Cruise Day 2: Nassau Bahamas Day @ Atlantis | Carnival Freedom | Aquaventure Waterpark

Have you ever considered taking a Cruise? First time cruising can be quite a challenge, but we are here to help you plan out the perfect @Carnival Cruise!
In this video, we sailed on the Carnival Freedom to our first port of call- Nassau, Bahamas. The Bahamas are located just off the shore of Florida and are a very popular destination on Caribbean cruises.
Now let’s get to the main attraction- Atlantis Paradise Island Resort. We took a taxi from the cruise port directly to @AtlantisBahamasOfficial. There was an option to purchase Atlantis as an excursion through the Cruise ship directly, however we opted to purchase a day pass through Atlantis Directly.
Once at the resort we checked in and decided to explore the main lobby. It was breathtaking! The lobby featured extensive murals and water fountains. On the lower level there was access to the Dig. The Dig is the archeological site of the lost city of Atlantis. A city fabled to have been built out of love. This is a remnant of a long-lost 11,000-year-old continent, and highly advanced civilization. What remains now is a glimpse of life in the fabled city of Atlantis.
Now we enter the diving bell room, Atlantian divers used these suits and technology to descend to the darkest depths of the ocean. A small glance into life of this mysterious utopian kingdom. Famed for having been the exhibit of all worldly pleasures in the world, this city is as enigmatic as it is inviting.
According to mythological accounts, the city of Atlantis fell due to anger and a night of fire and earthquakes led to the city being drowned.
Next we decided to check out the beach. The seas were rough, so during our trip, the beach was not open for swimming. It was so hot out so we decided to grab a refreshing drink out of a pineapple.
Aquaventure is a Waterpark within the resort. It is made up of pools, slides, splash pads and a rapid river. The Leap of faith waterslide goes through a Mayan ruin and through a tank of nurse sharks. We loved the tube slide that went through the predator tanks. One of the coolest features of the Waterpark!
Overall, we had a fabulous time at Atlantis!! Stay tuned for videos from the rest of our trip!

Great Video! Atlantis looks so awesome! It sounds like it's definitely worth the price for the day pass. There doesn't even look like it's too busy there! To me, that makes it totally worth it! Thanks for sharing!

Hi .i am going there this Saturday. I am from Canada going on a cruise with carnival Liberty.i do love your videos. I have a couple of questions.
1 do you take your passport with you on the port .
2 I heard stories. In your opinion is it safe regarding some form of crime.
3 is the straw market expensive and is it far .I do have a issue with my knees. I am looking forward to the lazy rivers.
Is there alot of stairs .

I’m so excited to hear you are going on the Liberty! Personally I like to take my passport on the islands with me. I wear a hip pack/Fannie pack and keep it on me at all times (except the rented locker at the Waterpark).
Unfortunately Nassau in my opinion is not the safest. On this trip we went from the port directly to our taxi and to Atlantis and felt very comfortable.
The straw market is very close to the ship, However, I personally cannot recommend going there. Over the years it has become more unsafe, and my personal experience was not a good one. I do however recommend talking to the Shopping guide on the ship and asking them where they recommend you shop for local straw goods. They usually have some great ideas and will recommend a safe option. Their desk is usually located on deck 5 the promenade deck across from the casino.
Atlantis did have a lot of stairs for the slides. I am not sure if they offered alternative entrances for mobility. If you are looking for another option, maybe y consider checking out the Margaritaville Resort. My parents went there while we were at Atlantis and said it was also amazing! I don’t have a video on that one just yet. But it’s newer and closer to the ship, they also have a relaxing lazy river.

Great video! How long did the check in process take? And do the cabs drop you off near the spot cruisers pick up their day pass?
For us the check in process only took minutes, and the taxi dropped us right at the door. Thank you for watching 😎

Your video was great! How long did you guys have there? We are coming on a cruise and its only there from 11-7. I am really hoping that we have enough time in there to see things and go down a fair amount of slides. This is my dream place to go in life. I just watched your MSC Meraviglia video and that brought me to this video. But that's the ship that we are taking when we go in November.
Thank you! We were there from 10 am to 5pm. At that time the Waterpark did close at 5pm… but they would allow you to stay at the resort as long as you like. We left at 5 because we like to get back to the ship well before it leaves. We got to experience a lot in that amount of time. Hope you have a great trip!
Thanks for the info!! What time of year did you go? Also were any of the attractions closed the day you went?
Went in December the week before the Christmas Holiday Break in 2022. All of the attractions were open except half of the rapid river (they made us exit half way through).
how far in advance did you book? I was told they didn't book until 60 days prior to arrival.
We booked about 2 weeks before our trip directly through the Atlantis website.
since you went on your own did you stay longer? I saw the excursion through the boat is only until 1:30 but the boat doesn't leave till 5 from the port. That is where I am having trouble deciding if I should book on my own or through the ship.
Yes we were able to stay at Atlantis a few hours longer than the Ship offered excursion. The waterpark area was open from 9-5 while we were there, but we also had no time limit on access to the resort. Hope you have a great trip!
We’re heading that way next week on a cruise. Is it a good idea to buy day passes from the resort and get a ride to and from? The ship?
It seems a bit pricey, was it cheaper if you booked with cruise line?
The cruise line offered it as an excursion for $250 per person and it included a shuttle for transportation. I have heard of others booking hotel rooms. We priced a room for that day and it was much higher than two day passes. I’m sure if we had a larger group that may have been a savings. Thanks so much for watching!
Much cheaper still, book a room with Comfort Suites. They issue complimentary passes for the Atlantis waterpark.
@@triliciacrawford6333 did you book a room for checking in the day you would be at Nassau or the day before? Check in is 3 pm and check out is 11 am We will be there from 8am to 5pm so I wasn’t sure which way to do it.
