*As always, great video Matt. I am happy to see your channel growing.* You definitely deserve more views - you've made a huge progress (especially in terms of content quality). I still hope someone will manage to find the original alpha or beta Grand Theft Auto III ROM. Red Dead Redemption preview copy was leaked so there is a slim chance people could find GTA3 preview copy as well. At this point, to be honest, even a preview copy would be great - any copy that differs from the retail version of GTA3. The problem with GTA3 is that, back in the day, Grand Theft Auto was not as popular as nowadays so most people did not care about the beta version of this game. It was the first GTA in 3D so people did not know what to expect from DMA/Rockstar North after their previous 2D games. I remember reading an old article (or was it a website?), in which the journalist stated that the hype at the GTA3 E3 booth was not that big, although people of course were interested.
Thank you for all your efforts of preservation and research, really hope something is discovered soon. About a week ago in the chat of a GTA 3 speedrun stream someone was talking about his friend owning a genuine pre-release build dated about half a year before E3 2001, even specifying odd details like what the disc looked like and saying there was a 99% chance his friend would release it on the 4th of this month. Thank you. I have been using your videos (and others) to help determine where a disc I own falls into the pre-release timeline. It contains the full game, containing (what I did not realize until much later on - when comparing it to others) a lot of the pre-9/11 things such as the blue Police cars. It has a fair few issues with even running (unsure if issues with the code or issues with the copied disc), and some very glaring visual issues in various places. Sadly that family friend is no longer with us, so I can not ask how or when he got hold of this copy. So far I have managed to determine that this copy is from around August 2001. I have no plans to sell this copy, I don't think anyone would find it trustworthy or worth buying, as the disc itself (just marked with pen) does not look legit or interesting. I was keen to ask him about the ps2 san andreas guide book as on some of the flying segments of the game in the pictures he has the ingame coordinates on screen. And i was very keen to ask him what was going on with that. He never got back to me..
I'm curious, is GTA 3 still your favorite game of all time?
Probably still is (don’t see any reason for it to change)
That thrasher one looks very interesting!! On another note have you ever seen any pre-release San Andreas stuff such as a pre-release disk??
I'm still looking for it
do you have a beta version of gta sa? i really wanna see the animations, the cars, i just wanna see everything about the beta version of gta sa
La versión beta existe?
Matt I found a Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories PROMO PS2 £50 and hopefully I get it I will do a game play if I get it omg soo excited .....
Just thought I would ask but have you ever played crash tag team racing? it was made by the same people that made the Simpsons hit and run radical :)
I’ll be here
Also my favorite video game
Interesting video. But I gotta ask Matt if you ever saw a flying UFO in the original San Andreas? I remember one time long ago I was playing on my PS2 out near that one building in the desert that has glowing blue lights at about Dusk/Night. Well I was running around near it when I saw some weird shadow and when I looked up I saw a glimpse of a UFO before it just suddenly despawned before me. Being young me I never recorded the footage but still have the copy of the game if I ever will try to do it again to see the UFO. (Original PS2 version I mean. Not the rerelease)
Maybe it's a Rare Retail Version . Like Italian for example . PLEASE ANSWER TO ME
Will you be making a vid on GT3 'Press Materials' copy? 👍
Yes! That's definitely in the pipeline. I was going to compare the standard one against the Le Mans press kit version.
Hello! By any chance, have you got any Ghost Master (2003) PR discs? We are a modding community for this game and would love to see what was changed.
Hi. Thanks for the message! Unfortunately not, I don't have Ghost Master items, sorry.
can you make a video on the burnout 3 betas?
Yes, one day. :)
broo im almost about to fall asleep and thought this was a video now im forced to keep my self awake :( fml lol
Hope you made it. :)
What is that NFS Carbon disk
Is it a preview or a beta? I want more info.
All the EA discs are either preview or review discs. I think that one might be a preview one.
@@MattJ155 i really want to see the Carbon one
The MW probaby i saw it as Alpha 124. But never a ps2 Carbon review disc
I know people who work at R* North and I can confirm that they are absolute a--holes. This video was amazing though!
Matt do you happen to have the fast and furious 1 / 2 fast 2 furious for ps2
to show off like an early build , I remember as a child in one of the powerstation magazines 2 fast 2 furious or fast & furious 1
one of them was shown and said it was coming out on Playstation 2 , when I went into gamestation
and asked a guy about it he said it was cancelled
2fast 2 furious game? i've seen gameplay of first f&f game (which is unreleased), but never the 2nd one
@@stobeznog878 Yeah the first one thinking about it but I am hoping matt sees this and has it in his collection or can talk to devs about it because I'm interested into what it would have been like
PLEASE RESPOND - How easy would it be to get a disc of GTA London?
What will you reaction be if someone of the houser brothers gives us answers about all the stuff about all of gta's beta and puts beta builds of all the gtas on sale.
MattJ, do you have the Honda promo TRD3 demo? If not hit me up as il happily donate mine. (:
@Adam Demeter Was it the _"This is what a Honda feels like"_ version?
IIRC, I got mine after my parents test-drove the (then) new Civic.
I'm not sure I've seen that before. Do you have a photo? :)
@@MattJ155 I can get one, I will have to find it first though... It's in one of about 50 or so large boxes full of old/retro games.
From what I remember, it's in one of them really thin jewel cases. Has an inlay with a rear of a Honda Civic with the slogan "This is what a Honda feels like" in a whacky font.
Only ever seen one for sale and that was a good 10 years ago.
Let me know what the best deets to send the photos to and I will be sure to save it for when I stumble across it again! :)
P.S. Check out eBay item No. 113194589245 - It's exactly that promo, but a different form-factor and for PS2.
@@R33Racer Thanks, that's really kind of you. :) You can send details to mattj_155@hotmail.co.uk
Hola Matt, pero la version beta ¿se podria conseguir?
It will be found, I still have faith
I wish they found gta 5 beta build too who the guy has it on 2018 but they burned his house
I’ve never set a reminder except for this
Me too, lol.
Thanks guys! Hope it lived up to your expectations.
Hey matt, in terms of music wasn't gta 3 supposed to have a rock station?
3 radio stations were cut, as far as I know. Liberty soul fm, Liberty fm and WLLC the zone.
Hey dude have u got a need for speed carbon build?
of course it exists, I had a beta ps2 cd which I lost, I still have the old guide book from the initial march 2000 release
Pls do the Gta 2 Beta disc
What makes GTA 3 your favourite gta?
I think it's because it was so groundbreaking when it came out. I'd never played anything like it before.
If if someone finds and releases a Beta release of GTA 3
Take 2 Will do everything to stop it.
I loved the video
Thanks!
Hey, I'm going to write this in both under your pinned comment and the comment section:
In this video that shows the beta footages in chronological order,
th-cam.com/video/Es-yVL-AUMA/w-d-xo.html
there's a comment wrote by the user _ryan seft_ that says "I wish I kept my GTA 3 I had one exactly like this when I was a kid didn't know anything till one day i purchased the game at cex and I was like da fuck is this this is not like what I played before 😪".
You could ask him more details!
(sorry for bad english, still learning)
Could you do a video about the Half Life 2 beta?
I mught not be the best person for that, as I've never played a game in the series. Shocking, I know!
@@MattJ155 No worries. The betas of GTA games are interesting too.
This is a long shot, but I think you should try track down the computers and tech they used to build the game. Surleybthe beta was sitting on a hard drive or something at some point in time.
do you know who is the owner ow those discs in 0:55?
nvm, they are yours lol, now onto the thing. could you give some need for speed game dumps to speedyheart for research reasons?
or make footage of them
The day we get a real GTA 3 Dreamcast build not the homebrew build is the day I die peacefully
Gta3 is my favourite out the whole series to be honest! I once managed to fly under the map, here it is if you fancy a look! I have no idea if its even been done before to be honest. Couldn't do it again. Most of the time the game crashes. There is a hole in the sea you can get through like i did, but you gotta kinda stall the dodo and recover it. Madness! Enjoy.. th-cam.com/video/AdiI8uIZL9A/w-d-xo.html
Can i ask a question?
Gordon is that you
@@commanderskittles6558 Maybe
Yes, of course. Feel free to ask me anything.
@@MattJ155 Do you have by any chance a Driv3r pre-release/press release or Driver Parallel lines Pre-release/press release?
@@Anvifen I have a Driver 3 build but it's very similar to the final build. I also have a Driver Parallel Lines preview build but I've got to play it as it's dongle protected.
What about gta vice city and gta san andreas beats as well GTA san andreas cut 3 cars from this game (gta iii) the fbi car stinger and the Idaho
Hi matt
Don't remember if we had beta. My first memory was my father's funeral. He got mauled by a bear.
Wtf?! 2:34.
Haha. A total accident.
😊🖒
