    To Capt Lewis. Another note. I flew with Theresa Claiborne, the first black female USAF pilot. I was her first Boom Operator when when she became Aircraft Commander on the KC-135A at Castle AFB, CA.

    I was a KC-10 Instructor Boom Operator stationed at March AFB, CA back in the 80's & 90's. Every Black History Month, our squadrons would crew two KC-10's with all-black crews to fly original and local chapters of Tuskegee Airmen from the Southern California area on some of our local air refueling missions. We would also contact the receiver unit's about our flights and they would try to have some of their black fighter pilots come up for gas.
    They paved the way for us to continue their legacy. Well done JSTARS.

      @Randy, it is good to see another fellow Boom Operator here showing the appreciation. We were stationed together at March as I was on the 135 side of the house, but was responsible for the scheduling and evaluations until we closed the squadron. I do hope that you and yours are doing well.
      This group of Airman and Soldiers are carrying on the torch that was started a long time ago. I remember us taking an all Black KC-135 crew and crew chiefs to Tyndall AFB, FL for a week. Dreamwvr

      I was stationed at March AFB mid 80's in the Comm Sqn. I worked on the sensors around the alert area. Our shop was near the run-up blast area.
      March was a good assignment. The NCO club was hopping back then...lol

      @@guympingi4948 for decades now, blacks in the USA have been treated as first class citizens and given perks no one else gets because of skin color regardless of qualification (so they can vote Democrat for life, but still you get to jump the line in jobs, scholarships/college enrollment and lately TV/media) that no other country in the world gives anybody just because of skin color. Blacks in Jamaica are Jamaican, in Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba etc nowhere do blacks call themselves "African". Even if you have a weird made up name, if you were raised in the United States, you aren't African, you are American. This racial division and gender confusion agenda is paid for by billionaire leftist Soros, the biggest donor to the Democrat party

    Wonderful! It's an accomplishment worthy of celebrating. They're real patriots. This story is a fantastic slap on the face of those (and their offspring -- you occasionally read their comments on this video) who, in the past and in the present, have made every effort to create institutional systems to impede women and folks of color to reach milestones such as this. Kudos from someone like them who served in the greatest military in the world on active and reserve duty for 36 years. Again, wonderful story!

    • @evangelstrategies
      @evangelstrategies 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Lao Tzu @Lao Tzu Sorry my friend, it's important to remind ourselves of our history every so often. It's a great exercise in learning and humility. As the Spanish writer and philosopher George Santayana once said, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." You may not have learned in that lesson. Learn and remember your history, whether you like it or not! It has the power to cleanse the soul and make us better.

    • @evangelstrategies
      @evangelstrategies 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Lao Tzu I've made my point, my friend. No need to belabor it. But clearly you're uncomfortable with the lessons we can learn from the evils of our history and that of other nations. It appears that in your logic there's a fundamental flaw to "never forget." While in my logic, to do so is a healthy act of humility. It's the soul's act of redemption that leads to transformation. Peace.

    • @evangelstrategies
      @evangelstrategies 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Lao Tzu Different times than the one we live in now? Ammo they can use to further their cause? Remain neutral? Are you malarkingly kidding me? What planet have you come from? Clearly, we both have a different way of viewing the world, addressing the complexities of human sin, and addressing the past and present realities of racism in all it's form. With your logic peoples of goodwill are suppose to be silent when we see acts of hate often perpetrated against people of color and the LGBTQIA community; when they hear of atrocities against the Uyghurs in China; or see evidence of genocide in Myanmar against the Rohingya minority. Sorry, Lao, in my world I confront it, call evil systems of governance to task, and and seek to understand it so it never happens again. In your world you sweep it under the rug and hope the dust disappears. Thank you for enlightening me in your fascinating rabbit hole.

    • @evangelstrategies
      @evangelstrategies 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Lao Tzu For your information -- I'm white and proud of it. But I'll always call to task evil in the world -- no matter where it comes from. You, on the other hand, can continue to stick to your neutrality and fear of telling the proverbial king "he ain't got no clothes." Peace.

    • @evangelstrategies
      @evangelstrategies 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Lao Tzu Yes, I'm a proud white Latino who, unlike you, doesn't wrap himself around the flag but served 36 years in uniform the greatest military in the world. This is my bottom line -- I'll never succumb to the myth of "let's just get along" and be "neutral" in the midst of injustice in my land, your ancestors' homeland, and everywhere else in the world. Since all we're doing is running in circles in this rabbit hole, let me wish you well and bid you good-bye. Peace!
