Literally, one of the worst mistakes Broadway has ever made is taking Beauty and the Beast off Broadway. It was way too soon and was still doing well. I am fairly certain that if they brought it back, it would still be successful. And when they do, it should be Ryan as the Beast.

I misread the first sentence as the biggest mistake was bringing Beaty & the Beast TO Broadway and I was about to need therapy. I agree it could have had a longer run! Wonderful show and I love Ryan's version of this

I saw Ryan as Raoul in Phantom, he was fantastic, and he said he one day wants to play the Phantom, I think he'd be great, baritones tend to bring more grit into the role!

This is excellent. His performance really captures that the Beast/Prince are the same character, and this song runs the gamut from existential crisis to ultimately resolution and hope. When he says offhanded in the interlude, "It was pretty deep," it slayed me.

This is by far my favorite version of this song. It seems others (even the broadway) are lacking something that Ryan does perfectly.

XD on his intro, and "Beast Mode". No Terrence Mann (the original Broadway Beast), but he's lovely vocally nonetheless. He mixed up "hopeless" and "helpless", but otherwise perfect lyric recall.

Disney made a huge mistake not adding this song into the remake. Evermore was good, but this...this is such a beautiful song.

sandy hsieh broadway show isnt running anymore. and the movie started production at least a year before it was promoted because they had to cast and block and do takes and things like that

Hate this. He turned it into a pop/nightclub song instead of actually singing it straight. The Beast needs to have a much richer sound. I wouldn’t cast him as the Beast- more Gaston.
Could you please explain? I'm playing the Beast in a community theatre production soon, and I'm actually worried I don't sound as good as this guy.
