I love seeing this kind of content on how my Hiker was made . I went through the factory when I picked up my trailer last year and saw the process. I picked it up late so many of the workers had quit for the day and a few came over to show me extra little things about my trailer . I really like your crew and how they spent extra time with me . We’re loving our trailer and camp in it regularly. My favorite part of the trailer is the wood . Cut some of your scraps into “samples “ to send to potential customers and you’ll sell more trailers .
Recently toured and a couple days later ordered our 5x10 mid-range. Can't wait to take delivery and start the adventure. Thanks for the tour and these videos.
Great video, thanks for the behind the scenes, it shows hiker has nothing to hide. What kind of biscuit joiner is that? It looks like it cuts more of an oval peg hole than typical biscuit slot.
They get bolted together in several key areas. This step will be covered in depth in part 3 where we will mount the box to the frame and finish the galley and cabinetry. We're working on part 2 and 3 now, but don't have a timeline yet of when they'll be finished.
Leaving a window cracked or the fan on low solves any moisture issues. If it's too cold for that, customers use a small desiccant container to prevent excess moisture.
They were exploring electrical options that were more up to date several months ago but integrating new ideas and forming a plan to execute on them is slow process there
Wood is a good insulator and we are mostly made of wood. So long as you don't have any jacks in the down position, you'd also be sitting on tires like your vehicle. No vehicle is lightning proof, but we are much more secure than a tent!
We have thousands of units on the road and hundreds that are over 10 years old and still holding up just fine! They still build plenty out of wood like boats, roller coasters, houses and more! Everyone just likes to hate on wood in the RV business because if the manufacturer isn't skilled or takes the time, you can get a poor quality product. We are different!
Waiting on episode 2 😂
Oh boy! This is going to be a great series! I can't wait for more videos!
Very much appreciate this. I really like the fact the major seems are screwed, glued, and use the dominos as well.
Great video! It’s nice being able to see my trailer in “bones” form. Excited to follow along with this series!
Really wished this series existed when I bought my Hiker. It's answering so may questions, even ones I didn't know I had.

Hey Hiker, when is episode 2 of your Hiker Build Series coming out?
Don't have a date yet, but this is the next long form video we are working on.
How does the wood interior hold up to moisture buildup overnight in the winter?
Leaving a window cracked or the fan on low solves any moisture issues. If it's too cold for that, customers use a small desiccant container to prevent excess moisture.
Wish there was conduit to help with fishing any new wires in the future….or perhaps a modular 12v systems. Still, very cool!
They were exploring electrical options that were more up to date several months ago but integrating new ideas and forming a plan to execute on them is slow process there
When is the next installment?!!!
Our larger format videos take up a lot of our time, but this is the next large format video on our list.
Is that metal brace part of the "ac prep" package? Or separate?
This would be part of the rooftop AC Prep. "AC Prep" or front AC Prep are more commonly the front passive vents we add as an option to a build.
What is a good undercoating to put on after having your Hiker for a couple of years ?
Flex Seal, Duck Coat, etc. Any rubberized paint on polymer works well.
No floor insulation? Or is that in the next video?
Looks like roof only, kind of a bummer, gonna be cold in there, and wet.
do you have a 4'x8' ready to sale.
We have stock units being made currently and custom orders are 90 days or less!
Hi HT, Just curious. Are your h trailers lightning proof like cars and other RVs?
Wood is a good insulator and we are mostly made of wood. So long as you don't have any jacks in the down position, you'd also be sitting on tires like your vehicle. No vehicle is lightning proof, but we are much more secure than a tent!
seems well built but why do they call it the Hikers Trailer ? everyone is driving in a vehicle :)
Hiker is no good use wooden to build will tear apart soon or later.
