game. I enjoy your reaction so much I lost count how many times I watched it! Thank you!!!
Take all the time you want, loved the reaction! We're right there with you. While I play many games, this wasn't one. It is now. Loving it! I absolutely love seeing gamers react to this.
"Sorry to take up too much of your time." Dave, that's what we're here for! Love that you know the history of the dragon language. I did not know that part. This is why I listen to reactions. Pretty much every reactor I watch brings something new and different to the table. Almost holding my breath here waiting for the moment you hear them say Fus roh dah! And the expression on your face when you heard it, and the fact that you had to stop, and clean your hands ROFL! Everything I wanted and more! I'm almost in tears watching how much you're enjoying this song.
I know zero about Skyrim (other than my husband loves the game). When I first watched this video, I loved the music. But after watching your reaction, I love it even more. Please rest assured, your fans truly enjoyed watching you "geek out." Fantastic!
Hey Dave, I always enjoy your reactions. And this one was no exception. Your delight over what they were doing is just so infectious - I end up watching with a big smile on my face the whole time. And then knowing what's coming, and hearing you say "oh I hope they do the chanting" that is typical of the game, all I could think was "just hang on and keep listening man. You're going to love this!"
Your reaction was great as usual. It was awesome to hear someone who’s familiar with the game react to the song. Really enjoyed the background you added. It was so much fun to see you soooo excited. 😊
When I saw this song, I immidiately sent it to my son. I have no idea if he saw it. I knew a bit about it because my son plays it and he tells me everything about the games he plays whether I can keep up with it or not. I just enjoy the fact that he talks with me at length at all. What I was desperately missing was the context I didn't know. I so loved the geek in you and that you told me about all the details I wanted to know. I am so excited that this popped up and I had the time to see your reaction. I have been sick with a spring cold and you gave me the cheer I needed. Thank you so much! ❤❤
I've just discovered the world of reactors. You, sir, are the best. I must have watched this one a dozen times already, because your joy makes me happy.
I absolutely love your reaction! I was so excited by it I had to start up a new playthrough of Skyrim. Of course the fact that I'm missing one achievement helped.... But I'm like you, I would absolutely love a mod with VoicePlay bards!
I had been avoiding this video because I didn’t know anything about Skyrim. Your reaction was the first one I watched & your explanations & the pure joy throughout, made me love this.
Thank you very much for this amazing reaction!!! Thank you for taking the time to explain the game so we can really appreciate all the work behind this cover. This has been, by far, the best reaction to this song that I have seen.
The lower, powerful vocals that are in the theme song aren’t here because if you have seen the behind the scenes, they had 30 men in the background throat singing and THEN they tripled the effect. So they effectively had 90 men making that unmistakable sound so you can’t really expect 5 men singing A cappella to replicate. Other than that, it was an amazing cover and a solid reaction!
Oh. And btw. I and several other people direct some other reactors to you here because of your knowledge and enthusiasm of the game. Because I've never played I knew nothing about it until I watched you. Now I can either full others in or direct them here. Thank You for that.
Okay. Two things. First, the video is, of course, brilliant. Great singing and voice acting, beautiful special effect, perfect harmonies. And, secondly: thank you, thank you, thank you. You're not the first person I've seen doing a reaction to this. You ARE, however, the first person who knew what the heck was going on, what the heck they were talking about with their reaction, and how many elements of the game (like the dragon shout) that were incorporated into the song and video. Great song, great video, great reaction.
Your reaction to this video was wonderfully entertaining and informative and made my afternoon, Dave! You were right on the mark about VoicePlay fans who aren't gamers and know very little about Skyrim. I was both enthralled and enchanted by their video and everything about it. Thanks for your reaction!
I absolutely LOVED seeing you geek out on this video! You looked so genuinely overwhelmed by it! Now, I'm not saying your other reactions aren't genuine, but this was as close to a perfect emotional reaction as I've seen from you. Keep 'em coming!
I enjoy watching your videos, it feels like we're hanging out. Man, you're awesome. Everytime you paused, I was on the verge of tears cause of how well they did this song true justice. Peace my friend much love keep doin it Dave!
Thanx for another great reaction! Never played Skyrim myself, but I just LOVE this❤️ I was shocked by that first note, but then Geoff went even lower, slaying the 🐉
I’m a 53 year old woman who’s never played Skyrim. But I LOVE Voiceplay and I’ve been a subscriber of yours for almost 2 years!! Your reaction to this was EPIC!!! (I’m an old school RPG fan-Zelda, Grandia I&II, Wild Arms 1, 2 & 3, Lunar, Breath of Fire I, II & III and Suikoden I, II, III & IV as well as Mission Thunderbolt for Mac!!) Gamers Unite!!!!!
You nerding out to this just makes me so freaking happy. As an Elder Scrolls fan since I first played Morrowind on my Xbox in high school, nothing gets me psyched like some Elder Scrolls music. Even better it's voice play doing it.
I appreciate you geeking out over this. I've hear of the game but never played it. So to get the explanation of a song that is absolutely beautiful, I sincerely appreciate it
Thank You. For being such a Skyrim fan and sharing that passion for the game. Voiceplay does it again. I was told Geoff is an Imperial Barbarian, Cesar a Dunmer (dark elf) Battlemage, Omar a Bosmer (wood elf) Archer, Eli a Breton Necromancer, and Layne a Nord Jarl
This is what I needed! I’ve been looking for an actual Skyrim and music nerd to react to this song. Skyrim is my single favorite game of all time and the music is so incredibly iconic
I am a huge fan of VoicePlay and knew nothing about this game, but after watching this I want to learn. Love the idea that their voices hold the force. Have to share that I love how into the song you were. Music truly transcends no matter what genre. Sincerely LOVED watching this with you. Keep it up.
When I saw this cover I recognized why my son loves this game and of course I had to show him what VoicePlay did with this song. They sang in the language and still had the effect... If that isn't love and dedication to what they do, I don't know what is. They killed it. 🙌❤❤❤❤❤
This was an outstanding reaction! I am one of the voiceplay fans that had never heard the word Skyrim before this video was released, so your "geekness" was actually greatly appreciated ... what was a great performance I can now see is also an incredible (and accurate) tribute to what is obviously a fairly popular game. Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
First video of yours I've come across and what a delight it was! Don't apologize for "taking up our time." We are loving it- loving the nerd spirit- and loving the music with you. *Subscribed*
Geek away! I have to tell you that you have THE best reaction to this video. The way you set the narrative and background to the game adds 100% to the enjoyment. I have taken more than knowledge of the setting away from this, but I have a greater an appreciation of how well VP creates the setting and the mood to flavor this song with all the right herbs and spices. Chillingly delicious!
Yours is the best reaction I have seen so far....You were able to give us Non-Skyrim players an insight to the reasoning behind some of the things thay VP did in the song....Thank you so much for your reaction...
The original video brought so much joy to my heart but your reaction almost brought more. Thank you for geeking out with us over this. Amazing song, best game, incredible review! ♥
Been a while,..........but i LOVE your reaction Dave,....it is always nice to see reactors, as you said...."Geek out'....VoicePlay's 'attention to detail' in ALL things is exquisite.....>^^
1299.3 hours on Steam, myself XD I 100% feel you on the replayability side of it. Though, to be fair, that's all since the release. Yeah, I had the game from day 1, and I STILL remember all of the texture errors during the opening scene as you are escaping through the keep XD I was thrilled to see they did this one. It was amazing.

I loved your reaction to this song. It's my favorite version, even over Malukah's and that is saying something!! My favorite part is when they Shout "Fus Ro Dah!" and the "Dah" part is where Eli carries that Word straight into the rest of the song. I love how it escalates. I vave seen as many reactions on that cover and yours is by far the most honest, the most entertaining, the most educative on Skyrim and how Voiceplay implements elements of the game. I enjoy your reaction so much I lost count how many times I watched it! Thank you!!!
Dave, your reaction was priceless...
Fus Ro Dah!!!
Legit my favorite reaction you have done! My absolute favorite part is your reaction to the Fus Ro Dah! Keep making great reaction vids!
I know zero about Skyrim (other than my husband loves the game). When I first watched this video, I loved the music. But after watching your reaction, I love it even more. Please rest assured, your fans truly enjoyed watching you "geek out." Fantastic!
I love when your longer videos cause I know that means you're gonna get really passionate and deep into stuff and it's awesome 😊
Thank you for your reaction and the background information. Now I can enjoy this incredible song even more.
Great song and an amazing job by Voiceplay.
Eli did the special effects on this it's a great cover!!
I have found someone that loves voiceplay and Skyrim as much as I do. Subscribed, and I welcome you as a brother. Thanks for the video!
Seeing your joy in this is worth it. I am clueless on Skyrim, but I love the way you explained this to us.
Pure joy. Their song, and your reaction.
Thank you very much for this amazing reaction!!! Thank you for taking the time to explain the game so we can really appreciate all the work behind this cover. This has been, by far, the best reaction to this song that I have seen.
This is BY FAR the best reaction I've saw for this song. I knew nothing about skyrim before this and you sir took me on a journey just like they did.
I was exactly like you when the ”Fuss-Ro-Dah” came out!
Oh. And btw. I and several other people direct some other reactors to you here because of your knowledge and enthusiasm of the game.
Because I've never played I knew nothing about it until I watched you. Now I can either full others in or direct them here.
Thank You for that.
Loved your reaction to this epic masterpiece!! They are so talented and I'm really enjoying binge watching their videos 💕
The pure joy coming from you spoke to my soul! Skyrim is one of my all time favorites, and watching you geek out over it made me giddy lol
What an outstanding reaction. Your joy is amazing!
Okay.
I love seeing how much hes enjoying the song and geeking out about the game, it makes the reaction so much better
Thanks! Haven’t played the game, but your excellent knowledge explained things and made the great song even more enjoyable ❤
Thank you so much!
I geeked out too bruh and had pretty much the same reaction to the fus ro dah
I just watched this for a second time. I think this is your best VP reaction. It is golden! It is so much better because you know the context.
I love your reactions. I’m always thrilled when I see your notifications especially when you react to Voiceplay and Home Free. 😊
Your pure delight and geeking out over this really brightened my day. Thank you.
Just wanted to say I've watched a few reactions to this, and yours is still by far my favorite! I'm back watching it again!
I'm here too. Best cover I've ever heard of this, with the best person reacting to it. I'm so glad I found your channel
Also, I had the same reaction to the foos-ro-dah
Yours is the best reaction I have seen so far....You were able to give us Non-Skyrim players an insight to the reasoning behind some of the things thay VP did in the song....Thank you so much for your reaction...
The original video brought so much joy to my heart but your reaction almost brought more. Thank you for geeking out with us over this. Amazing song, best game, incredible review! ♥
Been a while,..........but i LOVE your reaction Dave,....it is always nice to see reactors, as you said...."Geek out'....VoicePlay's 'attention to detail' in ALL things is exquisite.....>^^
I was just waiting for your reaction to the FUS - RO - DAH! XD I love that they included it in the song.
It was amazing.
man that shout really hit you like it would in game
it makes me so happy seeing someone who knows skyrim reacting to this, it makes it so much more special
I loved your reaction to this song. It's my favorite version, even over Malukah's and that is saying something!! My favorite part is when they Shout "Fus Ro Dah!" and the "Dah" part is where Eli carries that Word straight into the rest of the song. I love how it escalates. Anyway, I enjoyed your reaction SO much!!! Never apologize for being a nerd! We nerds ROCK 😁
