I have been learning Russian for almost three months... One day, hopefully not far away, I will be able to express my reasons to learn Russian in Russian!
My motivations are:
1) Yes! I really want to get to know the mysterious Russian soul.
2) I want to learn about Russian mythology/folklore/ old religion, customs, beliefs. (weird reason, I know)
3) I want to enjoy Russian poetry and understand the news in the OV.
4) To challenge myself.
5)The X factor. Sometimes I wonder why I am ready to put up with the ordeal of Russian grammar. Or am I?😱

Because my wife is from Saint Petersburg's Russia. We have a beautiful 3 years old boy and he is learning Russian language faster than Spanish or English.
I started to formally learn Russian language 8 months ago. Guess what , she does not know im learning and don't want to tell her anything for the next 2 years, it will be a surprise. I have Russian friends and I started to practice little by little.
My wife and I speak English only . that is the reason I am learning . I will send you a picture with family.
