Another thing with casting, you can even cast streaming services from an iPhone to the Mac! I like it when I connect my Mac to say a projector and I can control the movie or show I’m watching without having to get up!
Great video, this has been really useful! You’ve convinced me that a Mac and iPad is a great pairing, but you haven’t convinced me that an iPhone is essential in this mix with Google and third party apps. While I am mostly in the Apple ecosystem with a Mac and an iPad, I don’t feel that I’m missing out anything with my Android phone and third party earbuds… plus I don’t wear a watch. I do most of what you’ve shown anyway, just with different 3rd party apps.
Thank you, this was an excellent video. Since 1996, I have been using Apple computers both desktops and laptops. Also, since the introduction of their basic iPad 4th generation, I have owned a basic iPad and my current model is the 9th generation. However, I have never wanted to join the complete Apple ecosystem. So, I have never owned an iPhone, Apple Watch, or Home Pod (smile...smile).
You have come so far, so fast! I remember your first Nintendo Switch video. Its really incredible to see the hard work you have and continue to put into these helpful/entertaining videos. Youre gonna be on top! 🎉 Happy 2024 Ella!
Great video as always ,cant wait for the samsung ecosystem one. Crazy how youre almost at 400k subs. I remember when you were at 100k. Crazy to see how much your channel has grown in subs.
Most of those features exist with the Samsung ecosystem. But I think the Apple one is more seamless and easy to use. With Samsung, you have to activate some parameters, or even worse install some specific Samsung apps (for example, if you are using your Galaxy Buds, Samsung Wear has to install at first the add-on for Buds). If you use the Samsung Smart Tag, you have to install Samsung Smart Things and activate some parameters in order for it to be detectable by others Samsung smartphones...
this is my take as well, i have been to both ecosystems but i have decided to stay in the apple ecosystem. not to sound like an apple fan boy but apple's ecosystem has been more reliable, polished and more refined compared with samsung's.
Having these features configured with apps instead of integrated settings is a small trade off for the ability of having them enabled for other non-Samsung devices, in my opinion. If you have a Samsung phone you already have them installed and if not, they are available in the play store. I'm not completely aware of all the apps available or how it works exactly having to sign in with a Samsung account, but let's say you like their browser or the Wearable app, you can have all the important features in any device. Even on Windows I have the app to control my Buds, it seems like Apple isn't planning on allowing this kind of stuff.
@@Jj82op I'm sorry, but what is this weird take? Samsung is notorious for limiting their in-house apps to Samsung hardware, this is especially bad on Windows as you are forced to use a laptop (since they don't make desktops) if you want to enjoy the Samsung ecosystem. Also, no smart speaker to be found anywhere, they have Tizen on their TVs to this day where apps are region locked (!) and the TV constantly disconnects from SmartThings (maybe EU problem? I don't know, hasn't been fixed in 3 years of owning that TV, some hobby developers figured out how to properly implement Samsung TVs into Home Assistant, so I'm using HomeKit to control the TV now, shame on you, Samsung!). The screen mirroring from a Samsung phone to the TV is 10 steps instead of 2 with AirPlay (again, shame on you Samsung!). Samsung cloud has been reduced to a joke in favor of OneDrive (oh the sweet Microsoft money!), Samsung Pay includes opening a new bank account in Germany and this goes on and on. And this is just a small list of why I dropped the Samsung ecosystem for good.
Actually in other video she said that Samsung is more seamless than Iphone. Also Samsung will always lead with the ability to connect seamlessly with Windows and other non-Samsung devices
One big thing I think is important to review is the Apple TV. I have an OLED TV and the Apple TV is probably one of the most intuitive pieces of tech that many dont speak of. I use home pod minis as speakers for my tvs, and it shares many of the same entertainment apps that you would see on a phone and macbook. I really recommend everyone look into the Apple TV if you really want to integrate into the apple ecosystem
I appreciate the uniqueness of your videos. You are not just another one note TH-camr who only does one thing. You diversify yourself by doing different types of videos. Keep doing you girl. Never change for nobody unless you want to. Good work! 👌🏽
video was fire! lots of things didn't knew about Apple ecosystem.. AND, video quality its 10/10, looks so crispy at 4k. Oh, bytheway, you look fantastic as always ☺️
Great video, but still missing a few important features. For example, Continuity is just a bonus on Macs, test the iPhone Camera on an Apple TV, that's where the value is (FaceTime, Karaoke...). About Casting, try casting to your Apple TV, and watch those 4k videos on a big OLED screen. Universal control works pretty good between computers too, not only with your iPad. Also, something nice to try, pair your home pods to your Apple TV or just watch a movie using your AirPods...
The ecosystem is worth the hype I think. The main advantage with continuity cam apart from video quality is center stage in my opinion. Great if you’re 2 in front of the computer for instance.
universal control and sidecar where deal breakers for me to get a Galaxy Tab for college. those alone are super great, for writing some text and doing a bit of coding on the campus, without getting headaches to connect and make it work!
Hi! Love your videos! Another useful ecosystem feature is Wifi password sharing. When one of your devices connects to a new Wifi router/hotspot and you pull out your other device, a prompt will appear on your connected device asking you if you want to share the Wifi password to your other device. I find it very useful when I’m travelling for work. It reduces time and effort to look up the password again and retype it to connect your other device/s. However, it’s also not very reliable as the prompt does not appear 100% of the time. I think 3/5 haha!
I do read quite often that Apples Eco-system is considered the best. But when I think of the Tab S9Ultra, S23(soon 24)Ultra, the Galaxy Watches, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, Foldables, Samsung TVs... I would strongly argue that Samsung is at least as good, if not better positioned in terms of hardware (the only point that goes to Apple in my eyes are laptops, Macbooks are admittedly really strong for the price). The nice thing about Samsung, however, is that it can be easily supplemented not only with Samsung products but with any Android products and thus you have an almost infinitely large eco-system with tons of possibilities and combinations which offer the best at every price, in every price range and work together flawlessly and do offer a ton of innovative and ingenious features and great software, which is clearly superior to Apple's and years ahead in many aspects. I, for example, do have a smartphone from OPPO (was the best you could get for the price), Huawei headphones (didn't want to spend more than 70$ and these are the best in this price range) and a TicWatch addition to my TabS9 (incredibly good tablet, the stylus is the best there is) and a very good Samsung TV and everything works flawlessly together. So Apple's ecosystem is definitely good. Definitely one of the best in its price range. But only in the extremely expensive (and overpriced) range. It's also not versatile, flexible or compatible. Samsung is.
On the AirPod switching issue this is fixable. Apple defaults to automatically connecting for some strange reason (given they hope everyone has multiple Apple devices). You can change that (on each device) to connect to last device connected. Sometimes unexplainably Apple resets this setting to their default after updates so you need to change it again. But do this and the AirPods won't randomly switch away from a device you are already using.
I just watched this entire video because of your presentation and what makes it look killer is your smile. It is true if you smile on a call or in any content video you will definitely grab the attention of your client/audience. Stay Blessed
I’m getting trained as a video editor so in the office I’m very used to dual screens so when I’m in school and I only have my laptop and iPad, sidecar is what keeps my workflow sane
Also FaceTime family calls on Apple TV, using your iPhone camera to do a full lounge sized FaceTime on your TV is a an amazing way to connect for overseas families
Screen mirroring (AirPlay) the iPad to the MacBook is useful in certain scenario. for example, in case if you want to do a presentation and an interactive whiteboard, but the client's meeting room only have a regular TV. Then, just need to connect the MacBook to the TV, and do the writing and presentation from the iPad, AirPlay it to the TV.
Ahhh not the cliffhanger for the Samsung ecosystem!! ALSO, I love how you edited this video 😊 the text above the background but behind you as the main subject is such a cool effect and I love to see a video on how you edit
Your videos are always informative and clear. That you point out the reality is also appreciated. The reality is Apple isn't flawless like the picture is too often painted. It can be good in some and more troublesome than mixed brand and systems. I see this at work with a mixed environment .
Great video, thanks! I have an Apple ecosystem too, and probably the one feature I use the most is Universal Control between my desktop computer and my laptop, it's really convenient. Oh, and I finally subscribed 🙂
When did you do the Airpod device switching test? There were massive improvements in the reliability of Airpods switching between devices in this year's software updates.
Generally, the best parts of the ecosystem is airpods phone and either the ipad or mac (not both even tho apple will convince you otherwise). The more you add the nicer it gets, but obviously the more expensive it all becomes. The core essentials imo are what i mentioned.
If you’re an illustrator like me, nothing beats the IPad Pro - quality of the pencil and the apps are far superior. Android has Clip, but iOS has that, plus Procreate, Fresco, and more. Android specific apps aren’t in the same ball park I’m afraid.
4:35 But Ella, doesn’t the MacBook already have photos and videos installed using iCloud from the Photos app for Mac? There’s no particular use, other than if your iCloud isn’t working.
Happy new year. Your videos are really good and they’re getting better. I hope you keep getting better. I see you. You are really good at this and you really enjoy it good for you.
I also use google docs for all my notes as well because its fast, feature rich and cross platform. As someone who prefers a samsung phone paired with a macbook, i find ecosystems to be overrated and even more so that nowadays everythings syncs with almost everything else. Only really useful feature in an ecosystem to me is universal copy and paste but even that has a simple workaround when using a samsung and a mac
Happy New Year Ella! I always love these review style videos from you, well presented, giving us all the info we need. 🙂 I'd love to see a Samsung Ecosystem version 🤩 I really don't think the apple ecosystem is better. I'd prefer to have a Windows laptop, samsung phone, samsung earbuds, samsung galaxy watch and the samsung smart tag, samsung tablet + S pen, the list goes on. ( Windows Laptop, iPad, and Samsung phone is my preffered setup. ) Plus, some of the samsung products have cross compatibility. I have an iPhone 12 right now and knew i'd not invest in anymore of the ecosystem, as I've always had Samsung/Android and just wanted a change, I can download the Galaxy Buds/Galaxy Watch apps, and they work as any normal bluetooth earbuds would, I have an equalizer and other settings in the app that are identical to the airpods. I'm not saying you shouldn't invest in this ecosystem, they're are many people who LOVE Apple, and I guess it's alot to do with influence and what you are used to, and personally like to work with, for example; if your parents have iPhones, they'd be more likely to get YOU an iPhone, and so you'd start to without intention, invest in their accessories. The Samsung GalaxyBook, which I don't see as a benefit? they come running windows 10 or ChromeOS, it's not like the galaxybooks run DeX which i'd like to see as a new flagship operating system to compete with Microsoft / Macbooks .
as a UI designer, I cannot emphasise how convenient the side car function is. I simply place my iPad near my mac and I can instantly see my design on it, not to mention you can use your iPad as a screen extension not just mirroring ❤

Loving the new video style 👌 . It's like a tech info show 😉 . Happy new year Ella 😘 🌹 💞
For me it's very worth it. Sync between phone and laptop is flawless
Im not buying any of these, i just love Ella💞.
Good video. I would love to see a vid about the Google ecosystem.
Can't forget about Apple TV and Airtag though.
Ahhh not the cliffhanger for the Samsung ecosystem!! ALSO, I love how you edited this video 😊 the text above the background but behind you as the main subject is such a cool effect and I love to see a video on how you edit
How don’t you already have a million subs lmao your stuff is top tier
Your videos are always informative and clear. That you point out the reality is also appreciated. The reality is Apple isn't flawless like the picture is too often painted. It can be good in some and more troublesome than mixed brand and systems. I see this at work with a mixed environment .
Great video, thanks! I have an Apple ecosystem too, and probably the one feature I use the most is Universal Control between my desktop computer and my laptop, it's really convenient. Oh, and I finally subscribed 🙂
Awesome video Ella! Happy new year🎉
Happy new year!!
When did you do the Airpod device switching test? There were massive improvements in the reliability of Airpods switching between devices in this year's software updates.
This channel actually was worth discovering
Universal Control looks amazing!
At the end I didn't see the Galaxy book. Are you going to test it in your Samsung ecosystem video?
Generally, the best parts of the ecosystem is airpods phone and either the ipad or mac (not both even tho apple will convince you otherwise). The more you add the nicer it gets, but obviously the more expensive it all becomes. The core essentials imo are what i mentioned.
Would love to see the battle of ecosystems between Apple and Samsung
❤
In the end, apple always win at least in real life for these TH-camrs
You didn’t include the Apple TV. I would say it’s part of the core ecosystem, as it’s part of the personal computing experience.
You’re videos are so pleasant and genuinely enjoyable to watch 😁
Useful succinct accurate info. Well presented. The channel is growing because of substance and style.
Apple's Ecosystem is incredible.
Connect your phone by wire to macbook and backup after that airpods change source very quickly.
Was honestly much more impressed by the Samsung (and Android/Windows) ecosystem.
And your videos are always great! Great job!
I loved this video always so thorough!! Thx Ella😊😊❤
Every windows or android user need to see this.
I think 40% of these are convenient but I don't think any of these features are THAT good that i need to lock myself in a walled garden voluntarily
0:36 THIS IS so satisfying.
Happy new year. Your videos are really good and they’re getting better. I hope you keep getting better. I see you. You are really good at this and you really enjoy it good for you.
please never leave TH-cam
For some reasons im always having problems with the hotspot in my iphone to mac, idk why?
Great video and I think this is the best showcase of the apple ecosystem features.
2:03 Apple notes can also collab it’s a bit slow though. But it works!
4:30 useful for when you're trying to recover things from your device with a broken screen where there still is tough sensitivity
Hey Ella! I hope you could make a video about great and maybe cheaper, and better alternatives for the iphone 15. I love your videos!
The cross device copy and paste is called Universal Clipboard
Happy New Year Ella! I always love these review style videos from you, well presented, giving us all the info we need. 🙂 I'd love to see a Samsung Ecosystem version 🤩
I really don't think the apple ecosystem is better. I'd prefer to have a Windows laptop, samsung phone, samsung earbuds, samsung galaxy watch and the samsung smart tag, samsung tablet + S pen, the list goes on.
( Windows Laptop, iPad, and Samsung phone is my preffered setup. )
Plus, some of the samsung products have cross compatibility.
Great video and implementation coming from someone who isn't in the Apple ecosystem. Thanks!
I actually didn't know some of the downsides of these features, so thank you for showing that too
I had the same issue with my airpods always preferring my phone, but now it works pretty well switching between other devices.
Hey Ella was just wondering if you had only one choice which ecosystem would you choose between the two?
