      @Prime-o8f 6 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      @gerard dearie It's not quite the case. Britain didn't colonise Ethiopia. Also Italy didn't fully occupy Ethiopia, it was constant war during those 5 years of 'occupation''. Constant guerrilla warfare from rebel Ethiopian fighters as well as the general Ethiopian population. Eventually Italy could no longer maintain their stay in Addis Ababa and had to leave once Ethiopian, British, and Free French & Belgium fighters defeated them in 1941.

    As a Sudanese black african man, I feel so sad that black people don't promote black civilizations, we all know that all the civilizations in africa is pure black civilizations, but none will say or mention it, I lived in a shared a house in the diaspora with a Cameroonian man, a Ghanaian woman, Barbadosian woman and Nigeran man and nonoe of them knew nothing about our history even though the 2 girls are doing masters at the University and when I tried to tell them they didn't give a shit about it and you can see the disbelieve with thier facial expressions.
    Look at the Black celebrity they all go to Egypt and promote Egyptian civilizations using thier socila media platforms coz the white man brainwashed them and let them believe its a white civilizations but they wouldn't go to Sudan and promote the kush civilizations.
    The westerns don't wanna admit so they promote Egyptian civilization and pass it on as its a white civilizations. Have you ever seen any documentary about the black civilizations specially the one in Sudan, such Morwe, Nabta, Burkul and kush civilizations in general? Ofcourse no, and unfortunately we still don't wanna promote our own civilizations unitl right now, even though anyone has a media platforms but none bothered to do so, then who's gonna promote it for us if we don't.
    And to those saying this should be in Hollywood, wake up you're far a away from the reality and living in fantasy world, Hollywood is anti balck establishment and will not do anything that promote black images, Hollywood can only damage black images as its already did, by giving cheap black actors all the evil acts so that people can associate us with it, even if they did do any movie about it is gonna be a white actors taking the king and queen rules. TH-cam and social media are more powerful nowdays than Hollywood so let's do it our own way.
    How many of you black folks has shared this? Very few right? There's no excuse anymore, anyone has a platform to promote our own civilizations now days, so plz do it, love Y'all.

      Ampocalypse W - Let us dispel the half truths and exaggerations of this black Afrocentric revisionism being pushed by Hometeam History with the following expounded upon quote with my emphasis:
      "In 25 BC, the Romans were planning a campaign against both Nubia (Meroe) and Arabia - Augustus bragged about this in his Res Gestae[:] 'two armies were led at about the same time into Aethiopia and into the Arabia called Felix [roughly the modern Republic of Yemen]'. Before the Romans had even tried anything, the Nubians attacked the Thebaid, and the Roman garrison at Syene. They enslaved inhabitants and pulled down Augustus’ statues. The prefect of Egypt, [Gaius] Petronius led [only] 10,000 infantry against 30,000 Nubians, CHASING THEM BACK to Nubia. He then SACKED the seat of the Nubian queen [i.e. the capital of Napata] - queen Candace (actually Queen Amanirenas, with title of 'candace') known from Nubian inscriptions. He ENSLAVED the inhabitants (sending 1,000 to Augustus presumably for the games) and set up a Roman garrison nearby. However, after the change in imperial policy later in Octavian Augustus, the Romans gave up their ambitions to conquer Meroe. They instead treated it as a 'client state'. Strabo talks about the Nubian ambassadors making a treaty with Augustus."

    I hope they make a movie about her someday. There have been several documentaries and movies about Boudicca the Incei Queen that took on the Romans and almost won but in the end she lost. But this Nubian queen actually held the Romans back. And defeated several Roman cohorts that's about 600 men per cohort roughly the equivalent to an American infantry battalion in the US Army. And got a favorable treaty out of the deal.

      @@TonyJack74 well shit. Do you have any sources on Nubians conquering of Egypt? and the Punic wars?. Wait about the Romans, didn't they come to an agreement with the Nubians? From what i read they could have won but they avoided further bloodshed by coming to an agreement with the queen on some island.

    Romans: we're the most powerful empire in the history we're conquering this entire continent.
    Amaniremas: Nope.

    • @MorallyDubiousFrog
      @MorallyDubiousFrog 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Romans didn’t plan or attempt to conquer all of Africa. They invaded the Kushites in response to Queen Amanirenas sacking several Egyptian towns while governor Petronius was campaigning in Arabia.
      In response, Petronius sacked their capital city and established a garrison at Qasr Ibrim. The Nubians attempted to drive them out but were repulsed. They then sent ambassadors to Augustus, and a peace treaty was agreed upon.
      Much of the Kushites territory was returned, but the Romans maintained control of Qasr Ibrim and the territory north of it.
