I’m so glad you emphasized the need to be heavy handed with gel, & applying gel to roots to insure a good wash & go. I be telling my friends this, but they don’t be listening, then they be wondering why they wash n go’s don’t last. I’ll be sure to show them this video; they need all the help they can get!
@@gblogger1 flex seed and sea moss gel grows your hair and has great hold and slip. Takes just a few minutes to make flex seed gel and sea moss gel. My scalp itches when I add any other gel to my roots .. God bless
Come on somebody! Teach us the tricks sis! & the “just cause they sitting in front of a camera, doesn’t mean they are an expert” is the TRUTH! but your wash & goes are always on point! Thanks for the tips love!
You and me both, I normally don’t do wash n go but I’m going to try it for this summer and the times I have done it was not happy and when taking it out of the pineapple I look like Frankenstein’s wife lol and pulling it down was like why it ain’t cute so I re-wash my hair and do a twist out instead lol
When you said about the roots being left behind, “We don’t need that - that’s negativity!” , I done fell ALL the way out! Love your videos - keep ‘‘em coming!
I did a wash and go for the first time, and I had no idea that my hair was ACTUALLY healthy! I've been stretching my hair out a lot because I was insecure of the shrinkage. Now that my hair is past my shoulders straight, it finally covers my ears when shrunken 😂😂😂 But I love how my curls look, and totally am happy to find this video of how to maintain the wash and go
You. Have. UNLOCKED wash and gos for me with the tip not to hyper define with a Denman brush but just rake products through hair with my hands! I have gotten a wash and go that had instant natural volume and really nice definition! Zero fuss, zero fearing upsetting the curls - I just let it dry on its own, combination air dry on an unseasonably warm day while shoveling snow, and a little diffusing the roots, pointing air down. This is the single most helpful and important tip for wash and gos I've ever gotten. Subscribing, thanks soooo much!!!
My girl! Thanks for the tips! Trying to do better with my hair this year...I will be incorporating your tips...especially with the consistent routine...need to establish that asap. Cheers to 2022!
Firstly, yup! I just don't gel to the root anymore because I have fine strands and I don't like my wash n go to be flat. It 100% does facilitate more movement and life in the length of the style. I tradeoff abt 2days of style for a bigger style. 2ndly, I just love you and have adopted you as a cousin in my head. 🤷🏾♂️ Great advice, thanks cuzzo!
I never really thought about it but that is so true about wash n go's. You can finesse a lot of styles but if your hair not healthy that wash and go going to look bad.
I’m so glad u still do hair videos!! A lot of you “OG’s” is what got me started on my natural journey.. a lot or doin daily blogs blah blah if it’s not pertaining to the hair 😡
Yes, girl I've noticed the longest I go without heat the more spiral my curls are. I've went without heat for going on 6 years. My goal was 5 years & I don't even was to straighten it anymore. By doing the shingling method & using a tangle teaser paddle brush my wash and go's last 2 weeks, if I style with gel 💚 . If I style it with a few leave-in conditioners, it will last maybe a week . I deep condition every wash day & hot oil in the winter. Btw...Loved this Video ❤
@cathyfreeman8608 🥰yeees, they are popping..lol It's all on preference, I usually like to do both, but I do have those days in between wash days that I'll just refresh my curls with conditioner.
Great tips! I need to shingle my hair when doing wash & goes and I need to apply more product to my roots. Thanks for saying that there's an art to diffusing because I need to hear that.
I recently found your channel and you’re so hilarious and knowledgeable! Thank you and @FinallyAmber for being such bright and amazing women within my own personal hair journey! 🤩♥️🙌🏽
🗣Keep Bernie. And the Tamar Tuh. Teach the people friend. My notes for today during wash & go service. Gel my roots and diffuse downward and leave it alone. Lol. I friggin love you
All so true! Everything I be telling people we they say “your hair is so pretty!!” It’s not even the products so much, it’s the method. Let your hair dry super stiff, Get your ramen noodle on, then you can break the cast but just let your hair naturally get bigger. My best days of a wash and go are day 3 and 4 so I normally get 6-7 days with the last few days likely in a ponytail. Depending on humidity… I was afraid to use as much gel as I use now, that it would suffocate my hair. but my hair does need that gel at the roots otherwise I have an Afro with defined curls on the ends.
This was extremely helpful. I did shy away from wash n gos and got used to finger coiling, but I’m going back as soon as I take these twists out. I must say though, I’d love to see how your wash n go holds up each day.
I don’t do a pineapple because my hair doesn’t lay down well the next day. I do band it even though it’s longer. Sometimes I dampen it just a wee bit and put 6 or 8 large twists in it. But this only works well with products that don’t flake.
You've probably mentioned this tip (or touched on it somewhat and if so, I apologize) but my tip is to avoid high manipulation styles on first day hair. I sometimes like to wear my hair half up/half down and when I do I usually use a puff cuff. That style stretches the hair around the hairline, so I wear it on 5-7 day hair. You don't want your hair to be stretched out the first day.
You have just enlightened me! Often the issue is we know all the information but we either don't apply it or in my case don't apply it at the same time as a collective routine. I know about shingling, gels and wash and go's.. Have I done them all at the same time.. No 😳 Today is the day that my wash and go MUST last longer than 1 day 🙏
my wash n go was looking so good these 2 days and then today i went in a pool and my hair looks so bad😭 i rinsed out my hair and added some curl cream and detangled but yk , wash day will be painful !!
Lazy natural club member here buuuuuuuut...since I've tried to abandon that notion I've stuck to a routine and my hair does soooooo much better. I actually see the difference and I'm actually starting to love my hair.
Just came across your video…New subbie here, today! Love, love, love everything you had to say! Thank you so much for these “nuggets” of knowledge ! Definitely going to try. I just tried Camille Rose spiked honey mousse…going to find a compatible gel to add or just something to add to my leave in conditioner…love your idea on that (adding some to leave in)! Thank you so much! Sharing you with friends/family!
Yes please keep Bernie Mac!! My favorite intro lol!! Btw I still say welcome the congregation, rain(forgive me for the spelling) gang, happy curl gang!! 🤭 But this is very helpful! You're always helpful!! Looking forward to the next one beautiful! 😍
I just have one comment! When buying a hooded dryer research the airflow! Some have circular airflow and you will look like you’re caught up in a tornado 😂😂😂 get one that has the lid that comes down and turns on the dryer that one has downward airflow to protect the curls
The use of gel wasn't clear to me before. I hated the way it felt against my skin (ears, neck, etc.) but after slicking it back, I can tell the difference. I'll give it a go again when I do my next wash and go.
You had this old lady cracking up when you said trifling!!! Question though. I'm doing something wrong through. Day 1 is great. 2nd day the back ...mmmmm nope. Need tips!!! Cuz 2022 is my year!!!!

Heyyyyy there. Can you do a video talking about scalp issues. I have found that no matter how my hair is styled, the closer I get to five days then certain areas of my scalp freak out….what are your scalp issues?
Great tips! Question about the gels. Does it matter what kind of gels to use? Like one with glycerin; will that help with the longevity for a wash n go?
Raking and smoothing I would prefer as it doesn't take as long. Shingles gives me no volume the raking gives me more volume. With my thin hair I need as much volume as possible

Yes I don’t pick my hair at all. I get my definition in the beginning and my volume at the end. These are some great tips.
that’s amazing!!!

The way that laid me out 😭😭😭😂😂😂
