    Do you have a gap at the bottom of the door

    Nice vid. Thanks.
    What would you recommend for dampening or muffling the loud crash of these types of metal, security doors, so that it isn't sas loud when it accidentally/sometimes gets away from 'you' when closing?

      I’ve seen some folks put in a door closer like you see in schools or buildings. You would just need to find one that’s the right size and resistance for your door. They run around forty to fifty dollars for a simple non commercial one.

      @@justsoboredagain Sounds good. I was also thinking of researching like weather stripping or something similar to that.
      Thanks!

      Weather stripping can be a hit or miss depending on the gap you have in your door when it closes. I only have about a 1/16” gap so weather stripping is too thick. I actually tried it and I couldn’t close my door but give it a shot. Might work out for you.

    The screen holes look pretty big, it's not fine like fly screen right? Smaller flies or mosquitos can still get in?

    • @justsoboredagain
      @justsoboredagain  ปีที่แล้ว

      The holes are actually pretty small, not mesh screen small but small enough to keep flies and mosquitos out. Unless it’s a fruit fly. Those suckers are tiny.

      @@justsoboredagain Thanks. Can fruit flies get through regular fly screens?

    Did you add the strikeplate the doorknob and deadbolt come with to the door or did you leave it off?

    If my trim has stucco on it can i still mount the door over the stucco?

    • @justsoboredagain
      @justsoboredagain  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can as long as you still hit a stud or door frame behind the stucco. If there is just stucco and just insulation where you place the bolts, your door will fall right off. Make sure to pre-drill the holes and that you hit the frame or stud. Pre-Drilling will also limit the cracking of the stucco. Yes you can but first figure out what’s behind your stucco. Hope that makes sense and helps.

      Home Depot and Lowes sell it. I’m sure you cal also get it on Amazon.

    Does it keep bugs out? There seems to be a slight opening around the perimeter…

    • @justsoboredagain
      @justsoboredagain  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is openings at the bottom, if you don’t like the opening you can buy the kit to fill in that area. The holes in general are a small size so it would keep most bugs out with the extension kit installed. But even though we don’t have the bottom kit, we rarely get critters, just an occasional fly that sneaks by. I also spray for insects every few weeks so that helps a bit too.

      @@justsoboredagain - thanks so much for responding!! What is the kit called? Do they sell it with the door at Lowe’s???

      They call it a security door seal kit. I’ve seen them at Lowe’s and Home Depot.
