Hi Adam, the difference is the torque sensor vs the speed sensor that is commonly used for hub engines. The immediate response of this engine has not much to do with mid-drive or hub drive.
Most hub driven bikes come with a speed sensor. For a speed sensor you have to build up speed first, and only then the electronic can work with it. That's typically about 2 - 3 kph. A torque sensor can supply data once it senses force, which is right from the first kick.
This bike here is a more sport-touring bike. It should not have flat bars, as used on MTBs. Otherwise, it seems a great ebike, just the right ebike for commuters who do not need to fold a bike for getting it into bus or MRT. I did not know it, I definitely will have a closer look at it. Finally a full-size ebike!
8:50 larger diameter wheel advantages. Swap to 42mm wide wheels and it'll be more comfortable, allowing you to run at lower pressure without worry if pinch puncture, at the cost of lowered range assistance
And this is how a proper ebike should be constructed! Not these toys with 20 inch wheels.
Now bring a version with wider tires and swept handle bars as a touring bike.
I ride mid drives. Having 2 with me. Different models. Had rear hub drive before but mid drives are better for me as I can change my rear without needing to think about the hub drive.
Torque sensor as mentioned. It's nice ah. Can ride trails. 😅
Once more brands come to the market with mid drive motor the pricing will be more competitive 😄

Yea i notice tat. But only saw it in town area haha
As a 2 year apollo mars user I can attest that it's not worth it's price tag and support should anything go wrong is very poor and costly. Still haven't figured out how to take out the battery if I ever need to change to a new one 🙃.

What about the charging and maintenance?
Standard charging time 5-7hrs. No motor on wheel and is quick release which make maintenance fairly easier compare to hub motor ebike.

PAB cannot be ridden on footpaths. Can only be on cycling paths (Shared pedestrian + cycling , PCN Park Connector paths), and roads.
