I can tell how emotionally attached I was to this story when I too screamed in horror when Montes got shot (I loved the guy; he was too funny and also stood by Blackburn even against all the evidence against him, so he's a real bro), and I actually began crying when that happened. It was good to let all that emotion out in the QTE fight, that's for sure. As far as the overall campaign, the previous BF game, Bad Company 2's story was a serious downgrade from Bad Company 1's in that instead of being original it was a ripoff of Gears of Duty. This one wasn't as good as BC1 but it was still a really interesting and engaging story that got a lot of interesting emotional responses from me. Sadness and anger when Miller and Montes died, amusement when the wigger squadmate in "Operation Swordbreaker" got shot and was taken out of the story as well as with every single one of Montes's lines, etc. EDIT: There is one plot hole with this campaign - uh, if Blackburn, Montes and Zapp Brannig- Captain Cole were the only Marines who survived Cole's hilariously incompetent assault on the VDV (Russian airborne battalion) landing party, and they all split up to search the compound, how do these CIA pricks know that Blackburn shot Cole? They aren't Colonial Marines; they don't have helmet cameras.
This is the best BF campaign, what I loves is for the first half it follows very much a Iraq/Afghanistan war storyline, rescue an ambushed patrol, as a tank commander lead an attack on a terrorist compound, shoot your way through the streets to find stolen weapons
I'm a bit late here, but it can be presumed for two reasons. One is that Blackburn is the only survivor of this event, well, and Dima of course. The second is that he riddled Cole's body with 5.56 NATO rounds, a distinctively American caliber and chances are they could trace the shell casings or the projectiles at the scene to being US military ammo.
@Cute Corgi Yeah, this. Plus guns have ballistic markings which I believe are unique to each rifle, so I think it's entirely possible that the bullets were matched with Blackburn's gun. That, and I believe Blackburn stated that a few others were there as well

I wonder how many people think "Fragging" is just a term used in videogames and got confused when he said "The only thing we can say happened for sure is you fragged your CO" at the start of the video. FYI by the way, "Fragging" is a term coined in the Vietnam war because of the common use of grenades for taking out friendly officers who were seen as monsterous, or uncaring towards their own troops or civilians. Commonly done by their own troops as well, the grenade being the weapon of choice because it's hard to tell if it was done with intent to kill or by mistake.
@Genome852 actually. my interpretation is that the person knocking on the door was Blackburn. Perhaps he, like Dima, was looking for some closure (he shot his C.O. his "best mate" died, and basically his life can't be the same again with all that has happened).
The gun play, graphics, how fluid the movement was, sound, atmosphere, everything was perfect in this game, battlefield has come close to this but has never been able to make a game as good as this one was, sure you can port over some maps from the multiplayer that were great, but that’s only part of the the equation, this game had so much more going for it than the maps, it had a actual identity and had soul behind it, that you just don’t get in games today.
For some reason I keep thinking this whole sequence is all pure coincidence... 1) the CIA's contact said he/she lost a train -> that means Solomon must be using that VERY TRAIN. I mean, what purpose does this dialogue serve??? 2) That train has to pass by Long Island, where the office was located, to get to New York's Times Square, IT JUST HAD TO. 3) I figured this out but I'm still going to say it. At first I didn't know why Blackburn asked Montes for the time. But because Montes said 6:02pm and the final mission starts at 5:55pm. It clicked in my head, the approximate duration from Long Island to Times Square is 9 mins... (I researched this part, because I'm not an American)
