dude I LITERALLY just found this out about a week ago lol. I found a copy on eBay & have seriously been debating getting in but then I would have to get an HD DVD player. Do you know if HD DVDs will play on region free players? or no?
Don't Tell is a great one, I own the DVD as well. It was put out and I think is owned by HBO and a lot of the old stuff put out by HBO has yet to make it to blu or 4k. I think Warner Discovery may own that stuff? Also I've heard talk there's potential issues with the music soundtrack rights that the studio doesn't want to pay royalties on to reissue the film on blu ray.
Dukes of Hazard w/ Jessica Simpson has an HDDvD release which is the equivalent to Bluray just picked 1 up the other day for cheap. Love Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead but when that movie came out it completely missed the mark and was a flop. Was meant to be marketed as a 90s Devil Wear Prada. Was a movie on the Fashion industry in the 90s which no one ever put together. Can snag a bootleg bluray on ebay of it if you want to drop $60 for a bootleg

I too have a very large collection of DVD's. For the most part many of then are just fine and really don't need an upgrade to Blu-ray or even a 4k. Just no reason for that. With that said the DVD version of Sic days Seven nights, it was a very well shot, excellent story, j ust fine on DVD but I would love to see it on Blu ray especially if some addition material is added. Part of reason to own media and not stream. Thanks for your content.

Yeh I’m positive on those, I was actually just looking for Next Friday about a month ago and was dumbfounded that it was nowhere to be found. I asked one of my movie plugs if they can get it and there distributor verified that the blu ray is long out of print. Friday after next as well. There are listings on amazon for them but even those are incredibly hard to find. I did come across Friday after next blu on amazon used but was after next Friday so blew it off. It vanished a few days later. There is a uk blu of Next Friday I found on eBay uk but I hate importing unless it’s directly From a distributor so just settled for the DVD……With 7 days it got a Very limited blu release and then went oop. I’ve got the full blu ray that I downloaded off the net so no it exists or existed. I have a feeling that will be reissued or get a 4k at some point. But the Friday films I think there is some kind of copy right nonsense going on

Last boy scout was one of my favourite dvds need to re buy
yea man! if this ever comes to 4K, it's a day one buy for me
Weekend At Bernie's II and The Trigger Effect need a Blu Ray.
Scream factory has a Red Sonja remastered bluray release this summer
yea I heard, im stoked & also curious why no 4k since Studio Canal has a 4K overseas.
The Hitcher has a BluRay. I just ordered from Walmart. Umbrella Entertainment released it.
Umbrella has the original 1986 blu-ray of the hitcher, not the 2007 remake (that I am aware of).
But yea a few of these titles I actually found on blu-ray in the foreign market. I just got the Hitcher recently from a thrift store, it was the Canadian release. Last Boy Scout I just got the UK release, & A Good Year I just got the German release lol
I have the hitcher 07 on blu ray
@@JeffDuperron I just found a copy a few weeks ago. a Canada copy
Rose red is one of my favorites ever
my 2nd favorite Stephen King movie. For a "made for TV" movie, it scared me as a kid lol
Just looked at JB HI-FI and they have Red Sonja available on both Blu Ray and 4K
It's normal the other way around here in Australia we get a DVD release and you guys in the US get the Blu Ray & 4K release
that's crazy lol yea I discovered half of these movies are all available on blu-ray outside the US. Ive been importing them like crazy from Germany lol.
I know Red Sonja has a 4k overseas but I've seen side by side comparisons & it looks so weird, the colors are off. We are getting a new Red Sonja remake movie they year so I'm hoping that means a new 4K soon. A new Blu-ray just got announced too I believe
Another movie to add is - "Men in White" (1988) - it's not on bluray/dvd, it's like the world wants us to forget it
lol I've never even heard of that movie, just looked it up, its a TV movie. there are so many great made for TV movies we need on Blu-Ray
Stakeout is not on blu ray as far as I'm aware, the second one is for some reason
dude I see Another Stakeout on blu-ray at thiftstores all the time & its always $2.99 lol I can never find the 1st 1. makes so much sense now
@@thelastmoviestanding Crazy mate, stakeout is a classic, keep up the good work 👍
A Good Year is a great movie. The soundtrack is fantastic as well. I got the Blu-ray from Germany but it doesn’t look remarkably better than the dvd. I’m still happy to have it tho. Return to Me is on the same level as this. Great movie with a great soundtrack with no Blu-ray 😢
oh i completely disagree lol I just got the blu-ray of A Good Year from Germany about 2 weeks ago & love the transfer, personally haha. I think it's way better than the DVD. I actually talk about it in my next video about imported blu-rays. Ive been importing a lot from Germany lately
@@thelastmoviestanding ok-I popped it into my 4k player. I stand corrected. Looks way better than in my region free Blu-ray player. IM SO HAPPY
@@sherrywaters3775 that's great to hear! It worked region free on my playstation 5 so I haven't watched it on my region free player yet. I'll have to put it in & see if I see a difference.
Dukes of Hazzard got a HD-DVD version doesn't make since it didn't get put on a bluray seeing as it won the format war.
dude I LITERALLY just found this out about a week ago lol. I found a copy on eBay & have seriously been debating getting in but then I would have to get an HD DVD player. Do you know if HD DVDs will play on region free players? or no?
Get a Super Multi player. They play HD-DVD, Blu-ray, DVD, ect
They have a remake of Don't Tell coming out soon... ZERO interest in it hahaha, but hopefully we will get a blu for it to promote it lol
How come The Hours never had a blu-ray treatment in the US? It was like a big Oscar player in its year… also the Sissy Spacek movie In The Bedroom
I was actually looking for HDDVD at 1 point & realized I didn't want to invest in an HDDVD player just for 1 movie haha, I recently got the bootleg for like $30 & the quality is GREAT!!! plus for some reason my DVD stopped working in my modern players, it's so weird. It only works in my older 10+ year old DVD player. Wouldn't play in my PS4, or PS5. but the bootleg is amazing. & if it ever gets a proper blu-ray release, I will jump on that & get rid of the bootleg.
@@thelastmoviestanding wait you need a separate player for HD DVDs? I have a bunch and they play fine on my bluray player I’ve never had a problem, that is weird 🤔. Ps5 is great for 4K discs but I kept my Ps3 because that has the widest range of video formats that it can play if you have one laying around
@@Beetleejuicee oh really? I just always figured you needed a special player for it. even when I looked on TH-cam they all have HDDVD players. I might have to buy 1 & see lol they are really cheap here haha
Last boy scout is available on blu ray it's been out for like 12 years here in the UK
Yea I discovered that after this video lol I actually discovered more than half of these are available on BR in Germany 🤦♂
We have Last Boy Scout here too on BR but it's in a double pack with Last Man Standing , bought that, then discovered it had a UK solo BR, so I literally just about that too about a week ago lol
Have owned The Hitcher and The Dukes of Hazzard on HD DVD for many years now. Good times.
I just got the Hitcher import from Canda on Blu-Ray & I ALMOST got the Dukes of Hazard HD-DVD but I don't have an HD DVD player & didn't wanna go through that hassle so im just going to wait. praying Dukes get a Blu release soon
So many good films are only on dvd I still collect VHS for that same reason. 6 days 7 nights I have on VHS and fun but I didn’t upgrade. Studio Canal did the Red Sonja 4k easy import through Amazon. I always heard Arnold was tricked into the movie he was supposed to do a small scene and next thing he was in the whole movie. Captain Ron is so good I hope we get a 4k soon. Not sure if we will get any of the sequels unless a box set gets released or a boutique label does it.
I have Six Days Seven Nights on VHS too lol I have a whole VHS video coming out soon i'm working on.
Yea I was going to get the Red Sonja 4k import but heard the color timing was way off & I know there is a new movie coming out soon so Im waiting to see if a 4K comes out. I know a new Blu-Ray just got announced for Red Sonja.
Caption Ron is my shit!! needs a Blu, praying for a 4K
@@thelastmoviestanding looking forward to it. Hit me up if you ever want to collab about VHS collections it seems a younger generation is finding VHS like they did with Vinyl.
@@80sMadeConsumer im down!
Thanks for your content.
completely agree! Six Days Seven Nights is 1 of my all time favorites. I own the DVD but still watch on VHS every now & then cause I just love the movie. Its got an HD version on streaming which looks really good too but I cut all streaming ties (minus Amazon) lol
I have Dukes of Hazard on HD-DVD
the dukes of hazzard has a HD DVD release
I discovered that after I made this, seriously considered grabbing the HD DVD on eBay, but I don't have a way to play it lol
I do love this news, and as a collector of physical media I don't buy any DVD's from Walmart as they edit their films, yes they have a great selection and are going whole Hogg into physical media but no way will I get them there.
got the dukes on HD-DVD!
I thought about getting it on HD DVD, but couldn't justify it cause I don't have a player for it lol
Hitcher is on bluray it's imported region free same for the first one it umbrella and another company
Yea I discovered that after I made this & found the Canadian import for $15 lol
@@thelastmoviestanding better late then never 😂
@@media-collectables78 bro it was so hard to find & expensive online. I found it at a 2nd hand store in town & grabbed it right away
fortunately, the 4k has revived movie upscaling lately A lot of old flicks going to be re-released. I just watched the last Boy Scout great movie. I like the 90's movies also. I have to admit there are a couple of your movie selections I have not seen.
The Last Boy Scout is soooooo good! Yea 90s movies are my favorite, im probably bias cause that's the era I grew up in.
A lot of these I have found on Blu-Ray in other countries, & yea 4K upscaling now is pretty insane.
Not sure if it was mentioned. But My Fellow Americans. Hilarious movie.
Love that hitcher remake!
I got it on HD-DVD from the UK and now on blu ray from Germany… but you can get it also in Canada via Aliance and in most countries in europe…
I also prefer it over the original…
Red Sonja has a great new 4k via studiocanal in europe…
I found the Canadian blu-ray of The Hitcher remake at a thrift store a few weeks ago for only $15 & grabbed it! lol is crazy over priced on eBay. I'm glad im not alone in liking it over the OG lol I thought I was alone.
Yea I know about Red Sonja but have seen video clips of the 4k on TH-cam & the colors look really bad. I think a new Blu-Ray just got announced here in the US coming soon. I may just get that.
Umbrella Entertainment is releasing their The Hitcher bluray package and it's region free. And I've seen it's coming out on 4k this year. Whether it contains a bluray, idk.

One that bugs the living hell outta me is Daddy Day Care. For some stupid reason, the sequel has a bluray but when it comes to the OG, its DVD Only, so like wtf. 😅
what!? lol I didn't know that hahaha. Stakeout is like that too, Another Stakeout is on blu but the 1st is not
@thelastmoviestanding yeah, it's dumb. I didn't know about Stakeout either so I guess we taught each other something! 😄 anyways, hopefully one day soon someone will get wise and put Daddy Day Care on BR.
Friday after next got a blu but it’s out of print, same with 6 days 7 nights
really? are you sure they're not just bootlegs?
Yeh I’m positive on those, I was actually just looking for Next Friday about a month ago and was dumbfounded that it was nowhere to be found. I asked one of my movie plugs if they can get it and there distributor verified that the blu ray is long out of print. Friday after next as well. There are listings on amazon for them but even those are incredibly hard to find. I did come across Friday after next blu on amazon used but was after next Friday so blew it off. It vanished a few days later. There is a uk blu of Next Friday I found on eBay uk but I hate importing unless it’s directly
From a distributor so just settled for the DVD……With 7 days it got a
Very limited blu release and then went oop. I’ve got the full blu ray that I downloaded off the net so no it exists or existed. I have a feeling that will be reissued or get a 4k at some point. But the Friday films I think there is some kind of copy right nonsense going on
i got the double feature of Last Boy Scout + Last Man Standing… looks fine to me and sounds fine to me… way better than DVD
but i think a 4k for last boy scout is not unlikely…
ended up getting that too. I hade combo packs though with 2 different titles haha (small pet peeve of mine) I may just import Last Boy Scout from the UK as a stand alone 1 of these days, it's pretty cheap. Last Man Standing has its own bluray form Shout so the price needs to come down lol
Based on the entire filmographies of the Scott brothers, I believe Tony's movies are the more enjoyable and creative. Still have tons of trouble with Domino, though.
Tony Scott is my favorite director. Deja Vu is the 1 I have trouble enjoying though lol

The only way to physically own Dukes of Hazzard in HD is on HD DVD, unfortunately it's a Warner released and they suffer really badly with disc rot.
yea I saw that, I legit considered getting it on HD DVD but didn't want to have to invest in a player just for 1 movie lol
The Last Boy Scout does have a Blu-ray but it's shitty, so a 4K upgrade would be amazing.
ye I found half of these did have blurays after I made this, mostly all from Germany or other countries. I got Last Boy Scout & A Good Year on blu-ray. Last Boy Scout definitely needs a 4k though!
Michael Bay was a music video director as well. I also prefer the remake to the original Hitcher.
Need powder on bluray and hider in the house on atleast dvd I think every movie should get a bluray not all need a 4k
agree! I think Blu-Ray is a perfect format, or pretty near. 4K I love but has a bunch of hit & misses & I always feel im watching a 4K to make sure its "perfect", which shouldn't be a reason to watch a movie
