Resident Evil as an entire series made us realize how important life, how sacred and even the meaning of it all in many ways. I'd argue it's about becoming something, unique in it's own way and making progress as one or many attempt to survive others' ignorance of evil and secrecy, to never give up what is truly important and continue on into the unknown as those truths are uncovered.

Also, 4 and 5 have the same controls as the old games, it's just the camera that's changed is all in the sense of that kind of gameplay.
People may have different thoughts on when the RE series went to shit, I personally think RE 4 was pretty good and the 5th and 6th ones were the ones that killed it, Revelations took a HUGE step in resuscitating the RE series back to it's original glory but it still has A LOT of work to do. I think we can all agree that Code Veronica was the last true resident evil game that kicked ass!
What about the Re 1 remake for the gamecube? I think it was the best and scariest of the series, As well as the second scariest game of all time, second only to Slender the eight pages.
Brendan you're right, unfourtanatly for me I was never able to play the remake because I never had a GameCube that's why I'm really excited for it to be remastered for the PS4, the REmake and Code Veronica were the last great ones

If CVX’s title was Resident Evil 3, I feel like this game would be more commonly seen as one of the best Resident Evils. But because it’s not, it’s forgotten and “tOo HaRd aNd CoNfuSiNg” I guess
I don't understand why a lot of people overlook this game, just because it doesn't have freakin' number on the title?!!! in my book top 3 resident evils are 3.Resident evil 2, 2. Resident evil 3, 1. Resident evil code veronica. Number 4 would be outbreak, it does so many things I love about RE well... ah why does capcom refuse to acknowledge the existence of the best resident evil games.
It's all in the game play style. Ever wonder why the first and second Resident Evils were so scary when they first came out? They not only had a particular game style that made them hard to judge what was coming around the next corner, the enemies were new and frightening to the players, and the game actually used a lot of suspense and Science fiction themed mystery to add to the terrors that you were fighting against. The games have changed into too much action to be truly scary anymore.
yeah, the plagas, in a series known for zombies let's also look at the lack of deadly puzzles that both 4 & 5 had even if 5 had more story similarities to the series than 4, both of them played and progressed more like each other than like the previous RE games and 4 and 5 also had one boss in common
Probably because the whole staff that made this was Capcom’s triple A staff in Japan which happened to be huge anime fans and thus why this game had such a big anime influence in it’s music and story which makes it different from the og trilogy which is more western.
still, I'm talking about more than just story for me, a sequel also indicates that it plays similarly to the previous game like how the RE games before 4 had the same controls, camera angles, and they all had difficult and deadly puzzles 4 was more like the series than 5 in that regard, since 4 had plenty of one-hit death possibilities, which almost all of the RE games do
I know. It used to be that it got scarier with each game. Veronica wasn't as scary as 3, but it still gave shivers. The bandersnatch popping up made me realize how fast I could run.
