I saw a diamond tester video where the kid tested a massive emerald cut “diamond” that would have been easily over $100k. The husband was sweating bullets, not saying a word. The wife was very confident. It tested real, and the husband relaxed and started talking it up like it was obviously real. That gem was definitely a moissenite.

10$ diamond testers cant tell the difference, need a real diamond/moissentie tester! About 300$

@@jondough942 Exactly! The tester claimed to test diamond vs Moissenite, but I recognized it as one of those cheapo thermal conductivity testers, which cannot differentiate diamond and Moissenite despite the advertising.

I'm 100% into Team Moissanite. The way I figure it is that since I like my box locks with a stone on the button and the day I sell it, they won't give me anything for the value of the stone, might as well get the best bang for my jewelry buck as possible. Put the biggest Moissanite rock that can fit the lock in there and F the diamontards. 🤣

for sure moissanite has more brilliance, but if you know what you’re looking at the brilliance of diamonds looks “off” compared to diamonds. yes it’s a completely different stone but i’d be curious on higher quality moissanite that has similar refraction to diamonds while being more “black and white” in color than multi color. I’m still impressed by it and love my moissanite pieces.

    • @beartutor3377
      @beartutor3377 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@mcintosh.motors the “multicolor” is a property gemologists call fire. Diamond has no fire (0.04) but Moissanite does (0.10) which accounts for the difference.

Good video. I've been digging your content. My "brand" may have a Jewish name, but I was actually born raza. Good to see someone who's raza/Hispanic doing good and making dreams into reality. Some other fun facts: Natural moissanite is more rare than natural diamond. Moissanite is actually more durable overall than diamond, and is only slightly less durable in the scratching department. Yet, lab diamond is more expensive than lab moissanite. Diamond has cleavage lines while moissanite doesn't, making moissanite less likely to break, chip, or crack. Natural alexandrite is more expensive than natural diamond, yet lab diamond is more expensive than lab alexandrite. Moissanite is also double refractive, so for every point at which light enters, it exits at two. Diamond will never match up in shine and has notably less fire, which I strongly believe plays a major role in "shine factor" (I love colors).
It's just as you said; it's all social propagand, the use of media, and a monopolized market to push human culture to over value diamond and think it's the best (most brilliance and most fire) and rarest gemstone in the world when it's actually not. I just can't pay more money for less brilliance and less fire out of a white stone.

I love Moissanite. I don’t care about the environmental advantages and the social advantages. What I love about Moissanites is that they’re better than diamonds in almost every conceivable way. They are more brilliant, more refractive, and more durable. The only area where diamonds win is in hardness. But while diamonds are harder, they have cleaving lines that make them easier to break. If your diamond accidentally gets hit on a cleaving line, it can break in half! Moissanite doesn’t have that problem. Wear Moissanite. You will get many compliments. You will love it.

-if I had known about Moissanite, when I got married, I would have jumped at it. Now, I am wearing beautiful Moissanite stones that absolutely are beautiful. I also like at Winter Creek. I think they’re prettier than diamonds. I think that because they don’t involve anyone’s pain, suffering, or being forced to look for diamonds, at the point of a gun that makes me double happy but Moissanite is not a diamond. It is a gemstone and its own right you’re not wearing a fake diamond you’re wearing a Moissanite and that is a gemstone. And I’m here to tell you that I think it’s irresponsible of the diamond companies to tell young people who are getting married oh, you should spend two months of your salary on a wedding ring. That with a wedding dress, a honeymoon and everything else and a couple goes into debt. Why because of the diamond companies the giant ones like the ones he say a diamond is forever.DeBeers is the biggest culprit that I’ve seen either way whoever wants to giggle and laugh go right ahead I giggle and laugh because everybody compliments me on my rings, and they sparkle and shine and they’re beautiful. My wedding ring is missing right now and it is all diamonds nearly 3 carrots and it has been appraised at $20,000. I am wearing a Moissanite right now that I adore till it shows back up but don’t think I won’t be wearing my moist tonight because I will I think it’s the most responsible choice if you love sparkly things and you don’t want to spend money that could be used for your family and everything that will benefit more than just one person than Moissanite is for you

While I agree with everything said here. Here's the issue I have. People are just hating on eachothers choices. Natural diamond vs lab diamond vs moissanite. There is no wrong choice. If your issues with diamonds is "it's not rare, overpriced, and has no resale value" then how do you explain buying a moissanite??? Moissanites are not rare, they're made in a lab, moissanites are extremely overpriced for what they are, and they have no resale value. People make it about what you can afford. It's not that. It's what your willing to spend. There's nothing wrong with any choice. Even CZ. You guys have let the hip hop market play with your head. Everything has to be VS VS VS. 90% of you are wearing i1 diamonds. An they look good. but you have no idea that's not Si1 and that's not VS. It's i1!!! Be happy with your purchases and stop explaining yourself to people. If you like it, YOU like it.

@chillwill120 With 10gs as a budget. You can definitely find bigger cleaner diamonds on a deal that will hold resale value. If your talking about a smaller piece with smaller diamonds it depends on what it is. I would spend $3000 on a heavier in gold piece with some diamonds. Before I spend $500-$1000 on a bust down moisanite piece. That's just me. I'm not knocking anyone who chooses something cheaper. Its just materialistic shit anyways.

    1) The certificates. Certificates were made for diamonds, but it doesn't make sense for moissanites
    2) Refraction rate and all those small decimal numbers suppose to prove it's better than diamond. They look the same and thats it
    3) That they are worthless. Ye sure they are, so is the entire diamond industry
Best non-diamond stone with regard to hardness, so they are just as "forever" as diamonds. We can have iced jewelry without paying diamond price.

I don't see people comparing Emralds to Lapis Lazuli. Nor sapphire to Jade. Or Turquoise to Garnet. So why compare 2 different gemstones to each other? Because they're white..most gemstones are colorless. Chemechal inclusions decide what hue they reflect back. Diamond will never be Moissanite, and the other way around.

Moisanites are cool till you see diamonds look better in person. can’t do that disco effect that all these cheap jewelry manufacturers have, if they where to have moisanite cut too refract light the same way diamonds do then they’d be winning but everyone is to cheap to do there R&D and get moisanite that’s cut that way and they stick to that mass produced disco moisanite

Been telling these fools. Stop being over sold on the the same concept: moissanite a real gem stone; diamond a real gem stone. Moissanite has the best shine, brilliance, and color; diamond has all 3 attributes as well... Moissanite has little to no resale value; diamonds have little to no resale value... Why are we still buying over priced diamond gem stones folks? Is it because the stones are harder 😂

Yeah so that means real diamonds are going to be rare and even more expensive. So diamonds will be great investments. 🤷🏽‍♂️

If the engagement ring is a moissanite, the wedding needs to be called off.

If the woman asks for moissannite, then give her that. Otherwise the expectation is for a natural diamond. If a man got down on a knee and proposed and I find out late it's not the type of ring I want he can get a new ring or a new fiance. Choice is his. If I spot it immediately, I'm saying no. If the ring is fake so is your love. @@gucciboy4555

Because the man didn't care to invest in something rare and valuable for the woman. It says a lot about how he sees the relationship. He doesn't value tradition. He doesn't value her. So he gets her a cheap ring. @@gucciboy4555

It infuriates me that the Indians on ebay etc sell very crappy brown moissanite and call them Lab Created Diamonds… no they are not!!!! Real Lab created diamonds are more beautiful and very often cheaper than moissanite.
