Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is an introspective self-report questionnaire indicating differing psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. The test attempts to assign four categories: introversion or extraversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, judging or perceiving. One letter from each category is taken to produce a four-letter test result, like INTP or INFP

INFPs are weird. It's hard being one. But as frustrating as it is I do love my weirdness; being nice, being kind and getting excited about the world are awesome. The world was not really set up for us though

@@kasiasaved6233 I‘m sorry to hear that :( I don’t know what happened but it’s not okay. Though he was probably not okay too. I think none of us is. I think as much as being introverted and sensitive makes you want to run and hide a lot, going so far as to shut people out completely, every strength can turn into a pit. People who talk a lot can easily say things that they shouldn’t, people who talk less can easily stay quiet on things that matter.
We all know what it’s like to feel pain and we’ve all been the one hurting others. And Jesus, God in the flesh, died taking all that pain on himself on the cross so that we can be with him where there is no pain. I was working in a company that was assembling bikes. So my job was to prepare front wheels and pass them over. So everytime I was giving them to that man and he would pick them up from me I was saying Thanks. It was so silly because I was doing it automatically. Until one time that man said: you know, you don't have to thank me everytime. He brought me back on earth, since I was lost in my thoughts. He seemed a little bit angry so after that I was repeating myself: just don't say thanks, don't say thanks 😄

    • @jeffjones7108
      @jeffjones7108 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

Fortunately for an INFP a social death sentence isn't that big a deal. It's like being banned from a forum you didn't visit much and hadn't even bothered bookmarking. You'd even let your browser save the password, that's how unimportant the forum was to you. And they'd banned you for being mildly ironic because they didn't realise you were being ironic even though contextually it was quite obvious. And even if you hadn't been being mildly ironic and had actually meant it, it still wouldn't have justified a banning. So you still wouldn't have felt bad, but because you were in fact being mildly ironic you feel that being banned was actually a bit of a compliment... but you don't follow that thought any further since that would require identifying a compliment you couldn't refuse but didn't consent to accepting. The last thing you needed right now was to be burdened with a _seventh_ compliment to add to the others you'd had in your life and relived behind locked doors in the dead of a moonless night, biennially.
But I'm glad you're happy you aren't a shy INFP. And if I'm being ironic there, it's very very mildly. So mildly that I don't even know myself. But it would be a self-deprecating irony anyway. Or would it be implying that you should want to be a shy INFP? Is that what I really think? Why would I think that? I wouldn't think people should want to be like me, but I absolutely think we need more people who are like me but not me. Not because they're like me, but because they're awesome. Unlike me. Similarities being superficial due to the vast and imprecise distances which separate us all, until we die and everyone who never knew us but thought they did mourn the person they invented in their heads, inspired by real events involving us. Which is less tragic for we shy INFPs since (due to our social death sentence) fewer people falsely believed they knew us and we falsely believed fewer people knew us too. So the lie that dies with us is a much smaller lie than dies with most people. It is the last mask of all: our face.

    • @jeffjones7108
      @jeffjones7108 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

And no, what I just wrote does not totally make sense. In case you're wondering. I was mostly just playing with words. Which is as pithy a summary of human life as I'm capable.
I have a theory that the sense of self is in fact a social adaptation. So when people talk about the evils of the illusion of self and identifying with your sense of self, it reminds me that I need to talk less and spend more time alone. Both of those, though. I'm alone right now but talking a whole bunch. Time to fix that. Have a nice day!

@@jeffjones7108 Your comment is pure genius. Pure. Genius. So much is it pure genius that it trumped my infp need to not hurt anyone's feelings because I couldn't help laughing out loud over and over as I read it, even while worried that my hubby (who is playing guitar singing gospel songs 3 metres from me) might think I was laughing at his singing, or that at best I was being rather inconsiderate. So with only mild irony but mostly genuine gratitude and admiration, thanks a lot! It's even better that your work-of-art of a comment is humbly displayed in the middle of nowhere as though it were not something that should be enjoyed and admired by the world or at least much more than the few people who happen upon it here!

I even started looking up a courses online I could take for like the whole night. Of course it died there but still, that would be very fascinating 😂
Btw, I am the only one incredibly ashamed of showing others my favorite songs? I mean, I feel soooo exposed and vulnerable it's almost uncomfortable. Plus I'm always sure they're never gonna be able to appreciate it. The only person I've been doing this with is a friend of mine, who I recently found out is an INFP too lol.

As an INFP-A, I feel like I don't quite get the full experience that T types get so much crap for. Most of these resonate with me, but not quite to the same deep level.
I'm an ambivert and love socializing with people, so long as they can hold a decent conversation. Once I'm home though, im just like "Ahhh, quiet happy place. Leave me the f*ck alone."
Then a few days later, this burning need arises and I'm all like: "I need lively and smart people to talk with. I need intelligent conversation, NOW dammit."
To my fellow INFPs, keep doing you and being 100% yourself. Keep growing into the beautiful person that you are. 💛 find something you absolutely love, that thing that you loved most as a child, that thing you've always done naturally. Be the artist you always wanted to be, embrace your loves wholeheartedly and unashamedly. No one can be you. You are unique to the world and are radiantly beautiful because of it. We are the butterfly, the rainbow, the sunset. We are the ones that others stop and stare in awe of our sheer beauty.
And if no one else tells you today, you can at least hear it from me. You may not always be understood, but you are definitely loved.

Ooo i can relate to this. Long time ago i said to my friends I'm kind a bastard and jerk. So savage. Etc.
But I'm so shocked they looked at me not like that. Almost all people see me the opposite. In this point i just realized I'm too bias and blind to see my self (I'm on negative mental state) cold, dark, gloomy, muddy etc... i don't know about my self. And i want to know my self more after. Pivoted my POV to my self, questioning my self alot etc it's really help me...
It's seems we try to hurt ourselves and others cause inside we are in pains (due our sensitive nature) but couldn't see it. If we found & heals the wounds INFPs are very loveable, warm, caring, understanding etc...
I learn to embrace & accept all the spectrum of emotion & feelings (- 0 +) as it is. Cause i know I'm not type who can control emotions & feelings so i choose to understand them.

For the eye contact, when i talk to people i love to see their eyes. But then during the conversation, i noticed they're not looking at my eyes. They're looking at my mouth? So i got weirded, monologue happens, and missed what they actually were talking about.
And another is when someone talk about a drama or movie i've never watched before. Maybe a character they were into so much, but just to be nice i guess?, or maybe i'm actually too lazy to let them talk more?, i would just agree with them, talk as if i know the drama or the movie or the character and man i'm good at talking about things i never knew about, people would buy it and they would stop talking. But then another episode comes out, they would start talking about it again, and now i'm too late to say i never watch the drama or movie, i would google or watch them just to know what to talk about the next time we would have this conversation again. But then no, people don't talk about it anymore XD

This one time in university, we had an extra class on a weekend. We were informed via group chat to show up to class at a certain time because a few classes were missed. I had to take an expensive Uber as my van wasn't available that day. I reach my uni, go to my class and I'm literally the first one there !!!! I was honestly so happy about it. However 10mins pass, no one shows up. 20mins pass, still no one not even the teacher honestly it was weird, then after like 45mins, my class door finally opens and its the........cleaner. he looks at me all sus and says what the hell am I doing in an empty class and I say, we have class lol. He just cleans up the entire place and leaves and I'm just sitting there like a dumbass. I msg in the group and no reply and out of fear of missing my class I wait almost two hours lol (our class was supposed to be 3 hours long) and then I just come back home in another expensive Uber. I could've eaten like 5 nice meals with that money. Later on the teacher just sent a stupid excuse of why he didn't show up that day, what my stupid self can't get is, how the hell did not even one person other than me show up? am I missing something?

This happened to me years ago. Worse off it was a 7 or 8pm class and it was a snow storm. I drove 50 miles to class and got there but the door was locked and I spent 10 mins walking around asking folks. I ran into my classmate and we waited another 10 mins thinking he was caught in the storm. Til we looked in our spam and saw that class was cancelled. We had a campus bus that took you across to the parking lot but it was so bad they weren't running anymore. So I walked 25 mins in the storm to my car then drove an hour and a half home which normally takes 45 mins tops, but the roads were terrible. Apparently he sent the email out 10 mins after I left the house but I didn't see it because I was driving smh. So I got in the habit of being ahead at least 2 weeks in all my classes. If I needed to skip a class or didn't feel like going, I just didn't and it never affected my grades. In fact I missed 5 days in one class and even had the older version of the book $6 vs $120 no brainer for me and didn't even but the other one and I passed the class with more than 100%. So I learned a valuable lesson that day. Do what works for you. That's how the INFP wins. Figure out their rules and make them work for you

Teacher informed everyone in english literature of the last year of high school....that there would be an important exam. She badly planned the year. Nobody knew until less than a month before....EXCEPT NOBODY informed me because she only notified everyone through her facebook group messages.
She was not friends with me. Why would I be friends with this woman who nitpicked why I was 5min late after walking 45 mins in the snow as buses where I lived where cancelled?! But she let off girls who were 20min late because their parents dropped them off via car...so traffic is only acceptable if you own or go by car?!
Non of the girls informed me because they bullied me and never invited me to hang out with them. FML. I'm still mad at age 30.

So my best friend plays the drums (she's very good btw!!) and one time in middle school the principal asked her to perform a song in front of the whole school. She was super nervous. Between my friends I'm kind of known as a singer (?) I'm not good at all like no technique whatsoever, but I was part of a choir when I was younger (tho I couldn't understand anything we were being taught cause I was so little) so people always thought of me as a good singer 😂
So then my best friend asked me "You wanna sing this song that I'm doing a drum cover of?". She didn't pressure me or anything but seeing her so nervous I magically just developed some confidence out of NOWHERE cause I just felt so bad for her and knew what it felt like having all the attention on you (actually I didn't but the idea seemed terrifying). I didn't even know the lyrics to the song I literally read them off my phone.
It wasn't that bad & people told me I did good but I was so embarassed. One of the most reckless things I've EVER done, I still wonder how I actually managed to do it.
Oh and one time I started learning a bit of sign language (tho I don't know any deaf/mute person) cause I read a book with a deaf character and it inspired me so much! 😂

Anyway, here's an incident that happened to me about two days ago ON MY BIRTHDAY. I went out with my girl to meet her up cuz it's been a really long time and I miss her so much. So yeahh we went to this shop to get ice cream and some drinks. She was about to pay for her stuff, she put her money on the counter while waiting for the cashier to get her ice cream and all. The ice cream is done, the cashier passed the ice cream to her, and my friend grabbed it with her hand full of her drinks and purse. My dumbass was being nice and "helpful", thought it would be nice to help her get her "change" and help to put it in her purse. I grabbed the money that she put on the counter (for the payment) cuz I thought that was her change, the cashier was grasping the banknotes that I was tryna grab. I was so confused and my friend was like "That's the money for these things". I was like... 😳

This video reminded me how I used to work in small open space area, where all people just loved to eat lunch together. I used to always wait for them to finish, so I could eat alone in quiet. I could sat there for few hours hungry just to not meet everybody in a kitchen. This one time, I decided to go to nearby restaurant, I ordered my meal, have a time of my life scrolling on the phone while I was eating, and just before I finished I've heard familiar voices from people who just entered the restaurant. Yup, my coworkers decided to pick the same restaurant as I did, they sat down close to the waiters and a register so I couldn't go pay for my meal unnoticed even tho I almost finished. I was on an edge whether to go there and awkwardly wave them and pretend I haven't noticed them earlier, or just sit there for next hour and wait until they finish. Of course I sat there for next hour.

Too much work but I love how the video has turned out!

I felt so understood. Watching this and writing this will probably eat half my social energy for the day. In a few hours, I'll probably overthink writing this comment, how awkward and embarrassing it must look, and consider deleting it... but what if a stranger notices I deleted it and realizes I'm a coward? I'll tell myself no one will probably see it, anyway, and try not to feel anxious when it randomly comes to mind for the next week.
If someone randomly likes the comment, even if weeks later, I will be anxious and delighted. Someone out there noticed me, and not even in a bad way! I would take a bullet for that stranger. I would also hope that stranger forgot about me right after. If someone replied... I'd sit on the kitchen floor chewing my nails and considering deleting my account entirely. I settle on pretending I never saw the reply, because normal people would be busy with other things and forget they saw it. That would be a more normal response than panicking and deleting my account, right?
I will hit the arrow to submit my comment before my rationality kicks in, or I would simply delete the whole thing and never comment at all. Ugh, I wish I had a different brain.

The first one I relate so much to. My parents are not fluent in English so I always have to call to make appointments, order pizza, ect. But no matter how many times I have made a call, I still get a crippling anxiety when ringing the phone.
