      I am trying to start with a apple HomeKit smart home, i got like 300 € do you have any suggestions or must have‘s?

    • @OneTechMind
      @OneTechMind  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm actually working on a HomeKit video series where I talk about my smart home setup! Here are a few of my favorites in the meantime. Let me know if you have any other questions.
      *Lutron Caseta In-Wall Dimmer* - extremely versatile switches that work with almost any existing wiring
      *Philips Hue Bulbs/Lights* - best and most reliable white and multicolored bulbs on the market
      *Schlage Sense Smart Lock* - very reliable lock pictured in this video. I've had mine almost six years and it hasn't given me any trouble

    • @tospoooky4me-417
      @tospoooky4me-417 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is there a big difference between the normal white Phillips hue bulbs and the multicoloured ones?

    • @tospoooky4me-417
      @tospoooky4me-417 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I picked up the normal white ones 4 pieces with bridge for 70€ but if they are good I might get some coloured ones

    Thanks for the video! I was an Android user since I was in primary school. Almost 1 year ago I tried an 11 pro max with 64gb storage and after 6 months, I switched back to android. The 64gb just wasn't enough for me. Now because I love the 12 pro max design, I'm coming back to iOS. Now with 256gb, to be safe. I wanted to buy a MacBook, but I went with an Asus gaming laptop because it suits my personal needs. But I think an 12 pro max and an iPad Air 2020 will be a start to enter in this ecosystem. Maybe a watch too, but in the future, because now I'm working from home and I just don't need a watch.

    I would never go full apple but if I did, this would be my dream ecosystem.
    iPhone either SE or 8 because home button
    IPad Air with magic keyboard as my laptop (once ipad updates make 3rd party app support available otherwise I’d get a MacBook Air)
    Mac Pro (if I was rich XD) as my desktop
    Apple Watch S6 as my watch (I think that’s the latest one)
    Home pod mini
    Air pods pro

    I love the video, I watched it because I didn’t know much about apples eco-products. Well Apple has proven they’ve got integrity, and all their equipment is trustworthy. So I am looking to expand my Apple collection/ecosystem. I like where Apple is going with all this modernized technology and I must admit, I appreciate apples acknowledgment and concern for the disabled users. Great informative video. Yeah I need to invest in a Mac to try out the mac features. But one you can add is audio switching when you have Airpods in watching a movie on iPad and iPhone rings and you can answer and once the call is ended back to the movie senselessly. On the subject of calling how you can answer calls from any device when your iPhone rings from the watch Mac iPad and even the home pod

    • @valvevac-systemchecker3773

      Does audio switching actually work on Mac? I have noticed that it works seamlessly between the iPad and iPhone but on Mac you still have to fiddle around with the Bluetooth settings.

      @@jayyycrawford23 I actually fiddled around with it today and unfortunately it still needs actual user input. I tried it both with a set of airpods pro and airpods max. Maybe with macOS monterey that is set to release on monday the feature will be available. Also nice yeah hope you find a nice mac that fits your needs and use, would definitely recommend the new macbooks pros or the m1 macbook air!

    • @OneTechMind
      @OneTechMind  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is correct. It doesn’t auto-switch to Mac if the AirPods are in use on another device, but it does bring up a little button for your to press in order to connect them more easily.

    Great ! Thank you ! Could you please teach us what extra features (additional RAM ? etc.) I should order with my future iMac 24" M1 so that it is quite fitted for photo editing with Luminar Ai, Photoscape X, Touch Retouch and other photo apps. I do not see where to find this information and I would like to change my old iMac. Thank you. New sub btw.

    • @OneTechMind
      @OneTechMind  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there and welcome aboard! I appreciate your sub.
      I haven’t used those exact apps, but my usual advice is to buy as much RAM (and storage) as you can afford. The new iMac only goes up to 16GB of RAM so I would max it out. This will be more important than ever since you can no longer upgrade the RAM yourself.
      Because of the apps you use, you also will likely benefit from the M1 with an 8-core GPU (version that starts at $1,499).
